In the paper,the Matlab-Simulink model of simulation of operation of theŽS 413/417 series EMU(electric multiple unit)in traction and braking mode is exposed where changes are observed:stator currents of three-phase traction motors,traction electric motor speeds and EMU,electromagnetic torque on the rotor shaft of the traction electric motor and DC(direct current)bus *** model allowed review of the listed parameters for:different allowed values of contact network voltage and total voltage distortion at the place of connection of the EMU to the contact network,different mechanical loads of EMU and traction electric motor and different train speeds and rotation of traction electric *** conclusions were made through the analysis of the simulation results obtained.

The article considers a conceptual universe model as a periodic lattice (network) with nodes defined by the wave function in a background-independent Hamiltonian based on their relations and interactions. This model gives rise to energy bands, similar to those in semiconductor solid-state models. In this context, valence band holes are described as dark matter particles with a heavy effective mass. The conducting band, with a spontaneously symmetry-breaking energy profile, contains particles with several times lighter effective mass, which can represent luminous matter. Some possible analogies with solid-state physics, such as the comparison between dark and luminous matter, are discussed. Additionally, tiny dark energy, as intrinsic lattice Casimir energy, is calculated for a lattice with a large number of lattice nodes.

The developed auxiliary software serves to simplify, standardize and facilitate the software loading of the structural organization of a complex technological system, as well as its further manipulation within the process of solving the considered technological system. Its help can be especially useful in the case of a complex structural organization of a technological system with a large number of different functional elements grouped into several technological subsystems. This paper presents the results of its application for a special complex technological system related to the reference steam block for the combined production of heat and electricity.

AIM: To investigate autonomic nervous function in patients with a diagnosis of gastroesophageal reflux disease(GErD).METHODS: The investigation was performed on 29patients(14 men), aged 18-80 years(51.14 ± 18.34),who were referred to our Neurocardiology Laboratory at the Clinical and Hospital Center "Bezanijska Kosa"with a diagnosis of GErD. One hundred sixteen healthy volunteers matched in age and sex with the examinees served as the control group. The study protocol included the evaluation of autonomic function and hemodynamic status, short-term heart rate variability(HrV) analysis, 24 h ambulatory ECG monitoring with long-term HrV analysis and 24 h ambulatory blood pressure ***: Pathologic results of cardiovascular reflex test were more common among patients with reflux compared to the control group. Severe autonomic dysfunction was detected in 44.4% of patients and in7.9% of controls(P rameters of short-term analysis of rr variability, which are the indicators ofvagal activity, had lower values in patients with GErD than in the control group. Long-term HrV analysis of time-domain parameters indicated lower values in patients with reflux disease when compared to the control group. Power spectral analysis of long-term HrV revealed lower low- and high-frequency *** 24 h ambulatory blood pressure analysis showed significantly higher values of systolic blood pressure and pulse pressure in the reflux group than in the control ***: Patients with GErD have distortion of sympathetic and parasympathetic components of the autonomic nervous system, but impaired parasympathetic function appears more congruent to GErD.

Carcinosarcomas are rare,malignant,biphasic tumors. We report the case of a 62-year-old man with gastric carcinosarcoma,along with its clinical,macroscopic and histopathological features. Macroscopically,a specimen of deformed stomach was obtained that measured 200 mm×150 mm×100 mm. A 150 mm×100 mm× 50 mm exophytic tumoral mass (Borrmann typeⅠ) was found,which involved the posterior wall from the cardia to the antrum. Histopathologically,a mixed type of malignancy was revealed: an adenocarcinoma with intestinal metaplasia,with interposed fascicles of fusiform atypical cells and numerous large,rounded and oval cells. The tumor showed positive histochemistry for cytokeratin 18,epithelial membrane antigen,carcinoembryonic antigen,chromogranin A and vimentin. Liver metastases were diagnosed 8 mo postoperatively,and the patient died 4 mo later. A review of the available literature is also presented.

Genetic differentiation in functional traits among wild cherry (Prunus avium L.) half-sib lines

Understanding intra-specific variation in leaf functional traits is one of the key requirements for the evaluation of species adaptive capacity to ongoing climate change, as well as for designing long-term breeding and conservation strategies. Hence, data of 19 functional traits describing plant physiology, antioxidant properties, anatomy and morphology were determined on 1-year-old seedlings of wild cherry (Prunus avium L.) half-sib lines. The variability within and among half-sib lines, as well as the estimation of multi-trait association, were examined using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey's honestly significant difference test and multivariate analyses: principal component analysis (PCA), canonical discriminant analysis (CDA) and stepwise discriminant analysis (SDA). Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to evaluate linear correlation between the study parameters. The results of the ANOVA showed the presence of statistically significant differences (P r all study traits. The differences within half-sib lines, observed through the contribution of the examined sources of variation to the total variance (%), had higher impact on total variation in the majority of the examined traits. Pearson’s correlation analysis and PCA showed strong relationships between gas exchange in plants and leaf size and stomatal density, as well as between leaf biomass accumulation, intercellular CO_(2) concentration and parameters related to antioxidant capacity of plants. Likewise, the results of SDA indicate that transpiration and stomatal conductance contributed to the largest extent, to the discrimination of the wild cherry half-sib lines. In addition, PCA and CDA showed separation of the wild cherry half-sib lines along the first principal component and first canonical variable with regards to humidity of their original sites. Introduction: Polymicrogyria, the appearance of irregular small and over numbered gyri on the surface of the brain, has been reported as the most frequent finding, when exists, on the temporal lobe. Case Presentation: A patient, male, age of 35, came to the regular head and brain MrI scan due to psychiatric and hormonal treatment within transsexualism. There were no data of epilepsy in a patient’s history. MrI scans were acquired with a 1.5 T Siemens Magnetom system with a standard head coil. Three-dimensional 3D rAGE, contiguous 1.0 mm slice, and 1 acquisition sequence underwent final 3D rendering and subsequent volumetry. On the definitive 3D image, we have revealed an unusual gyrisation on the left temporal lobe which had a picture of partial polymicrogyria. Conclusion: This is a unique finding, to our knowledge, of the unilateral temporal polymicrogyria in a person with transsexualism. Although polymicrogyria is mostly related to epileptifom attacks, its impact on the transsexualism appearance is opened to be examined.

Depression and anxiety levels in therapy-nave patients with inflammatory bowel disease and cancer of the colon

AIM: To assess whether depression and anxiety are more expressed in patients with the first episode of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) than in individuals with newly discovered cancer of the colon (CCa). METHODS: A total of 32 patients with IBD including 13 males and 19 females, aged 27 to 74, and 30 patients with CCa including 20 males and 10 females, aged 39-78, underwent a structured interview, which comprised Hamilton’s Depression rating Inventory, Hamilton’s Anxiety rating Inventory and Paykel’s Stressful Events rating Scale. rESULTS: Patients of the IBD group expressed both depression and anxiety. Depressive mood, sense of guilt, psychomotor retardation and somatic anxiety were also more pronounced in IBD patients. The discriminant function analysis revealed the total depressive score was of high importance for the classification of a newly diagnosed patient into one of the groups. CONCLUSION: Newly diagnosed patients with IBD have higher levels of depression and anxiety. Moreover, a psychiatrist in the treatment team is advisable from the beginning.
