BACKGROUND： Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt（TIPS） and open splenectomy and esophagogastric devascularization（OSED） are widely used to treat patients with portal hypertension and recurrent variceal bleeding（PHRVB）. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness between TIPS and OSED for the treatment of ***： The data were retrospectively retrieved from 479 cirrhotic patients（Child-Pugh A or B class） with PHRVB, who had undergone TIPS（TIPS group） or OSED（OSED group） between January 1, 2010 and October 31, ***： A total of 196 patients received TIPS, whereas 283 underwent OSED. Within one month after TIPS and OSED, the rebleeding rates were 6.1% and 3.2%, respectively（P=0.122）. Significantly lower incidence of pleural effusion,splenic vein thrombosis, and pulmonary infection, as well as higher hepatic encephalopathy rate, shorter postoperative length of hospital stay, and higher hospital costs were observed in the TIPS group than those in the OSED group. During the follow-up periods（29 months）, significantly higher incidences of rebleeding（15.3% vs 4.6%, P=0.001） and hepatic encephalopathy（17.3% vs 3.9%, P=0.001） were observed in the TIPS group than in the OSED group. The incidence of instent stenosis was 18.9%. The survival rates were 91.3% in the TIPS group and 95.1% in the OSED group. The long-term liver function did not worsen after either TIPS or ***： For the patients with liver function in the Child-Pugh A or B class, TIPS is not superior over OSED in terms of PHRVB treatment and rebleeding prevention.

AIM:To evaluate whether antecolic reconstruction for duodenojejunostomy (DJ) can decrease delayed gastric emptying (DGE) rate after pylorus-preserving pancreaticoduodenectomy (PPPD) through literature review and meta-analysis. METHODS:Articles published between January 1991 and April 2012 comparing antecolic and retrocolic reconstruction for DJ after PPPD were retrieved from the databases of MEDLINE (PubMed), EMBASE, OVID and Cochrane Library Central. The primary outcome of interest was DGE. Either fixed effects model or random effects model was used to assess the pooled effect based on the heterogeneity. RESULTS:Five articles were identified for inclusion:two randomized controlled trials and three non-randomized controlled trials. The meta-analysis revealed that antecolic reconstruction for DJ after PPPD was associated with a statistically significant decrease in the incidence of DGE [odds ratio (OR), 0.06; 95% CI, 0.02-0.17; P length of postoperative hospital stay (MD, -9.08; 95% CI, -21.28 to 3.11; P = 0.14). CONCLUSION:Antecolic reconstruction for DJ can decrease the DGE rate after PPPD.

Objectives To compare the postoperative complications and survival of standard pancreatoduodenectomy （SPD） and extended pancreatoduodenectomy （EPD） in patients with resectable adenocarcinoma of the head of the pancreas. Methods Between January 1994 and December 2011, 165 patients with biopsy-proven adenocardnoma of the pancreatic head were treated in West China Hospital, among whom 93 underwent SPD and 72 had EPD. Complications and survival after the surgery were analyzed retrospectively. Results The median operation time of the EPD group was longer compared with the SPD group （375 minutes vs. 310 minutes, P〈O.O1）, the volume of blood transfusion was larger （700 mL vs. 400 mL, P〈0.05）, while the median hospital stay （13.5 days vs. 12 days, P = 0.79） and the total complication rates were comparable （34.7% vs. 32.4%, P=0.93）. The total recurrence rates of the SPD and EPD groups were not significantly different （52.7% vs. 43.1%, P=0,83）. No significant differences were found between the SPD and EPD groups in 1-year （81.7% vs. 86.1%）, 3-year （38.7% vs. 43.1%）, 5-year （16.7% vs. 19.4%）, and median survivals （19.8 months vs. 23.2 months, P= 0.52）. Conclusion The postoperative complications and survival donot differ significantly between SPD and EPD.

