STGNN-LMR:A Spatial–Temporal Graph Neural Network Approach Based on sEMG Lower Limb Motion Recognition

Lower limb motion recognition techniques commonly employ Surface Electromyographic Signal(sEMG)as input and apply a machine learning classifier or Back Propagation Neural Network(BPNN)for classification.However,this artificial feature engineering technique is not generalizable to similar tasks and is heavily reliant on the researcher’s subject expertise.In contrast,neural networks such as Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)and Long Short-term Memory Neural Network(LSTM)can automatically extract features,providing a more generalized and adaptable approach to lower limb motion recognition.Although this approach overcomes the limitations of human feature engineering,it may ignore the potential correlation among the sEMG channels.This paper proposes a spatial–temporal graph neural network model,STGNN-LMR,designed to address the problem of recognizing lower limb motion from multi-channel sEMG.STGNN-LMR transforms multi-channel sEMG into a graph structure and uses graph learning to model spatial–temporal features.An 8-channel sEMG dataset is constructed for the experimental stage,and the results show that the STGNN-LMR model achieves a recognition accuracy of 99.71%.Moreover,this paper simulates two unexpected scenarios,including sEMG sensors affected by sweat noise and sudden failure,and evaluates the testing results using hypothesis testing.According to the experimental results,the STGNN-LMR model exhibits a significant advantage over the control models in noise scenarios and failure scenarios.These experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the STGNN-LMR model for addressing the challenges associated with sEMG-based lower limb motion recognition in practical scenarios.

Application of deep learning for informatics aided design of electrode materials in metal-ion batteries

To develop emerging electrode materials and improve the performances of batteries,the machine learning techniques can provide insights to discover,design and develop battery new materials in high-throughput way.In this paper,two deep learning models are developed and trained with two feature groups extracted from the materials Project datasets to predict the battery electrochemical performances including average voltage,speciﬁc capacity and speciﬁc energy.The deep learning models are trained with the multilayer perceptron as the core.The Bayesian optimization and Monte Carlo methods are applied to improve the prediction accuracy of models.Based on 10 types of ion batteries,the correlation coefﬁcients are maintained above 0.9 compared to DFT calculation results and the mean absolute error of the prediction results for voltages of two models can reach 0.41 V and 0.20 V,respectively.The electrochemical performance prediction times for the two trained models on thousands of batteries are only 72.9 ms and 75.7 ms.Besides,the two deep learning models are applied to approach the screening of emerging electrode materials for sodium-ion and potassium-ion batteries.This work can contribute to a high-throughput computational method to accelerate the rational and fast materials discovery and design.

Detecting Double Mixed Compressed Images Based on Quaternion Convolutional Neural Network

Detection of color images that have undergone double compression is a critical aspect of digital image forensics.Despite the existence of various methods capable of detecting double Joint Photographic Experts Group(JPEG) compression,they are unable to address the issue of mixed double compression resulting from the use of different compression standards.In particular,the implementation of Joint Photographic Experts Group 2000(JPEG2000)as the secondary compression standard can result in a decline or complete loss of performance in existing methods.To tackle this challenge of JPEG+JPEG2000 compression,a detection method based on quaternion convolutional neural networks(QCNN) is proposed.The QCNN processes the data as a quaternion,transforming the components of a traditional convolutional neural network(CNN) into a quaternion representation.The relationships between the color channels of the image are preserved,and the utilization of color information is optimized.Additionally,the method includes a feature conversion module that converts the extracted features into quaternion statistical features,thereby amplifying the evidence of double compression.Experimental results indicate that the proposed QCNN-based method improves,on average,by 27% compared to existing methods in the detection of JPEG+JPEG2000 compression.

Seed development is critical for plant reproduction and crop yield,with panicle seed-setting rate,grain-filling,and grain weight being key seed characteristics for yield improvement.However,few genes are known to regulate grain filling.Here,we identify two adenosine triphosphate(ATP)-binding cassette(ABC)I-type transporter genes,OsABCI15 and OsABCI16,involved in rice grain-filling.Both genes are highly expressed in developing seeds,and their proteins are localized to the plasma membrane and cytosol.Interestingly,knockout of OsABCI15 and OsABCI16 results in a significant reduction in seed-setting rate,caused predominantly by the severe empty pericarp phenotype,which differs from the previously reported low seed-setting phenotype resulting from failed pollination.Further analysis indicates that OsABCI15 and OsABCI16 participate in ion homeostasis and likely export ions between filial tissues and maternal tissues during grain filling.Importantly,overexpression of OsABCI15 and OsABCI16 enhances the seed-setting rate and grain yield in transgenic plants and decreases ion accumulation in brown rice.Moreover,the OsABCI15/16 orthologues in maize exhibit a similar role in kernel development,as demonstrated by their disruption in transgenic maize.Therefore,ourﬁndings reveal the important roles of two ABC transporters in cereal grain filling,highlighting their value in crop yield improvement.

