Two important mycotoxins, aflatoxin and fumonisin, are among the most potent naturally occurring carcinogens, contaminating maize(Zea mays) and affecting crop yield and *** of maize to pre-harvest mycotoxin contamination, specifically aflatoxin produced by Aspergillus flavus and fumonisin produced by Fusarium verticillioides, is a goal in breeding programs that screen for these important traits with the aim of developing resistant commercial hybrids. We conducted two years of field evaluations on 87 inbred lines originating primarily in China and Mexico and not previously screened for *** objectives of our study were to identify resistant germplasm for breeding purposes and to examine possible relationships between resistances to the two mycotoxins. Aflatoxin and fumonisin were present in samples harvested from all lines in both *** of total aflatoxin ranged from 52.00 ± 20.00 to 1524.00 ± 396.00 μg kg^(-1),while those of fumonisin ranged from 0.60 ± 0.06 to 124.00 ± 19.50 mg kg^(-1). The inbred lines TUN15, TUN61, TUN37, CY2, and TUN49 showed the lowest aflatoxin accumulation and CN1, GT601, TUN09, TUN61, and MP717 the lowest fumonisin accumulation. TUN61 showed the lowest accumulation of both mycotoxins. This study confirmed previous observations that high levels of aflatoxin can coexist with fumonisin, with 55 maize lines showing a positive correlation coefficient between the concentrations of aflatoxin and fumonisin and 32 lines showing a negative correlation coefficient. These selected lines,particularly TUN61, may provide sources of resistance to mycotoxin contamination in breeding programs. However, the mechanism of resistance in this germplasm remains to be identified. Future research should also address factors that influence the fungus–plant interaction, such as herbivory and environmental stress.

Pre-harvest aflatoxin contamination occurs in maize following kernel colonization by Aspergillus flavus. Aflatoxin contamination resistance is a highly desired trait in maize breeding *** identification of novel sources of resistance to pre-harvest aflatoxin contamination is a major focus in germplasm screening efforts. Here, we performed a field evaluation of 64 inbred lines over two years for pre-harvest aflatoxin contamination. Topcrosses were also performed with two testers, B73 and Mo17, to generate 128 F1 hybrids which were also evaluated over two years. Hybrid performance was used to calculate both general combining ability(GCA) of the inbreds, and observed heterosis for aflatoxin resistance. Over both years of the study, aflatoxin concentrations ranged from 80 ± 47 to 17,617 ± 8816 μg kg^(-1) for inbreds, and from 58 ± 39 to 2771 ± 780 μg kg^(-1) for hybrids with significant variation between years and lines. The inbred lines CML52, CML69, CML247, GT-603, GEMS-0005, Hi63, Hp301, and M37 W showed <1000 μg kg^(-1) of aflatoxin accumulation in both years of the study and less than the resistant check, Mp313 E, in at least one season. Among these, CML52, GT-603, and Hi63 also showed significant GCA with the testers in hybrid progeny. CML52, GT-603, and M37 W also showed heterotic effects of-13.64%,-12.47%, and-24.50%, respectively, with B73 resulting in reduced aflatoxin contamination. GT-603 also showed a similar heterotic effect for aflatoxin contamination,-13.11%, with Mo17 indicating that this line may serve as a versatile source of aflatoxin contamination resistance in breeding programs.

Dogs are the most phenotypically diverse mammalian species, and they possess more known heritable disorders than any other non-human mammal. Efforts to catalog and characterize genetic variation across well-chosen populations of canines are necessary to advance our understanding of their evolutionary history and genetic architecture. To date, no organized effort has been undertaken to sequence the world's canid populations. The Dog10 K Consortium(http://***10 ***) is an international collaboration of researchers from across the globe who will generate 20× whole genomes from 10 000 canids in 5 *** effort will capture the genetic diversity that underlies the phenotypic and geographical variability of modern canids worldwide. Breeds, village dogs, niche populations and extended pedigrees are currently being sequenced, and de novo assemblies of multiple canids are being constructed. This unprecedented dataset will address the genetic underpinnings of domestication, breed formation, aging, behavior and morphological variation. More generally, this effort will advance our understanding of human and canine health.

Considering the range anxiety issue caused by the limited driving range and the scarcity of battery charging stations,the conventional multinomial logit(MNL)model with the overlapping path issue was used in route choice modeling to describe the route choice behavior of travelers ***,the generalized nested logit-based stochastic user equilibrium(GNL-SUE)model with the constraints of multiple user classes and distance limits was proposed.A mathematical model was developed and solved by the method of successive *** mathematical model was proven to be analytically equivalent to the modified GNL-SUE model,and the uniqueness of the solution was also *** proposed mathematical model was tested and compared with the GNL-SUE model without a distance limit and the MNL-SUE model with a distance *** show that the proposed mathematical model can effectively handle the range anxiety and overlapping path challenges.

