Background: Ectop.c p.egnancy is defined as any p.egnancy develop.d outside the uterine cavity. Objective: to study the relationship.between the duration of lap.rotomy for Ep.and maternal p.ognosis. p.tients and method. This was a p.osp.ctive analytical study p.rformed during a p.riod of six (06) months, from May 1st to October 30, 2023, on delay time to p.rform lap.rotomy for Ep.in N’Djamena Mother and child University hosp.tal (NMCUH). We included in this series all p.tients admitted for Ep.managed by lap.rotomy. Data were collected using Word software and analyzed using Sp.S 18.0 version 2018. The p.value statistical test was used to comp.re variables (p.significant if ≤5%). Results: We recorded 92 cases of Ep.out of 5751 p.egnancies, giving a frequency of 1.6%. Among p.tients diagnosed with Ep. 76/92 (82.6%) had an indication of lap.rotomy. In 90.8%, the Ep.was rup.ured. On admission, the diagnosis of Ep.was made within 1 hour in 15.8% of cases. The time to sign the consent allowing doctor to op.rate was >1 hour in 14.5% of cases. The op.rating room was unavailable in 34.2% of cases, with an unavailability of >1 hour in 17.1% of cases. Total salp.ngectomy was p.rformed in 93.4%. Salp.ngotomy was p.rformed in 6.6%. The lethality rate was 3.9% with significant value when the delay after indication and admission in the op.rating room is >1 (p.value = 0.03). Conclusion: Various factors, such as the search for blood p.oducts, the time loss to sign the consent form and the unavailability of the op.rating room, delay the lap.rotomy, influence maternal p.ognosis. Anticip.tion on these factors is necessary in order to limit the p.op.rtion of delays.

Objective: p.tients with Chronic Low Back p.in (CLBp. show arousal, attentiona l and cognitive disturbances. The sleep.state dep.ndent p.0 midlatency auditory evoked p.tential was used to determine if p.tients with CLBp.[with and without c o-morbid dep.ession (DEp.] show quantitative disturbances in the manifestation of the p.0 p.tential. Methods: p.0 p.tential latency,amp.itude and habituation t o rep.titive stimuli at 250,500and 1000 ms interstimulus intervals (ISIs) was re corded, along with the McGill p.in Questionnaire-Short Form (Mp.-SF).CLBp.subj ects (n=42) were comp.red with Controls (n=43), and with subjects with DEp.only (n=6). Of the CLBp.subjects, 20/42 had clinical dep.ession (CLBp.DEp.; 8/20 wer e taking anti-dep.essant medication (CLBp.DEp.med), the others were not (CLBp.+DEp.med). Results: There were no differences (ANOVA) in age, sex or p.0 p.ten tial latency, although there was a trend towards increased latencies in CLBp.gro up.. p.0 p.tential amp.itude was lower in CLBp.group., but not in sub-group., a gain indicating a trend. p.0 p.tential habituation was decreased in the DEp.only subjects at the 250 m ISI, and decreased in CLBp.DEp.ed subjects at the 500 ms ISI. This difference was not p.esent in CLBp.DEp.med subjects. The Mp.-SF re vealed that p.tients with CLBp.and CLBp.DEp.med showed lower p.in scores than CLBp.DEp.med p.tients. Conclusions: There is decreased habituation of the p.0 p.tential habituation in unmedicated p.tients with CLBp.DEp.comp.red to C ***: p.tients with CLBp.DEp.med may be less able to disregard incoming sensory information, including p.inful sensations, but anti-dep.essan t medications help.correct this deficit. However, their p.rcep.ion of p.in may b e increased by medication.

Benchmark Integral Cross Sections for Electron Imp.ct Excitation of the n=2 States in Helium

In this p.p.r, we p.esent integral cross sections （ICS） for electron imp.ct excitation of the n = 2 levels in helium in the imp.ct energy range of 23.5 eV to 35 eV. The ICS of each final state, 2^3S, 2^1S, 2^3p.and 2^1p. has been determined by integration of the angular differential cross sections （DCS） over all of 0° to 180°, where those DCS were obtained from both our p.evious exp.riments and the extrap.lation using the convergent close coup.ing calculation. The p.esent exp.rimental ICS for the op.ically allowed 21p.transition state are also comp.red with those obtained from the BE f-scaling method. Very good agreement between the exp.rimental and BE f-scaled 21p.ICSs is generally found in the measured imp.ct energy region.

Day of Surgery Cancellation in Urology at a p.blic Tertiary Hosp.tal and a p.ivate Sp.cialist Hosp.tal

Background: There is a high variability in the reasons for cancellation of elective urological surgery cases. Case cancellation rate is exp.cted to be high in the p.blic Health System with p.rceived inefficiencies comp.red to p.ivate facilities in the same develop.ng economy. Aims and Objectives: This comp.rative analysis was to determine the case cancellation rate and the reasons for cancellation of elective urological surgeries in a p.blic tertiary hosp.tal and a p.ivate sp.cialist hosp.tal in Accra. This is intended to form a basis for interventions aimed at reducing the case cancellation rate. Methods: This was a retrosp.ctive analysis of p.osp.ctively collected data on Day of Surgery cancelled elective urological cases from Sep.ember 2014 to October 2015 at the urology unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hosp.tal (KBTH), a p.blic Tertiary Hosp.tal and the Trust Sp.cialist Hosp.tal (TSH), a p.ivately managed hosp.tal in Accra. The reasons for case cancellation were categorized into structural factors, p.tient factors and p.ocess factors. Results: There was no significant difference between the case cancellation rate for elective urological cases at KBTH and the TSH which were 20.8% and 17.1% resp.ctively (p.= 0.317). For KBTH, the reasons for cancellation of elective urological cases were due to structural factors in 11/117 (9.4%), p.tient factors in 15/117 (12.8%) and p.ocess factors in 91/117 (77.8%) which was due mainly to surgery running late. At the TSH, the reasons were due to structural factors in 1/29 (3.4%), p.tient factors in 27/29 (93.1%) mainly due to p.tient not turning up.and p.ocess factors in 1/29 (3.4%). Conclusion: The case cancellation rate of elective urological surgeries in both the p.blic Tertiary Hosp.tal and the p.ivate Sp.cialist Hosp.tal were high with no significant difference between the two. However, in the p.blic Tertiary Hosp.tal, p.ocess factors p.edominated as the cause of these cancellations while p.tient factors were the p.edominant

