Cellular automata basedmulti-bit stuck-at fault diagnosis for resistive memory

This paper presents a group-based dynamic stuck-at fault diagnosis scheme intended for resistive randomaccess memory(ReRAM).Traditional static random-access memory,dynamic random-access memory,NAND,and NOR flash memory are limited by their scalability,power,package density,and so ***-generation memory types like ReRAMs are considered to have various advantages such as high package density,non-volatility,scalability,and low power consumption,but cell reliability has been a *** memory operation is caused by permanent stuck-at faults due to extensive use of write-or memory-intensive *** increased number of stuck-at faults also prematurely limit chip ***,a cellular automaton(CA)based dynamic stuck-at fault-tolerant design is proposed here to combat unreliable cell functioning and variable cell lifetime issues.A scalable,block-level fault diagnosis and recovery scheme is introduced to ensure readable data despite multi-bit stuck-at *** scheme is a novel approach because its goal is to remove all the restrictions on the number and nature of stuck-at faults in general fault *** proposed scheme is based on Wolfram’s null boundary and periodic boundary CA *** special classes of CAs are introduced for 100%fault tolerance:single-lengthcycle single-attractor cellular automata(SACAs),single-length-cycle two-attractor cellular automata(TACAs),and single-length-cycle multiple-attractor cellular automata(MACAs).The target micro-architectural unit is designed with optimal space overhead.

Enhanced elevated temperature wear resistance of Al-17Si-5Cu alloy after a novel short duration heat treatment

The goal of the present study is to improve the elevated temperature wear resistance of an Al-17 wt%Si-5 wt%Cu alloy(AR alloy) by a novel short duration heat treatment process. The elevated temperature(100°C) dry sliding wear behavior of an AR alloy was studied after microstructural modification using the proposed heat treatment. The study revealed considerable microstructural modifications after the heat treatment and the heat treated alloy was designated as HT(heat treatment) alloy. A higher hardness value was obtained for the HT alloy compared to the AR alloy. Accordingly, the wear rate for the HT alloy was found to be significantly lower compared to the as-cast AR alloy at all applied loads. Accelerated particle pull-out for the AR alloy at elevated temperatures resulted in poor wear behavior for it compared to the HT alloy. On the other hand, the Si particles remained intact on the worn surface of the HT alloy due to the good particle/matrix bonding that resulted from the isothermal heat treatment. Furthermore, the age hardening that occurred in the HT alloy during wear provided additional wear resistance. Thus, the HT alloy at 100°C exhibited a lower wear rate compared to the AR alloy even at room temperature for all applied loads. This improvement was attributed to microstructural modification upon isothermal heat treatment along with the age hardening effect.

An Approach to Optimize the Path of Humanoids using Adaptive Ant Colony Optimization

In the emerging area of humanoid robotics, path planning and autonomous navigation have evolved as one of the most promising area of research. This paper deals with the design and development of a novel navigational controller to guide humanoids in cluttered envi- ronments. The basic parameters of the ant colony optimization technique have been modified to have enhanced control as Adaptive Ant Colony Optimization （AACO）. The controller that has been implemented in the humanoids receives sensory information about obstacle distances as inputs and provides required turning angle as output to reach the specified target position. The proposed controller has been tested in both simulated and experimental environments created trader laboratory conditions, and a good agreement has been observed between the simulation and experiment results. Here, both static and dynamic path planning have been attempted. Finally, the proposed controller has also been tested against other existing techniques to validate the efficiency of the AACO in path planning problems.

With the increasing use of humanoid robots in several sectors of industrial automation and manufacturing, navigation and path planning of humanoids has emerged as one of the most promising area of research. In this paper, a navigational controller has been developed for a humanoid by using fuzzy logic as an intelligent algorithm for avoiding the obstacles present in the environment and reach the desired target position safely. Here, the controller has been designed by careful consideration of the navigational parameters by the help of fuzzy rules. The sensory information regarding obstacle distances and bearing angle towards the target are considered as inputs to the controller and necessary velocities for avoiding the obstacles are obtained as outputs. The working of the controller has been tested on a NAO humanoid robot in V-REP simulation platform. To validate the simulation results, an experimental platform has been designed under laboratory conditions, and experimental analysis has been ***, the results obtained from both the environments are compared against each other with a good agreement between them.

