Despite the well-established benefits of regular physical activity(PA)on health,a large proportion of the world population does not achieve the recommended level of regular *** affective experiences toward PA may play a key role to foster a sustained engagement in PA,they have been largely overlooked and crudely measured in the existing *** address this shortcoming,the Affective Exercise Experiences(AFFEXX)questionnaire has been developed to measure such ***,this questionnaire was developped to assess the following three domains:antecedent appraisals(e.g.,liking *** exercise in groups),core affective exercise experiences(i.e.,pleasure ***,energy ***,and calmness ***),and exercise motivation(i.e.,attraction *** toward exercise).The current study aimed to validate a Chinese version of the AFFEXX questionnaire(AFFEXX-C).In study 1,722 Chinese college students provided data for analyses of factorial,convergent,discriminant,criterion validity,and test-retest reliability of the *** addition,1,300 college students were recruited in study 2 to further validate its structural *** showed that the AFFEXX-C demonstrates a goodfit and ***,results further supported the hypothesized model based on previous research:antecedent appraisals predicted core affective exercise experiences,which in turn predicted attraction-antipathy toward physical *** AFFEXX-C was found to be a reliable and valid measure of affective exercise experiences in a population of Chinese college students.

Background:There is a growing interest to understand the neurobiological mechanisms that drive the positive associations of physical activity and fitness with measures of cognitive *** better understand those mechanisms,several studies have employed eye-based measures(e.g., eye movement measures such as saccades,pupillary measures such as pupil dilation,and vascular measures such as retinal vessel diameter)deemed to be proxies for specific neurobiological ***,there is currently no systematic review providing a comprehensive overview of these studies in the field of exercise-cognition ***,this review aimed to address that gap in the ***:To identify eligible studies,we searched 5 electronic databases on October 23,*** researchers independently extracted data and assessed the risk of bias using a modified version of the Tool for the assEssment of Study qualiTy and reporting in EXercise(TESTEX scale,for interventional studies) and the critical appraisal tool from the Joanna Briggs Institute(for cross-sectional studies).Results:Our systematic review(n=35 studies) offers the following main findings:(a) there is insufficient evidence available to draw solid conclusions concerning gaze-fixation-based measures;(b) the evidence that pupillometric measures,which are a proxy for the noradrenergic system,can explain the positive effect of acute exercise and cardiorespiratory fitness on cognitive performance is mixed;(c) physical training-or fitness-related changes of the cerebrovascular system(operationalized via changes in retinal vasculature) are,in general,positively associated with cognitive performance improvements;(d) acute and chronic physical exercises show a positive effect based on an oculomotor-based measure function(operationalized via antisaccade tasks);and(e) the positive association between cardiorespiratory fitness and cognitive performance is partly mediated by the dopaminergic system(operationalized via spo

The design and synthesis of plasmonic nanoparticles with Raman-active molecules embedded inside them are of significant interest for sensing and imaging applications. However, direct synthesis of such nanostructures with controllable shape, size, and plasmonic properties remains extremely challenging. Here we report on the preparation of uniform Au@Ag core/sheU nanorods with controllable Ag shells of 1 to 25 nm in thickness. 1,4-Aminothiophenol （4-ATP） molecules, used as the Raman reporters, were located between the Au core and the Ag shell. Successful embedding of reporter molecules inside the core/shell nanoparticles was confirmed by the absence of selective oxidation of the amino groups, as measured by Raman spectroscopy. The dependence of Raman intensity on the location of the reporter molecules in the inside and outside of the nanorods was studied. The molecules in the interior showed strong and uniform Raman intensity, at least an order of magnitude higher than that of the molecules on the nanoparticle surface. In contrast to the usual surface-functionalized Raman tags, aggregation and clustering of nanoparticles with embedded molecules decreased the surface-enhanced Raman scattering （SERS） signal. The findings from this study provide the basis for a novel detection technique of low analyte concentration utilizing the high SERS response of molecules inside the core/shell metal nanostructures. As an example, we show robust SERS detection of thiram fungicide as low as 10-9 M in solutions.

A linear system arising from a polynomial problem in the approximation theory is studied, and the necessary and sufficient conditions for existence and uniqueness of its solutions are presented. Together with a class of determinant identities, the resulting theory is used to determine the unique solution to the polynomial problem. Some homogeneous polynomial identities as well as results on the structure of related polynomial ideals are just by-products.

In a previous work, we described the Minimal Model Program in the family of Q-Gorenstein projective horospherical varieties, by studying certain continuous changes of moment polytopes of polarized horospherical varieties. Here, we summarize the results of the previous work and we explain how to generalize them in order to describe the Log Minimal Model Program for pairs（X, Δ） when X is a projective horospherical variety.

So there I was, 35 years old and at the crossroads of my scientific career. The current academic system in the Netherlands, like in many other places around the world （Powell, 2015）, is not designed to have scientists staying in a postdoc position forever. So, you are either deemed good enough to become a permanent staff member, or you have to leave academia at some point and try your luck in a pharmaceutical company or elsewhere. I had not succeeded in the former, but I also did not want to do the latter, so I took a less threaded path and headed to China.
