Prediction of Compressive Strength of Biodegradable Mg–Zn/HA Composite via Response Surface Methodology and Its Biodegradation

This work aimed to fabricate magnesium zinc/hydroxyapatite （Mg-Zn/HA） composite via powder metallurgy method and to develop a mathematical model to predict the compressive strength of the composite using response surface methodology method. The effect of various mechanical milling parameters, milling speed （200-300 r/rain）, ball-to-powder weight ratio （5-12.5） and HA content （2.6-10 wt%） on the compressive strength of Mg-Zn/HA composite was investigated. The model shows that high compressive strength of Mg-Zn/HA composite was achieved when the powders were prepared with high milling speed and ball-to- powder weight ratio and low HA content. The mathematical model was adequate with error percentage lower than 3.4%. The microstructure of Mg-Zn/HA composite with different process parameters revealed that fine microstructure was observed at high milling speed and ball-to-powder weight ratio while agglomeration of HA was found in composite with 10 wt% HA. The agglomeration of HA led to degradation of interfacial bonding strength between matrix and reinforcement phases and hence decreased the overall compressive strength of Mg-Zn/HA composite. Biodegradation test revealed that sample with higher HA content had more weight gain and there was more formation of hydroxyapatite. Mg-Zn/HA composite with 8 wt% HA was found to be the best candidate for implant application because it had considerable compressive strength and good biodegradation properties.

Evolutionary dynamics of solitary wave profiles and abundant analytical solutions to a(3+1)-dimensional burgers system in ocean physics and hydrodynamics

In the fields of oceanography,hydrodynamics,and marine engineering,many mathematicians and physi-cists are interested in Burgers-type equations to show the different dynamics of nonlinear wave phenom-ena,one of which is a(3+1)-dimensional Burgers system that is currently being *** this paper,we apply two different analytical methods,namely the generalized Kudryashov(GK)method,and the generalized exponential rational function method,to derive abundant novel analytic exact solitary wave solutions,including multi-wave solitons,multi-wave peakon solitons,kink-wave profiles,stripe solitons,wave-wave interaction profiles,and periodic oscillating wave profiles for a(3+1)-dimensional Burgers sys-tem with the assistance of symbolic *** employing the generalized Kudryashov method,we obtain some new families of exact solitary wave solutions for the Burgers ***,we applied the generalized exponential rational function method to obtain a large number of soliton solutions in the forms of trigonometric and hyperbolic function solutions,exponential rational function solutions,peri-odic breather-wave soliton solutions,dark and bright solitons,singular periodic oscillating wave soliton solutions,and complex multi-wave solutions under various family *** on soft computing via Wolfram Mathematica,all the newly established solutions are verified by back substituting them into the considered Burgers ***,the dynamical behaviors of some established results are exhibited graphically through three-and two-dimensional wave profiles via numerical simulation.

Differences in Tree Species Diversity and Soil Nutrient Status in a Tropical Sacred Forest Ecosystem on Niyamgiri Hill Range,Eastern Ghats,India

We have quantitatively analyzed the tree species diversity with respect to soil nutrient status in three sites of a sacred forest ecosystem of Niyamgiri hill range, Eastern Ghats, India. Extensive field surveys and sampling were conducted in 3 sites of the hill range： Site 1 Pterocarpus dominated forest （PTF）（19°40＇02.2＇＇ N and 83°21＇23.1＇＇ E）, Site 2 Mangifera dominated forest （MAF）（19°40＇02.8＇＇ N and 83°21＇40.8＇＇ E） and Site 3 Mixed forest （MIF）（19°36＇47.1＂ N and 83°21＇02.7＇＇ E）. A total of 28 families, 42 genera, 46 tree species, and 286 individual trees were recorded on an area of0.6 ha. Tree density varied between 470 and 49o individuals ha and average basal area between 3.16 and l0.04 m2 ha-1. Shannon Index （H＇） ranged from 2.34 to 4.53, Simpson＇s Index ranged from 0.07 to o.09, and equitability Index ranged from 0.7 to 1.34. The number of individuals was highest in the girth at breast height （GBH） class of 50-7o cm. The soil nutrient status of the three forest types was related to tree species diversity. The soil pH value of the three sites reflected the slightly acidic nature of the area. Species diversity was positively correlated with organic carbon and phosphorus and negatively with nitrogen, EC and pH. The results of the current study may be helpful to further develop a conservation planfor tree species in tropical sacred forest ecosystems.

In sensor networks,it is a challenge to ensure the security of data exchange between packet switching nodes holding different private *** order to solve this problem,the present study proposes a scheme called multi-conditional proxy broadcast re-encryption(MC-PBRE).The scheme consists of the following roles:the source node,proxy server,and the target *** the condition is met,the proxy can convert the encrypted data of the source node into data that the target node can directly *** allows the proxy server to convert the ciphertext of the source node to a new ciphertext of the target node in a different group,while the proxy server does not need to store the key or reveal the *** the same time,the proxy server cannot obtain any valuable information in the *** paper formalizes the concept of MC-PBRE and its security model,and proposes a MC-PBRE scheme of ciphertext ***,the scheme security has been proved in the random oracle.