The colonization of maize(Zea mays L.) and peanut(Arachis hypogaea L.) by the fungal pathogen Aspergillus flavus results in the contamination of kernels with carcinogenic mycotoxins known as aflatoxins leading to economic losses and potential health threats to humans. The regulation of aflatoxin biosynthesis in various Aspergillus spp. has been extensively studied, and has been shown to be related to oxidative stress responses. Given that environmental stresses such as drought and heat stress result in the accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS) within host plant tissues, host-derived ROS may play an important role in cross-kingdom communication between host plants and A. flavus. Recent technological advances in plant breeding have provided the tools necessary to study and apply knowledge derived from metabolomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic studies in the context of productive breeding populations. Here, we review the current understanding of the potential roles of environmental stress, ROS, and aflatoxin in the interaction between *** and its host plants, and the current status in molecular breeding and marker discovery for resistance to A. flavus colonization and aflatoxin contamination in maize and peanut. We will also propose future directions and a working model for continuing research efforts linking environmental stress tolerance and aflatoxin contamination resistance in maize and peanut.

Sapphirine granulites occur in the Daqingshan and Jining areas in the Palaeoproterozoic Khondalite belt,which divides the Western Block of the North China Craton into the Yinshan block to the north and the Ordos block to the *** sapphirine granulites in the Daqingshan area are always in contact with meta-gabbronorite dykes,implying a causal *** sapphirine-bearing rocks are divided into spinel-garnet-sillimanite-biotite-plagioclase-sapphirine gneiss,UHT sapphirine granulite, and spinel-garnet *** sapphirine granulite contains up to 30%sapphirine,garnet(30-50%), spinel(5-15%),sillimanite(5-15%),biotite(10-20%) and plagioclase(10-20%) with minor cordierite, rutile and ilmenite,but without quartz and *** chemical compositions show that the sapphirine granulites have very low SiO contents(39wt.%),high Al contents,and low *** contains very high TiO contents up to 7.6wt.%.Detailed petrographic examination of the sapphirine granulites reveals five mineral assemblages(M-M):(1) an assemblage(M) of mineral inclusions within garnet cores,(2) a matrix(peak) assemblage(M) represented by coarse-grained garnet,sapphirine, spinel,sillimanite,biotite and plagioclase,(3) sapphirine+plagioclase symplectite(M),(4) spinel + plagioclase symplectite(M),and(5) retrogressive biotite(M).The P-T stability field in the pseudosection of the NCKFMASH system indicates that the temperature of the peak UHT metamorphism of the Daqingshan sapphirine granulites is in the range 910-980℃(this compares with the peak regional metamorphic temperature of the khondalites of 700-820℃).The P-T path inferred from the P-Tstability fields of the mineral assemblages(M-M) suggests that the peakUHT metamorphism(M) was followed by nearly isothermal decompression(M and M) and later cooling(M).Field relations and geochrono-logical data suggest that the high-heat flow necessary for the UHT metamorphism of the sapphirine granulites from the Daqingshan area was provided by

Garnetite pods containing >60 mol%garnet in association with garnet-bearing quartz-rich lenses are sporadically distributed in the Khondalite Belt,North China *** mineral assemblages and microtextures of garnetite occurring in quartzo-feldspathic sillimanite -garnet gneiss in the Xiaoshizi area allow definition of the metamorphic history of the *** of garnet poikiloblasts coupled with their enclosing and matrix minerals quartz,sillimanite, plagioclase,biotite,rutile and ilmenite defines an M assemblage consistent with partial melting and subsequent melt separation. Thermodynamic modeling of bell-shaped Ca zoning in garnet poikiloblasts confirms that this occurred during decompression.A retrograde M assemblage replacing M garnet or sillimanite is defined by two microdomains:coronas of Grt2 + Crd(M) where quartz is present,and Spl + Crd symplectite(M) where quartz is *** final metamorphic stage led to the coronal assemblage Grt3+Opx + Crd + Pl+ Bt(M) surrounding M garnet. Comparison of the observed mineral proportions and compositions with the predictions of phase equilibria modeling in the MCKFMASHTO system for the effective bulk compositions,in combination with Zr-in-rutile thermometry,results in the following P-T conditions for the metamorphic events:820-850℃(up to 950℃) and 8.5-9.5kbar for M;850-865℃and 7.4-7.6 kbar for M;710-720℃and 6.4-6.6 kbar for M3 The clockwise P-T path thus defined for M to M evolution is interpreted to reflect the onset of extension and exhumation of the Khondalite Belt at～1890 Ma,following the emplacement of S-type granitoids at～1920-1890 Ma and ultrahigh-temperature metamorphism at～1920 Ma that resulted from collision of the finshan and Ordos Blocks at～1950 Ma.