Reshaping the active pocket of an aldo-keto reductase to enhance its detoxification activity towards 3-keto-deoxynivalenol

Deoxynivalenol （DON）， the most common mycotoxin in the world， poses serious health hazards to both humans and animals and causes significant economic losses to the food and feed industry. An intriguing method for DON detoxification involves enzymatic cascade catalysis by dehydrogenase （DADH） and aldo-keto reductase （AKR13B3）. However， the poor catalytic activity of AKR13B3 has limited its usefulness. Here， structure-guided steric hindrance engineering， computer-assisted protein engineering， and combinatorial mutagenesis were carried out to increase the catalytic efficiency of AKR13B3. The best mutant in this project was M28S/S65V， which outperformed wild-type AKR13B3 in terms of catalytic efficiency (kcat/Km) and specific activity by factors of 45.08 and 43.11， respectively. Kinetic parameter determination revealed that the enhanced catalytic efficiency of M28S/S65V toward 3-keto-DON was attributed to the decreased Kmand increased kcatvalues. Moreover， the engineered enzyme was applied to degrade DON in contaminated corn steep liquor， for a 90.62% removal rate. Structure-based computational analysis provided insights into the enhanced catalytic efficiency of M28S/S65V， which was attributed to the enlarged substrate-binding pocket and reshaped pocket with a favorable hydrophilic attack distance. The results provide a reference for improving the catalytic activity of an enzyme toward non-native bulky substrates and pave the way for the development of enzymes as detoxification agents to mitigate DON in the food and feed industry.

Enhanced piezoelectric performance of Cr/Ta non-equivalent co-doped Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)-based high-temperature piezoceramics

In this study,(Cr_(1/3)/Ta_(2/3))non-equivalent co-doped Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)(BIT)ceramics were prepared to solve the problem that high piezoelectric performance,high Curie temperature,and high-temperature resistivity could not be achieved simultaneously in BIT-based ceramics.A series of Bi_(4)Ti_(3-x)(Cr_(1/3)Ta_(2/3))_(x)O_(12)(x=0-0.04)ceramics were synthesized by the solid-state reaction method.The phase structure,microstructure,piezoelectric performance,and conductive mechanism of the samples were systematically investigated.The B-site non-equivalent co-doping strategy combining high-valence Ta^(5+)and low-valence Cr^(3+)significantly enhances electrical properties due to a decrease in oxygen vacancy concentration.Bi_(4)Ti_(2.97)(Cr_(1/3)Ta_(2/3))_(0.03)O_(12)ceramics exhibit a high piezoelectric coefficient(d_(33)=26 pC·N^(-1))and a high Curie temperature(TC=687℃).Moreover,the significantly increased resistivity(ρ=2.8×10^(6)Ω·cm at 500℃)and good piezoelectric stability up to 600℃are also obtained for this composition.All the results demonstrate that Cr/Ta co-doped BIT-based ceramics have great potential to be applied in high-temperature piezoelectric applications.

One-step construction of strongly coupled Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4)/MXene heterostructure via in-situ Co-F bonds for high performance all-solid-state asymmetric supercapacitors

Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4)/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) composite was easily synthesized via one-step succinct-operated hydrothermal process.The interconnected Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4) nanowires network can in-situ grow and anchor on the surface of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) via the strong Co-F bonds and contribute tremendously to depress Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) self-restacking.Profiting from the synergistically interplayed effect among the multiple interfaces and high conductivity of Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) as well as outstanding stability of the as-designed nanostructure,the optimum Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4)/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)electrode reaches a commendable specific capacitance(up to 3800 mF·cm^(−2)),great rate capability(80%capacitance retention after 20-times current increasing),and preeminent cycling stability(95.4%/85.5%retention at 7000th/20,000th cycle).Moreover,the all-solid-state asymmetric supercapacitor based on Co_(3)V_(2)O_(8)/Co_(3)O_(4)/Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) and active carbon can deliver a high energy density of 84.0μWh·cm^(−2) at the power energy of 3.2 mW·cm^(−2),and excellent cycling durability with 87.0%of initial capacitance retention upon 20,000 loops.This work provides a practicable pathway to tailor MXene-based composites for high-performance supercapacitor.

