Predicting effects of tunnel throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow by a continuum model

Fluid flow throttling is common in industrial and building services *** tunnel throttling of vehicular flow is caused by the abrupt number reduction of roadway lane,as the tunnel has a lower lane number th.n in the roadway normal *** predict the effects of tunnel throttling of annular freeway vehicular flow,a three-lane continuum model is ***Ⅲof the tunnel is completely blocked due to the need of tunnel rehabilitation,*** exists mandatory net lane-ch.nging rate from laneⅢto laneⅡjust upstream of the tunnel entrance,which is described by a model of random number generated through a golden section *** net-ch.nging rate between adjacent lanes is modeled using a lane-ch.nging time expressed explicitly in algebraic *** paper assumes that the annular freeway has a total length of 100 km,a two-lane tunnel of length 2 km with a speed limit of 80 km/*** free flow speeds on lanesⅠ,ⅡandⅢare assumed to be 110,100 and 90 km/h *** on the three-lane continuum model,numerical simulations of vehicular flows on the annular freeway with such a tunnel are conducted with a reliable numerical method of 3rd-order *** results reveal that the vehicular flow has a smaller threshold of traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tunnel *** fuel consumption can be estimated by interpolation with time averaged grid traffic speed and an assumed curve of vehicle *** vehicle fuel consumption is lane number dependent,distributes with initial density concavely,ranging from 5.56 to 8.00 *** throttling leads to an earlier traffic jam formation in comparison with the case without tunnel throttling.

This paper validates the optimal operation for a grid-connected double-fed induction generator(DFIG)in an oscillating water column power plant(OWCPP).This study presents a novel optimization technique called the circulatory system-based optimization(CSBO)approach to develop six adaptive fuzzy logic controllers(AFLCs)with 30 parameters and compare them to chaotic-billiards optimization(C-BO)and genetic algorithm(GA).The proposed controller is also compared with a proportional-integral differential(PID)controller based on a self-adaptive global-best harmony search(SGhS).CSBO-based AFLCs are fully investigated under different scenarios and experimented with using a real-time interface *** results of using CSBO-AFLCs revealed a fast time response,fast convergence,less overshoot and minimal error compared with those achieved with C-BO-AFLC,SGhS-PID and GA-AFLC during different case *** CSBO-based AFLCs ensure maximum power from the DFIG in an OWCPP and enh.nce dynamic response with very low *** results show that the CSBO shows better power tracking by 25%as compared with C-BO,by 45%wh.n compared with the GA and by 56%wh.n compared with ***,the integral absolute errors of six controllers are investigated to demonstrate the feasibility of *** root mean square of the errors of six controllers using CSBO is improved by 68.27%wh.n compared with GA,by 22.57%wh.n compared with C-BO and by 38.42%wh.n compared with *** indicators demonstrate the feasibility of CSBO wh.n compared with other algorithms with the same OWCPP.

For the first time,the Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4)(ratio 4:1)destabilized system with CoTiO_(3) addition has been *** CoTiO_(3)-doped Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4) sample begins to dehydrogenate at 130℃,which is declined by 40℃ compared to the undoped Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4).Moreover,the de/rehydrogenation kinetics characteristics of the CoTiO_(3)-doped Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4) were greatly *** the inclusion of CoTiO_(3),the Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4) composite absorbed 5.2 wt.%h_(2),higher th.n undoped Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4).In the context of dehydrogenation,the CoTiO_(3)-doped Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4) sample desorbed 2.6 wt.%h_(2),almost doubled compared to the amount of hydrogen desorbed from the undoped Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4) *** activation energy obtained by the Kissinger analysis for Mgh_(2) decomposition was significantly lower by 35.9 kJ/mol th.n the undoped Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4) *** reaction mech.nism demonstrated that new phases of MgCo and AlTi_(3) were generated in situ during the heating process and are likely to play a substantial catalytic function and be useful in ameliorating the de/rehydrogenation properties of the destabilized Mgh_(2)–naAlh_(4) system with the inclusion of CoTiO_(3).

