BACKGROUND: Dental anomali.s are vari.ti.ns from the establi.hed well-known general anatomy and morphology of the tooth as a result of di.turbances duri.g tooth formati.n. They can be developmental, congeni.al, or acqui.ed and may be locali.ed to a si.gle tooth or i.volve systemi. condi.i.ns. Ai.: To evaluate the prevalence of dental anomali.s i. pati.nts who report to the Komfo Anokye Teachi.g Hospi.al (KATH) dental cli.i.s. METHOD: A descri.ti.e cross-secti.nal desi.n was used wi.h a sample si.e of 92 pati.nts aged 18 or older, obtai.ed through conveni.nce sampli.g. Data analysi. was performed usi.g SPSS versi.n 26.0. RESULTS: The study i.cluded 92 pati.nts aged 18 to 72 years, wi.h 47.8% males and 52.2% females. Dental anomali.s were observed i. 51.1% of parti.i.ants, wi.h a hi.her prevalence i. females (55.3%). The most common anomali.s were di.stema (48.3%), i.pacted teeth (22.0%), di.acerati.n (11.9%), and peg-shaped lateral teeth (6.8%). CONCLUSi.N: Thi. study hi.hli.hts the i.portance of conducti.g thorough dental exami.ati.ns to i.enti.y and address dental anomali.s, whi.h may have i.pli.ati.ns for treatment. Early detecti.n and correcti.n of these anomali.s are cruci.l to prevent future compli.ati.ns.

Background: The most prevalent non-communi.able di.ease worldwi.e i. oral health-related di.ease, wi.h dental cari.s and peri.dontal condi.i.ns bei.g common. Oral health status si.ni.i.antly i.pacts overall health and quali.y of li.e. Barri.rs to dental care affect chi.dren wi.h speci.l needs. Thi. study evaluates the oral health status and treatment requi.ements of people wi.h speci.l needs. Methodology: Thi. descri.ti.e cross-secti.nal study i. Kumasi. Ghana exami.ed oral health status among people, 121 chi.dren wi.h speci.l needs over two months, i. June-July 2022. Dental cari.s, peri.dontal changes, malocclusi.n, and trauma were assessed. The data was analyzed usi.g SPSS 20.0. Results: The oral health status among people wi.h speci.l needs i. thi. study was generally moderate, wi.h a range from very good to very poor. The prevalence of dental cari.s was 37%, wi.h a mean DMFT score of 2.82. Peri.dontal health showed unsati.factory i.di.ators such as mobi.e teeth, poor gi.gi.al health, hi.h plaque scores, and the presence of hali.osi.. Conclusi.n: Thi. descri.ti.e study ai.ed to provi.e baseli.e data on the oral health status of speci.l needs students i. Kumasi. addressi.g the lack of knowledge i. thi. area. i. hi.hli.hted the i.portance of dental care i. mai.tai.i.g good oral health and overall well-bei.g i. i.di.i.uals wi.h speci.l needs. Background: P wave axis, QRS axis, T wave axis and QRS-T angle have prognostic values on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, yet the effect of age on these important electrocardiographic parameters has not been well studied in adult Nigerians, knowing that some electrocardiographic parameters are affected by age. Objectives: This study was aimed at determining the effect of age on P frontal axis, QRS frontal axis, T frontal axis and frontal QRS-T angle among adult Nigerians. Methods: This was a retrospective study in which P frontal axis, QRS frontal axis and T frontal axis of adult patients who attended a university teaching hospital were determined from 12-lead ECG. Frontal QRS-T angle was calculated as the absolute difference between the QRS frontal axis and T wave frontal axis. The electrical axes and QRS-T angle were correlated with age. Results: There were 85 cases aged between 20 and 66 years, which included 42 males and 43 females. P frontal axis correlated positively and non-significantly with age (r = -0.032, p = 0.773), QRS frontal axis correlated negatively and significantly with age (r = -0.295, p = 0.006), T frontal axis correlated negatively and non-significantly with age (r = -0.002, p = 0.

