Influence of Various Earth-Retaining Walls on the Dynamic Response Comparison Based on 3D Modeling

The present work aims to assess earthquake-induced earth-retaining(ER)wall *** study is on the dynamics analysis of various earth-retaining wall designs in hollow precast concrete panels,reinforcement concrete facing panels,and gravity-type earth-retaining *** finite element(FE)simulations utilized a 3D plane strain condition to model full-scale ER walls and numerous nonlinear dynamics *** seismic performance of differentmodels,which includes reinforcement concrete panels and gravity-type and hollowprecast concrete ER walls,was simulated and examined using the FE *** also displays comparative studies such as stress distribution,deflection of the wall,acceleration across the wall height,lateral wall displacement,lateral wall pressure,and backfill plastic *** components of the created ER walls were found throughout this research *** is a granular reinforcement backfill,while the other is a wall-facing panel and base *** dynamic response effects of varied earth-retaining walls have also been *** was discovered that the facing panel of the model significantly impacts the earthquake-induced displacement of ER *** proposed analytical model’s validity has been evaluated and compared with the reinforcement concrete facing panels,gravity-type ER wall,scientifically available data,and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials(AASHTO)guidelines results based on FE *** results of the observations indicate that the hollow prefabricated concrete ER wall is the most feasible option due to its lower displacement and high-stress distribution compared to the two *** methodology and results of this study establish standards for future analogous investigations and professionals,particularly in light of the increasing computational capabilities of desktop computers.

This paper presents a Novel Windowing Algorithm for Electrocardiogram Feature Extraction and Pattern Recognition. The work presented here deals with a simple and efficient way of detecting ECG features that are P, Q, R, S and T waves. Windowing method is used to select these waves. Windows are based on varying R-R intervals. It has been tested on ECG simulator data and also on different records of the MIT-BIH arrhythmia database, producing satisfactory results. ECG timing intervals are also required for monitoring the cardiac condition of patients. Hence after feature detections ECG timing intervals like the PR interval, QRS duration, the QT interval, the QT corrected interval and Vent Rate are efficiently calculated using proposed Formulae.

双制式列车接地系统的车-地联合牵引供电计算

为研究双制式列车在不同供电制式区段下的车体环流和车体—轴端电位分布,针对某型双制式列车构建列车接地系统的链式电路模型,并提出车-地一体化的交、直流区段联合牵引供电计算方法;同时,建立列车接地保护电阻优化模型,并分析2种列车接地系统配置方案.以国内某条双制式线路为算例进行仿真验证,研究结果表明:方案1相较方案2,列车的车体—轴端电位最大值降低36.58%~41.04%,车体环流最大值降低18.49%~22.97%;并且在方案1中,头尾车保护电阻设置为20 mΩ,可使列车的车体—轴端电位最大值为1.15 V,车体电流最大值为50.30 A,达到抑制车体—轴端电位的最优效果.该车-地一体化的交、直流区段联合牵引供电计算方法可适用于单一供电制式或者多供电制式列车接地系统的分析.

Artificial Intelligence Based Meteorological Parameter Forecasting for Optimizing Response of Nuclear Emergency Decision Support System

This paper presents a novel artificial intelligence (AI) based approach to predict crucial meteorological parameters such as temperature,pressure,and wind speed,typically calculated from computationally intensive weather research and forecasting (WRF) *** meteorological data is indispensable for simulating the release of radioactive effluents,especially in dispersion modeling for nuclear emergency decision support *** of meteorological conditions during nuclear emergencies using the conventional WRF model is very complex and ***,a new artificial neural network (ANN) based technique was proposed as a viable alternative for meteorological prediction.A multi-input multi-output neural network was trained using historical site-specific meteorological data to forecast the meteorological *** evaluation of this technique was conducted to test its performance in forecasting various parameters including atmospheric pressure,temperature,and wind speed components in both East-West and North-South *** performance of developed network was evaluated on an unknown dataset,and acquired results are within the acceptable range for all meteorological *** show that ANNs possess the capability to forecast meteorological parameters,such as temperature and pressure,at multiple spatial locations within a grid with high accuracy,utilizing input data from a single ***,accuracy is slightly compromised when predicting wind speed *** mean square error (RMSE) was utilized to report the accuracy of predicted results,with values of 1.453℃for temperature,77 Pa for predicted pressure,1.058 m/s for the wind speed of U-component and 0.959 m/s for the wind speed of *** conclusion,this approach offers a precise,efficient,and wellinformed method for administrative decision-making during nuclear emergencies.