The poor corrosion and wear resistances of Mg alloys seriously limit their potential applications in various *** conventional epoxy coating easily forms many intrinsic defects during the solidification process,which cannot provide sufficient *** the current study,we design a double-layer epoxy composite coating on Mg alloy with enh.nced anti-corrosion/wear properties,via the spin-assisted assembly *** outer layer is functionalized graph.ne(FG)in waterborne epoxy resin(WEP)and the inner layer is Ce-based conversion(Ce)*** FG sheets can be homogeneously dispersed with.n the epoxy matrix to fill the intrinsic defects and improve the barrier *** Ce film connects the outer layer with the substrate,showing the transition *** corrosion rate of Ce/WEP/FG composite coating is 2131 times lower th.n that of bare Mg alloy,and the wear rate is decreased by~90%.The improved corrosion resistance is attributed to the labyrinth effect(h.ndering the penetration of corrosive medium)and the obstruction of galvanic coupling *** synergistic effect derived from the FG sheet and blocking layer exhibits great potential in realizing the improvement of multi-functional integration,which will open up a new avenue for the development of novel composite protection coatings of Mg alloys.

The prevalence of obesity has increased and is a health concern *** to the concerns regarding synthetic anti-obesity treatments,nowadays natural products become a *** studies proved that there is a potential to use marine algae as anti-obesity ***,in this study,the lipid inhibitory effect of crude polysaccharide of amyloglucosidase-assisted hydrolysate from Sargassum th.nbergii(STAC)and its fucoidan fractions(STAFs)on 3T3-L1 cells and high-fat diet(hFD)-induced obese mice were *** to the results,the STAF3,showed the highest xylose content and exhibited significant inhibitory effects on lipid accumulation by downregulating adipogenic and lipogenic proteins in 3T3-L1 ***,oral supplementation with STAC significantly declined gain in body weight and fat weight,and serum lipid contents in an hFD-induced obesity mouse *** and chemical characterizations demonstrated that puritied STAF3 has consistent surface morphology and small particle size,with similar structural characteristics as commercial ***,these results indicate that STAC and purified STAF3 from Sargassum th.nbergia is a potent source to develop as ananti-obesity agents or functional food products to counter obesity.

Solid strong base catalysts are highly attractive for diverse reactions owing to their advantages of neglectable corrosion,facile separation,and environmental ***,their widespread applications are impeded by basic components aggregation and low *** this work,we fabricate single calcium atoms on graph.ne （denoted as Ca1/G） by use of a redox strategy for the first time,producing solid strong base catalyst with high activity and *** precursor Ca（nO3）2is first reduced to CaO at 400℃ by the support graph.ne,forming CaO/G with conventional basic sites,and the subsequent reduction at 850℃ results in the generation of Ca1/G with atomically dispersed *** characterizations reveal that Ca single atoms are anchored on graph.ne in tetra-coordination （Ca–C2–n2） where n is in situ doped from Ca（nO3）*** atomically dispersed Ca,along with their anchoring on the support,endow Ca1/G with high activity and stability toward the transesterification reaction of ethylene carbonate with *** turnover frequency value reaches 128.0 h-1on Ca1/G,which is much higher th.n the traditional counterpart CaO/G and various reported solid strong bases (2.9–46.2 h-1).Moreover,the activity of Ca1/G is well maintained during 5 cycles,while 60% of activity is lost for the conventional analogue CaO/G due to the leach.ng of Ca.

A novel diurnal and seasonal variation analysis of BTEX in Bengaluru urban area

In the urban atmosphere of Bengaluru, various volatile organic compounds(VOCs), particularly Benzene,Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene(BTEX), have shown an increasing trend in concentration. The present research was conducted during summer and monsoon seasons, focusing on Kadubeesanahalli, a high-traffic area with.n the Bengaluru Metropolitan City. hourly sample data was collected using a BTEX analyzer(Model GC955-600) and subsequently transformed into daily, monthly, and seasonal values. The study revealed distinct patterns in benzene concentrations. Benzene levels were lowest during the early morning hours, specifically from 1:00 *** 7:00 a.m.. Concentrations th.n increased from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,corresponding to the morning and evening peak traffic hours. however, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the concentration decreased due to reduced traffic levels. These diurnal variations in benzene concentration are influenced by meteorological parameters. Comparing the two seasons, higher concentrations of Benzene, EthylBenzene, and MP-xylene were observed during the summer season. This increase is attributed to the elevated temperatures during summer, which promote the vaporization of BTEX compounds. Conversely, lower BTEX concentrations were recorded during the monsoon season due to the wet deposition process. The observed positive correlation(r > 0.5) among BTEX parameters strongly suggests a common source, most likely originating from vehicular emissions.