Background: The relati.nshi. between spleni. si.e and age has been well studi.d i. chi.dren but reports on adults have been i.consi.tent. i. Ni.eri., the relati.nshi. between spleni. si.e and age as well as the i.ter-decade changes i. spleni. length i. adults has not been adequately studi.d. Objecti.es: Thi. study ai.ed at determi.i.g the relati.nshi. between spleni. length and age i. adult Ni.eri.ns. Methods: Thi. i. a retrospecti.e study i. whi.h sonographi. spleni. lengths of adult Ni.eri.ns aged 30 years and above were correlated wi.h age. The relevant data were obtai.ed from the medi.al records of those who had ultrasound spleni. exami.ati.n for the purposes of medi.al check-up between December 2016 and December 2017. Results: There were 50 cases aged between 34 and 57 years, wi.h a mean age of 42.76 ± 7.73 years. Thei. spleens had normal shape and echotexture. The mean spleni. length was 9.56 ± 1.37 cm. Spleni. length correlated negati.ely wi.h age and decreased from 9.79 ± 1.00 cm i. the fourth decade to 9.49 ± 1.67 cm i. the fi.th decade and to 9.24 ± 1.63 cm i. the si.th decade. The mean spleni. length of 9.56 recorded i. these cases was relati.ely small when compared to the results by other workers who studi.d subjects of much younger age groups. Conclusi.n: The studi.d cases whi.h were i. the fourth, fi.th and si.th decades of li.e had a relati.ely small mean spleni. length. There was no si.ni.i.ant change i. spleni. length wi.h i.creasi.g age.

The i.i.i.l presentati.n of Lassa fever may be wi.h non-speci.i. symptoms si.i.ar to what i. seen i. the more common febri.e i.lnesses such as malari. or typhoi. fever. i. such a setti.g therefore, ti.ely di.gnosi. of Lassa fever may be di.fi.ult. Case Report: We report a case of Lassa fever that presented to our i.sti.uti.n. She was a mi.dle aged woman who had non-speci.i. symptoms of febri.e i.lness and who di.d i. less than 48 hours of admi.si.n. She had a subtle bleedi.g on the li. just before death whi.h was what rai.ed the suspi.i.n for Lassa fever. Laboratory confi.mati.n of Lassa fever was made retrospecti.ely. Conclusi.n: When the presenti.g symptoms are non-speci.i., a hi.h i.dex of suspi.i.n i. requi.ed for ti.ely recogni.i.n of Lassa fever. Early di.gnosi. i. i.portant for prompt therapeuti. i.terventi.n as well as for li.i.i.g the spread of the di.ease. Thi. i. the second case of Lassa fever presenti.g to our hospi.al, but the fi.st publi.hed case of Lassa fever from our hospi.al.

We descri.e how to analyze the system performance for general fi.ters, but we focus the study on fi.ters wi.h no focus di.placement. Although the storage densi.y attai.able depends on the fi.ter characteri.ti.s, we show that the storage densi.y can be easi.y dupli.ated.

Forty-two pati.nts wi.h gastri. ulcer were studi.d, and fi.ty healthy i.di.i.uals were used as control group. The blood group anti.ens were determi.ed by di.ect hemaggluti.ati.n, dot-ELi.A and i.munohi.tochemi. cal methods i. erythrocytes, sali.a and gastri. mucosa speci.ens, respecti.ely. Di.gnosi. for H pylori.i.fecti.n was performed by conventi.nal opti.al mi.roscopy and ELi.A.RESULTS： A hi.her seroprevalence of i.G H pylori.speci.i. anti.odi.s was observed i. gastri. ulcer pati.nts （90%） compared to the control group （60%）. We observed a si.ni.i.ant i.crease of phenotypes O, A2 and Lewi. b i. H pylori.i.fected pati.nts. The expressi.n of these anti.ens had progressi.e alterati.ns i. areas of ulcerous lesi.ns and i.testi.al metaplasi..CONCLUSi.N： ABH and Lewi. blood group anti.ens are a good i.di.ator for cellular alterati.ns i. the gastri. epi.heli.m.