Acute pancreatitis(AP) is one of the most common gastrointestinal causes for hospi-talization in the United States. In 2015, AP accounted for approximately390000 hospitalizations. The burden of AP is only expected to increase over *** recent advances in medicine, pancreatitis continues to be associated with a substantial morbidity and mortality. The most common cause of AP is gallstones, followed closely by alcohol use. The diagnosis of pancreatitis is established with any two of three following criteria:(1) Abdominal pain consistent with that of AP;(2) Serum amylase and/or lipase greater than three times the upper limit of normal; and(3) Characteristics findings seen in crosssectional abdominal imaging. Multiple criteria and scoring systems have been established for assessing severity of AP. The cornerstones of management include aggressive intravenous hydration, appropriate nutrition and pain *** retrograde cholangiopancreatography and surgery are important aspects in management of acute gallstone pancreatitis. We provide a comprehensive review of evaluation and management of AP.

A Progressive Approach to Generic Object Detection: A Two-Stage Framework for Image Recognition

Object detection in images has been identified as a critical area of research in computer vision image *** has developed several novel methods for determining an object’s location and category from an ***,there is still room for improvement in terms of detection *** study aims to develop a technique for detecting objects in *** enhance overall detection performance,we considered object detection a two-fold problem,including localization and *** proposed method generates class-independent,high-quality,and precise proposals using an agglomerative clustering *** then combine these proposals with the relevant input image to train our network on convolutional ***,a network refinement module decreases the quantity of generated proposals to produce fewer high-quality candidate ***,revised candidate proposals are sent into the network’s detection process to determine the object *** algorithm’s performance is evaluated using publicly available the PASCAL Visual Object Classes Challenge 2007(VOC2007),VOC2012,and Microsoft Common Objects in Context(MS-COCO)*** only 100 proposals per image at intersection over union((IoU)=0.5 and 0.7),the proposed method attains Detection Recall(DR)rates of(93.17%and 79.35%)and(69.4%and 58.35%),and Mean Average Best Overlap(MABO)values of(79.25%and 62.65%),for the VOC2007 and MS-COCO datasets,***,it achieves a Mean Average Precision(mAP)of(84.7%and 81.5%)on both VOC *** experiment findings reveal that our method exceeds previous approaches in terms of overall detection performance,proving its effectiveness.

Numerical Study of Hydrogen Peroxide Thermal Decomposition in a Shock Tube

Hydrogen peroxide(H_2O_2) has its significance during the combustion of heavy hydrocarbons in the internal combustion(IC) engines. Owing to its importance the measurements of H_2O_2 dissociation rate have been reported mostly using the shock tube apparatus. These types of experimental measurements are although quite reliable but require high cost. On the other hand, numerical simulations provide low cost and reliable solutions especially using computation fluid dynamics(CFD) software. In the current study an experimental shock tube flow is modeled using open access platform OpenFOAM to investigate the thermal decomposition of H_2O_2. Using two different convective schemes, limited Linear and upwind, the propagation of shock wave and resultant dissociation reaction are simulated. The results of the simulations are compared with the experimental data. It is observed that the rate constant measured using the simulation data deviates from the experimental results in the low temperature range and approaches the experimental values as the temperature is raised.

当高温和低温热源的间距小于热辐射特征波长时,辐射换热特性发生很大变化,此时电磁波的干涉效应和光子隧穿效应尤为显著。经典的宏观辐射传输理论基于几何光学,忽略了光的干涉效应。目前的研究结果表明,间距为纳米尺度的辐射换热量比斯忒潘·玻尔兹曼定律的预测值高出约5个数量级。本文结合有效介质理论,分析了具有梯度折射率的各向异性多层平行平板结构的近场辐射换热。利用此方法,本文以碳化硅、二氧化硅和铝为对象,分析了不同结构(如平面-粗糙表面、粗糙表面-粗糙表面)的近场辐射换热,并与平行平板结构作对比。以涨落耗散理论为基础,结合麦克斯韦方程组和并矢格林函数,近场辐射换热热流得以求解。借助各平板的表面导纳,可以求解每个交界面上的s偏振和p偏振的反射系数和折射系数。为了验证计算结果的准确性,本文对各向异性多层介质间的近场热流作了收敛性检验。研究结果表明,由于粗糙效应的影响,碳化硅和二氧化硅粗糙表面间的近场换热得到加强,而铝粗糙表面的近场换热被微弱抑制。除粗糙表面平行平板结构之外,本文还计算了粗糙表面-平板之间的近场换热。研究发现,二氧化硅粗糙表面-平板结构的近场换热略强于粗糙表面之间。在此种情形下,同样由于粗糙效应,宽频域内的频谱热流增大。近场热辐射是提高能量收集设备(如热光伏设备)能量转换效率和输出功率的最有潜力的方式之一。通过有效的控制,使辐射换热支配能量传输过程,这可以提高其他材料的能量传输效率。同时,也可以用于热整流、热晶体管、辐射制冷等众多领域。