In this study,a structure-optimized two-phase microchannel heat sink with sintered submicron nucleation sites was developed and *** copper-based microchannels had a rectangular cross-section with an equivalent hydraulic diameter of 222μ*** subcooled flow boiling characteristics were comprehensively compared between pure HFE-7100 and a non-azeotropic,immiscible binary mixture of HFE-7100 and water,considering heating areas of 1 and 5 cm^(2).The total heating power input to the test section were 100–1500 and 250–3000 W for a 1 and 5 cm^(2)heat source,respectively,with a flow rate ranging from 50 to150 L/*** to pure HFE-7100,the non-azeotropic immiscible binary mixture of HFE-7100/water in the sintered porous microchannels exhibited a much higher overall heat transfer coefficient and lower power *** maintain the junction temperature of a high power electronic chip below 85℃,the proposed supercapillary microchannel heat sink could effectively dissipate the heat flux of 1275 W/cm^(2)over 1 cm^(2)heat source and 500 W/cm^(2)over 5 cm^(2)heat *** addition,the volume ratio of the binary mixture strongly influence the two-phase flow heat transfer *** optimal volume ratio exist in terms of the thermal resistance–pumping power minimization(HFE-7100:water=2:8 is recommended in this study).The findings of this investigation on the flow boiling properties of non-azeotropic immiscible mixtures help fill a gap in the related field.

Metabolic network construction plays a pivotal role in unraveling the regulatory mechanism of biological activities,although it often proves to be challenging and labor-intensive,particularly with non-model *** this study,we develop a computational approach that employs reaction models based on the structure-guided chemical modification and related compounds to construct a metabolic network in *** construction results in a comprehensive structure-guided network,including 625 identified metabolites and additional 333 putative reactions compared with the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes *** a combination of gene annotation,reaction classification,structure similarity,and correlations from transcriptome and metabolome analysis,a total of 229 potential genes related to these reactions are identified within this *** validate the network,the functionality of a hydroxycinnamoyltransferase(TraesCS3D01G314900)for the synthesis of polyphenols and a rhamnosyltransferase(TraesCS2D01G078700)for the modification of flavonoids are verified through in vitro enzymatic studies and wheat mutant tests,*** research thus supports the utility of structure-guided chemical modification as an effective tool in identifying causal candidate genes for constructing metabolic networks and further in metabolomic genetic studies.

Electrolytic water splitting(EWS)is an attractive and promising technique for the production of hydrogen ***,the sluggish kinetic rate of hydrogen/oxygen evolution reactions leads to a high overpotential and low energy *** to date,Pt/Ir-based nanocatalysts have become the state-of-the-art EWS catalysts,but disadvantages such as high cost and low earth abundance greatly limit their applications in EWS *** an attractive candidate for the Pt/Ir catalysts,series of Ru-based nanomaterials have aroused much attention for their low price,Pt-like hydrogen bond strength,and high EWS *** particular,Ru-doped functional porous materials have been becoming one of the most representative EWS catalysts,which can not only achieve the dispersion and adjustment for active Ru sites,but also simultaneously solve the problems of mass transfer and catalytic conversion in *** this review,the design and preparation strategies of Ru-doped functional porous materials toward EWS in recent years are summarized,including Ru-doped metal organic frameworks(MOFs),Ru-doped porous organic polymers(POPs),and their ***,detailed structure–activity relationships induced by the tuned geometric/electronic structures of Ru-doped functional porous materials are further depicted in this *** but not least,the challenges and perspectives of Ru-doped functional porous materials catalysts are reasonably proposed to provide fresh ideas for the design of Ru-based EWS catalysts.

The incorporation of dynamic covalent bonds into thermosets facilitates the reprocessing of polymer networks, thereby meeting the sustainable requirements for polymer recycling. However, the mechanical properties of many materials often decline significantly upon reprocessing due to side reactions caused by harsh processing conditions. In this work, we find that the aromatic dithiocarbamate bond can undergo dissociation under mild conditions without the need for a catalyst, enabling the efficient reprocessing of the corresponding *** a consequence, the mechanical properties of the polydithiourethane can be largely preserved after reprocessing. The discovery of this dynamic chemistry is anticipated to broaden the potential for material design in dynamic covalent polymer networks.

The experiment employed the use of melt purification and cyclic superheating technique to achieve maximum undercooling of Ni65Cu31Co4 alloy at ***,high-speed photography techniques were used to capture the process of alloy liquid phase interface migration,and analyzed the relationship between the shape characteristics of the front end of alloy solidification and *** microstructure of the alloy was observed through metallographic microscopy,and the micro-morphological characteristics and evolution of the rapidly solidified microstructure were systematically *** is found that the grain refinement mechanism of Ni-Cu-Co ternary alloy is similar to that of Ni-Cu binary *** refinement at low undercooling is caused by intense dendritic remelting,while grain refinement at high undercooling is attributed to recrystallization,driven by the stress and plastic strain accumulated from the interaction of liquid flow and primary dendrites caused by rapid *** also shows that the addition of the third element Co plays a significant role in solidification rate and re-ignition effect.