Species Diversity and Population Status of Threatened Plants in Different Landscape Elements of the Rohtang Pass,Western Himalaya

This paper highlights the quantitative estimates of plant species diversity and ecosystems of the Rohtang Pass,which is one of the most preferred visiting spots by tourists in Himachal Pradesh (H.P.),India. In spite of high pressure of anthropogenic activities,the Rohtang Pass still harbours a variety of flowering plants with economic value,including various medicinal herbs. In order to observe species diversity in different landscape elements (LSEs),ground surveys were conducted in nine unique LSEs within the elevation range between 3624 m and 4332 m. Plant community structure in each LSE was studied using stratified random sampling where a total 56 quadrats of 1 m2 in size for herbs and 7 quadrats of 25 m2 for shrubs were made. Of the total 50 plant species belonging to 15 families recorded in different random quadrats,24 species were found of medicinal value. Maximum species richness (18) and value of Shannon diversity (H'=2.2648) were observed on northeast-facing slope in Picrorhiza kurrooa dominated LSE in moist area,followed by Rheum emodi LSE (species richness = 17 and H' = 2.4141) distributed on south-facing slope. Maximum values of species richness and Shannon diversity in Rheum emodi LSE were observed between 8 ～ 12 and 1.4797 ～ 2.1911,respectively. Rhododendron anthopogon dominated LSE on northwest-facing slope was found least diverse in terms of species richness where the Simpson index of dominance (D) was 0.4205. The species were equal in abundance in P. kurrooa LSE on east-facing slope and Pleurospermum candollii LSE on north-facing slope,showing the maximum similarity in terms of species distribution between the two LSEs. Low turnover of species across common LSEs gives an idea regarding their limited distribution. Five species of threatened category according to the IUCN criteria were observed in seven LSEs. The labile organic carbon(C)and C-related enzymes are sensitive indicators capturing alterations of soil organic matter(SOM),even in a short-time *** the effects of crop husbandry and land use change on these attributes have been well studied,there is no consensus about how plant phenology may impact *** study aimed to determine the short-term effect o f six distinct phenological stages(PS-1:full bloom;PS-2:fruit set;PS-3:pit hardening;PS-4:physiological maturity;PS-5:60 d after physiological maturity;and PS-6:fall)o f peach on the changes in soil organic carbon(SOC)fractions of different oxidizability,labile C pools,and C-cycle enzyme activities in soils,for two consecutive years(2015 and 2016)in the North-Western Himalayas(NWH).Peach rhizosphere soils were sampled at the topsoil(0-15 cm)and subsoil(16-30 cm)layers,along with rhizosphere soils from adjacent perennial grasses,which served as a *** for most of the assessed parameters,including very labile C,labile C,microbial biomass C,permanganate oxidizable C,dissolved organic C,mineralizable C,amylase activity,and carboxymethyl-cellulase activity,were significantly(P<0.05)higher at PS-3 than at other phenological stages of ***,a sudden decline in these soil variables was recorded at PS-5,followed by a slight buildup at PS-6,particularly in the topsoil of the peach ***-term changes in organic C fractions of different oxidizability,influenced by peach phenological stage,significantly(P<0.05)affected C management index,C pool index,and lability *** the C management index and lability index showed their highest values at PS-3 and their lowest values at PS-5,clearly indicating short-term accretion and depletion of SOC,in tandem with the peach phenological *** component analysis suggested that a composite of soil indicators,including microbial biomass C,dissolved organic C,amylase,and invertase,could help detect short-term changes in SOC *** i

Genetic Diversity in Selected Indian Mungbean [<i>Vigna radiata</i>(L.) Wilczek] Cultivars Using RAPD Markers

Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers were used to study the DNA polymorphism in Indian mungbean cultivars. A total of 60 random primers were used in the study and 33 of them generated reproducible RAPD patterns. Amplification of genomic DNA of most popular 24 Indian mungbean cultivars with these RAPD primers yielded 249 fragments that could be scored, of which 224 were polymorphic, with an average of 7.0 polymorphic fragments per primer. Number of amplified fragments with random primers ranged from 2 (OPI 9) to 17 (OPD 7). Percentage polymorphism ranged from 33% (OPX 5) to a maximum of 100% (OPX 4, OPX 6, OPX 13, OPX 15, OPX 19, OPD 5, OPD 7, OPD 20, OPI 4, OPI 6, OPI 13, OPI 14, OPI 18 and OPF 1), with an average of 90%. The Jaccard’s similarity indices based on RAPD profiles were subjected to UPGMA cluster analysis. And genotypes grouped in two major groups. Sixteen out of 24 released cultivars grouped to cluster I. This indicated the narrow genetic base in the Indian mungbean cultivars used in the study. The details of diversity analysis and possible reasons for narrow genetic base in mungbean cultivars are discussed in the present study.