Development and evaluation of robust tree biomass equations for rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) plantations in India

Background： In India, rubber（Hevea brasiliensis） plantations cover -0.8 million ha of land, emphasizing its significant role in the Earth＇s carbon dynamics. Therefore, it is important to estimate the biomass stocks of plantations precisely in the context of carbon management. Previous studies in India have focused on development of allometric equations for estimating aboveground biomass（AGB） through harvesting younger trees（up to 14 yr）only or on studies with small sample sizes without assessing model bias. The objective of this study was to develop biomass estimation models for different tree components in rubber plantations and assess model predictive performance at the stand ***： A total of 67 trees were harvested from plantations of different ages（6, 15, 27 and 34 yr） in North East India and their diameter at 200 cm（D）, height and dry weights of different tree components were recorded. The data were used for evaluation of H-D and biomass estimation models at the stand ***： The Michaelis-Menten function was found to be the most appropriate model for estimating tree height among 10 commonly used H-D models. For estimation of AGB and coarse root biomass, a model that involves tree volume（i.e. D2 H） was found to provide better prediction than either D or H alone or a model that combines H, D and stand density. The estimated AGB varied from 28 Mg·ha-（-1） in 6 yr. old plantation to 169 Mg·ha-（-1） in 34 yr. old *** coarse root biomass was estimated at 4 Mg·ha-（-1） for 6 yr. old plantation and 12 Mg·ha-（-1） for 34 yr. old ***： It is concluded that models involving tree volume are more appropriate for regional level biomass estimation than simple power-law models for individual stands. We recommend that the power-law model should not be used for estimation of AGB in plantations at different growth stages because power-law parameters can be biased due to data truncation.

Abrupt change of dielectric properties in mullite due to titanium and strontium incorporation by sol-gel method

Highly crystallized mullite has been achieved at temperatures of 1100℃and 1400℃by sol-gel technique in presence of titanium and strontium ions of different concentrations:G_(0)=0 M,G_(1)=0.002 M,G_(2)=0.01 M,G_(3)=0.02 M,G_(4)=0.1 M,G_(5)=0.2 M and G6=0.5 M.X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),LCR meter characterized the *** formation was found to depend on the concentration of the *** dielectric properties(dielectric constant,loss tangent and AC conductivity)of the composites have been measured,and their variation with increasing frequency and concentration of the doped metals was *** the experiments were performed at room *** composites showed maximum dielectric constants of 24.42 and 37.6 at 1400℃of 0.01 M concentration for titanium and strontium ions at 2 MHz,*** to the perfect nature of the doped mullite,it can be used for the fabrication of high charge storing capacitors and also as ceramic capacitors in the pico range.

Improvement in dry sliding wear resistance of Al-17Si-5Cu alloy after an enhanced heat treatment process

To improve the wear resistance of cast Al?17Si?5Cu alloy(AR alloy),isothermal heat treatment is employed to modify the morphology of Si particles(particularly eutectic Si particles).Furthermore,wear behaviour of heat-treated alloy(HT alloy)along with AR alloy is studied using a pin-on-disc *** surfaces are then characterised using scanning electron *** result reveals considerable microstructural modifications after the heat ***,higher hardness value in HT alloy is obtained compared with AR *** overall wear rate for HT alloy is found to be significantly lower compared with AR alloy at all the applied loads,indicating remarkable improvement in wear *** Si particles become from acicular/rod-like to spherical/equiaxed morphology(aspect ratio close to 1)on heat treatment,resulting in good bonding with the ***,they remain intact during wear and being harder,providing resistance to ***,the increased hardness on heat treatment causes further resistance to ***,the combined effect of intact harder Si particles on the wearing surface and higher hardness results in superior wear behavior in HT alloy at all loads compared with AR alloy.

This study aimed to assess the microbiological quality of 159 animal-and plant-based ready-to-cook(RTC)frozen food items currently popular in *** analyses were carried out to enumerate total aerobic counts of mesophilic bacteria,yeast and mold and to detect some common foodborne pathogens according to standard microbiological *** microbial loads in all animal-based food types,other than chicken strips were *** contrast,plant-based items were relatively safe except paratha,dal-puri,rooti chapati,and *** common pathogenic bacterial species were screened by analyzing their morphological,cultural,and biochemical *** coli was prevalent in most samples,while Salmonella species were least reported.A considerable number of samples exhibited enough microbial loads at infection or intoxication levels.

Objective:To identify genotypes of Oesophagostmum venulosum(***) prevailing in West Bengal,India by comparing variation of nucleotide sequences among 28S ***: PCR amplification of partial segment of 28 S rRNA sequence and analysis of sequence amplified product by single strand conformation polymorphism(SSCP).Results:Two distinct conformers among male and female parasites were identified by PCR-SSCP *** analysis among conformers revealed the presence of five single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP) in codon 64,66,86,125 and *** RNA prediction structure showed that out of 5 SNPs,4 occurred at interior loop of RNA which confirmed evolutionary changes among isolates prevailing in this ***:SNPs occured in different isolates of *** might influence critical changes in rRNA folding pattern which influence evolutionary changes among isolates.