Interaction between systemic iron parameters and left ventricular structure and function in the preserved ejection fraction population:a two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization study

BACKGROUND Left ventricular(LV)remodeling and diastolic function in people with heart failure(HF)are correlated with iron status;however,the causality is uncertain.This Mendelian randomization(MR)study investigated the bidirectional causal relationship between systemic iron parameters and LV structure and function in a preserved ejection fraction population.METHODS Transferrin saturation(TSAT),total iron binding capacity(TIBC),and serum iron and ferritin levels were extracted as instrumental variables for iron parameters from meta-analyses of public genome-wide association studies.Individuals without myocardial infarction history,HF,or LV ejection fraction(LVEF)magnetic Resonance Imaging Study constituted the outcome dataset.The dataset included LV end-diastolic volume,LV endsystolic volume,LV mass(LVM),and LVM-to-end-diastolic volume ratio(LVMVR).We used a two-sample bidirectional MR study with inverse variance weighting(IVW)as the primary analysis method and estimation methods using different algorithms to improve the robustness of the results.RESULTS In the IVW analysis,one standard deviation(SD)increased in TSAT significantly correlated with decreased LVMVR(β=-0.1365;95%confidence interval[CI]:-0.2092 to-0.0638;P=0.0002)after Bonferroni adjustment.Conversely,no significant relationships were observed between other iron and LV parameters.After Bonferroni correction,reverse MR analysis showed that one SD increase in LVEF significantly correlated with decreased TSAT(β=-0.0699;95%CI:-0.1087 to-0.0311;P=0.0004).No heterogeneity or pleiotropic effects evidence was observed in the analysis.CONCLUSIONS We demonstrated a causal relationship between TSAT and LV remodeling and function in a preserved ejection fraction population.

SciCN:A Scientific Dataset for Chinese Named Entity Recognition

Named entity recognition(NER)is a fundamental task of information extraction(IE),and it has attracted considerable research attention in recent years.The abundant annotated English NER datasets have significantly promoted the NER research in the English field.By contrast,much fewer efforts are made to the Chinese NER research,especially in the scientific domain,due to the scarcity of Chinese NER datasets.To alleviate this problem,we present aChinese scientificNER dataset–SciCN,which contains entity annotations of titles and abstracts derived from 3,500 scientific papers.We manually annotate a total of 62,059 entities,and these entities are classified into six types.Compared to English scientific NER datasets,SciCN has a larger scale and is more diverse,for it not only contains more paper abstracts but these abstracts are derived from more research fields.To investigate the properties of SciCN and provide baselines for future research,we adapt a number of previous state-of-theart Chinese NER models to evaluate SciCN.Experimental results show that SciCN is more challenging than other Chinese NER datasets.In addition,previous studies have proven the effectiveness of using lexicons to enhance Chinese NER models.Motivated by this fact,we provide a scientific domain-specific lexicon.Validation results demonstrate that our lexicon delivers better performance gains than lexicons of other domains.We hope that the SciCN dataset and the lexicon will enable us to benchmark the NER task regarding the Chinese scientific domain and make progress for future research.The dataset and lexicon are available at:https://***/yangjingla/SciCN.git.

Heptagonal intramolecular-lock strategy enables high-performance thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters

The development of highly efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)emitters is persistently pursued for the application of organic light-emitting diodes(OLED)in full-colour display and solid-state lighting.Herein,we present a heptagonal intramolecular-lock strategy to design high-performance TADF emitters.As a proof-of-concept,a new type of tribenzotropone(TBP)acceptor has been designed and synthesized by a cascade decarboxylative cyclization of aryl oxoacetic acid derivative with biphenyl boronic acid.Compared with the unlocked benzophenone(BP)acceptor,the TBP acceptor has a highly twisted heptagonal geometry with moderate rigidity and flexibility,which enables a high-performance TADF emitter with a small single-triplet energy gap(ΔE_(ST))of 0.04 e V,a high photoluminescence quantum yield(Φ_(PL))of 99% and a large horizontal orientation factor(Θ_(//))of 84.0%.Consequently,highly efficient OLEDs with an external quantum efficiency as high as 33.8% are assembled,which is significantly higher than those of DPAC-BP with a highly rotatable BP acceptor(23.8%)as well as DPACFO with a rigid fluorenone(FO)acceptor(6.9%).