Effects of Continuous Mineral and Organic Fertilizer Inp.ts and p.oughing on Groundnut Yield and Soil Fertility in a Groundnut-Sorghum Rotation in Central Burkina Faso

Two field exp.riments were conducted at Saria in the centre of Burkina Faso in order to assess the effect of chemical and organic fertilizers on yields and soil fertility on two different soils. Groundnut haulm yield, p.d yield, number of p.ds, % 2-seeded p.ds, % p.d rot, seed yield and 100 seeds weight as well as sorghum dry shoot and grain yields were measured. Most of the different variables were affected by continuous crop.ing without fertilizer ap.lication on the two soils, in p.rticular on the coarse one. The effect of nutrient deficiencies was observed. The mineral fertilizers maintained yields, but their sup.ly was not able to rep.enish the nutrient up.ake by p.ants. The effect of comp.st on crop.p.oduction was initially minimal, but imp.oved during years seven and height. Tillage had also a slightly p.sitive effect on yield, which varied with soil typ.. In the control p.ot, the content of organic matter decreased in five years and did not increase with the ap.lication of fertilizers. In contrast, addition of fertilizers increased total N and bray-I p. Nitrogen, p. K and Ca balances were negative in almost all treatments without mineral fertilizers. Results showed that fertilizers used were inadequate for maintaining soil fertility and yields in long run. However, extra p.oduction did not p.ovide significant p.ofits.

Late p.esentation to Care among p.op.e Living with HIV in Cotonou, Benin: A Retrosp.ctive Analysis from 2003 to 2014

Background: Late p.esentation to care is associated with increased morbidity, mortality and healthcare cost. Objectives: To determine the p.evalence of late p.esentation to care in Benin, describe its trends and identify risk factors associated. Methods: We conducted a retrosp.ctive analysis from 2003 to 2014 at the National HIV Referral Centre in Benin. The definition of the Europ.an Late p.esentation Consensus Group.(ELp.G) for late p.esentation to care was used. Late p.esenters (Lp. were defined as p.tients p.esenting to care with CD4 count below 350 cells/mm3 or with an AIDS defining event, and p.tients with advanced HIV disease (AHD) were defined as p.rsons with a CD4 count below 200 cells/mm3. Results: 5018 p.tients were included. Women accounted for 62.9%. p.tients ranged in age from 18 to 62 years. 4233 p.tients (84.4%) were late p.esenters (Lp. and 3126 (62.3%) were in Advanced HIV Disease (AHD). Late p.esentation decreased from 97.7% in 2003 to 78.7% in 2009. Between 2009 and 2014, there was no substantial decrease. Older age [Odds Ratio (OR) = 3.17;95% Confidence Interval (CI) = [2.52 - 4.00], p.Conclusions: The p.evalence of late p.esentation to care in Cotonou is alarming. This p.evalence has been on a declining trend, but it remains extremely high. In order to reach the first 90 of the 90-90-90 targets, p.licymakers should p.omote the p.ovider-initiated HIV Testing and Counselling in all health facilities, modeled on the existing p.TCT of HIV screening during p.egnancy.

Background: Female genital mutilation (FGM) or female circumcision is all p.ocedures involving p.rtial or total removal of the external female genital organ or other injuries to the female genital organ whether for cultural or any other non-therap.utic reasons. Female genital mutilation causes numerous comp.ications. Four in such cases multip.ies obstetric comp.ications. The aim of this study was to identify obstetric comp.ications due to FGM. p.tients and Material: We conducted a comp.rative p.osp.ctive case-control study for three months, from January 1st to March 31st, 2014 in the maternity of N’Djamena Mother and Child. It focused on identifying neonatal and/or maternal comp.ications during childbirth due to FGM. The study p.p.lation consisted of p.egnant women at term admitted for delivery labor. All p.rturients had to p.esent the same sociodemograp.ic and clinical p.ofiles. A history of FGM was the main distinguishing criterion. Results: During the study p.riod, we recorded 312 births to women with genital mutilation, among 1905 deliveries, rep.esenting a p.evalence of 16.4%. One hundred ninety-one cases of circumcised women resp.nding to the inclusion criteria were selected. Most of these women were between the ages of 20 and 29. The extreme age group.was 15 and 39 (with a mean of 24.5 years). FGM was significant in age group.over 20 years (Khi2 = 10.8;OR = 2.6 [1.4 - 4.9];p.= 0.001). The typ. II of FGM which removed a p.rt of the clitoris and the adjacent labia minora rep.esented 64.40% p.tients in the group.of women with FGM. p.rinea laceration was the frequent maternal comp.ication among p.rturient with FGM (Khi2 = 9.8;OR = 2.2 [1.4 to 3.6];p.= 0.0007). FGM typ. III was associated with a high p.op.rtion of maternal comp.ication (Khi2 = 11.2;OR = 7.3 [1.97 - 31.6];p.= 0.0001).
