Patients Transportation in Surgery Scheduling Problem

The scheduling problem in surgery is difficult because, in addition of the planning of the operating rooms which are the most expensive resources in hospitals, each surgery requires a combination of human and material resources. In this paper, the authors address a surgery scheduling problem which arises in operated health care facility. Moreover, the authors consider simultaneously materiel and human resources. This problem is a three-stages flow shop scheduling environment. The first stage(ward) contains a limited number of resources of the same type(beds);The second stage contains different resources with limited capacity(operating rooms, surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists)and the third stage contains a limited number of recovery beds. There is also a limited number of transporters(porters) between the ward and the other stages. The objective of the problem is to minimize the completion time of the last patient(makespan). The authors formulate this NP-Hard problem in a mixed integer programming model and conduct computational experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed model.

This paper introduces a recursive identification methods toolbox(called RIM) running under Matlab environment for dynamic system identification from available data. The RIM includes many methods which are generally used. The RIM helps users to validate the theoretical results and to carry out comparison between identifications methods without the need of algorithms programming. Furthermore, the RIM can be used as an education platform to study the identification parameters effect on model validity and results accuracy. To show its performance and capability, the RIM is evaluated through many application examples.

Credit scoring is one of the key problems in financial risk *** paper studies the credit scoring problem based on the set-valued identification method,which is used to explain the relation between the individual attribute vectors and classification for the credit worthy and credit worthless *** particular,system parameters are estimated by the set-valued identification algorithm based on a given recognition *** order to illustrate the efficiency of the proposed method,practical experiments are conducted for credit card applicants of Australia and credit card holders from Taiwan,*** empirical results show that the set-valued model has a higher prediction accuracy on both small and large numbers of data set compared with logistic regression ***,parameters estimated by the set-valued identification method are more stable,which provide a meaningful and logical explanation for extracting factors that influence the borrowers’credit scorings.

Two-Way Interactions Between Equatorially-Trapped Waves and the Barotropic Flow

Lateral energy exchange between the tropics and the midlatitudes is a topic of great importance for understanding Earth＇s climate system. In this paper, the authors address this issue in an idealized set up through simple shallow water models for the interactions between equatorially trapped waves and the barotropic mode, which supports Rossby waves that propagate poleward and can excite midlatitude teleconnection patterns. It is found here that the interactions between a Kelvin wave and a fixed meridionai shear （mimicking the jet stream） generates a non-trivial meridional velocity and meridional convergence in phase with the upward motion that can attain a maximum of about 50%, which oscillates on frequencies ranging from one day to 10 days. When, on the other hand, the barotropic flow is forced by slowly propagating Kelvin waves a complex flow pattern emerges; it consists of a phase-locked barotropic response that is equatoriaily trapped and that propagates eastward with the forcing Kelvin wave and a certain number of planetary Rossby waves that propagate westward and toward the poles as seen in nature. It is suggested here that the poleward propagating waves are to some sort of multi-way resonant interaction with the phase locked response. Moreover, it is shown here that a numerical scheme with dispersion properties that depend on the direction perpendicular to the direction of propagation, namely the 2D central scheme of Nessyahu and Tadmor, can artificially alter significantly the topology of the wave fields and thus should be avoided in climate models.

PLANTS,POLLINATORS,AND BIODIVERSITY:THESTATUSQUO Plant-pollinator coevolution has played a crucial role in shaping the biodiversity of ecosystems that we know ***,plants and pollinators are key to agriculture,contributing to the production of most fruits and vegetables necessary for healthy human ***,over the last decades,there is mounting evidence of pollinator decline all over the world,which constitutes a major threat to food security(European Commission,2020).To pollinators,nectar and pollen are the main rewards:pollen is essentially their only source of proteins,lipids,and vitamins,while nectar is a carbohydrate-rich solution that they use to fuel somatic functions(Ollerton,2021).However,nectar is much more than just a sweet solution:it comprises a plethora of secondary metabolites and volatiles of major importance for plant-pollinator ***,by neglecting these traits and reducing genetic diversity,plant breeding has potentially increased the risk of losing the traits beneficial to pollinators.

An artificial neural networks modeling,based on spin dynamics,has been proposed to predict the 2D ferromagnetic *** purpose is to establish an artificial neural network model(ANNM),which is able to predict the ordered magnetic *** crystal surfaces,Wood’s notation is used to describe different *** the magnons dispersion curves and group velocity data of 2D spins crystallographic waveguide,we deduce the data used as an up input-output set to feed the *** input data are being given by the magnons modes over high symmetry points,or,by the group velocity of the magnon ***,the basis vectors of matrix notation and the rotation angle that aligns the unit cell of the reconstructed surface are giving the output *** proposed neurocomputing model was capable of predicting the 2D crystals for the possible arrangements that the surface might *** addition,the magnon excitations data were a useful approach for building a neural model which was able to predict and classify the magnetic surfaces of the crystals.

This paper analyzes the possibility to discriminate between convective precipitation and stratiform precipitation. This study aims to improve the measurement of rainfall from teledetection data obtained both on the ground and in space. For this, two parameters, fractal dimension and fractal lacunarity, are considered. To calculate the fractal dimension, we use the approach of box-counting and show that the fractal dimension differs between convectives cells and stratiforms ones. And then the fractal lacunarity parameter is calculated by using the sliding boxes algorithm. The study for all the regions shows that precipitation cells can be described by different lacunarities whatever the scale of analysis. We deduce that the two parameters, fractal dimension and fractal lacunarity, can be used to classify precipitations in convective regime and stratiform regime.

The intrinsic factors such as the visual constraints, extrinsic such as biomechanics, interface such as the support: the writing, the linguistics, the typography, the sense of progress of the language, have their impact on the habit, and the fittest and particularly the efficiency in reading. We suspect that circuits and zones involved in horizontal orientation “right to the left” are not the same the other way around hanging the linguistic collection. Reading Arabic provided with a specific difference in vocalization proves to be a valuable model verification two major issues which arouse language perception: [lexical processing: is it instantaneous (visual memory) or delayed (memory-tampon)? ···]. And a comparison with other models of language detection mechanisms and brain areas mnemonics which is involved in making information. Results are significatively: children vocalized mode is best seen. It must extend the duration of the mode without vowels. In our opinion, our study is original, and we introduced what a valuable tool in the diagnosis of visual and cognitive strategy by the biotechnology technical based on variations in terms of reading. This opens a horizon of opportunity for the application of the method to the Arabic language to determine the differences in eye size reflecting the effects of task variables in reading and a comparative study of other languages.
