Chitin powder and chitin-aerogel were prepared f.om shrimp wastes and used to uptake Y^(3+)f.om aqueous solutions and concentrate this rare earth element f.om phosphogypsum(PG).Chitin aerogel displays a specif.c surf.ce area of.945 m^(2)/g,while chitin powder is 3.6 m^(2)/g,which largely inf.uences its adsorption *** the adsorption in synthetic solutions,the ef.ect of.pH on Y^(3+)removal is strong f.r chitin powder *** contrast,no big pH inf.uence was detected f.r chitin *** interactions and chelation can highlight the proposed mechanism of.Y^(3+)on chitin adsorbents f.r the powder and ***,in addition to these interactions,pore f.lling/pore dif.usion is the main mechanism of.Y^(3+)removal in the chitin *** aerogel is ef.icient in concentrating 8 times the Y^(3+)f.om PG,a very complex *** complex chitin aerogel-Y^(3+)can be a secondary source of.rare earth elements f.r other applications.

A chemo-mechanical model is developed to investigate the ef.ects on the stress development of.the coating of.polycrystalline Ni-rich LiNixMnyCo_(z)o_(2)(x≥0.8)(NMC)particles with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDoT).The simulation results show that the coating of.primary NMC particles signif.cantly reduces the stress generation by ef.iciently accommodating the volume change associated with the lithium dif.usion,and the coating layer plays roles both as a cushion against the volume change and a channel f.r the lithium transport,promoting the lithium distribution across the secondary particles more ***,the lower stif.ness,higher ionic conductivity,and larger thickness of.the coating layer improve the stress *** paper provides a mathematical f.amework f.r calculating the chemo-mechanical responses of.anisotropic electrode materials and f.ndamental insights into how the coating of.NMC active particles mitigates stress levels.

Using dislocation-based constitutive modeling in three-dimension crystal plasticity f.nite element(3D CPf.)simulations,co-def.rmation and instability of.hetero-phase interf.ce in dif.erent material systems were herein studied f.r polycrystalline metal matrix composites(MMCs).Local stress and strain f.elds in two types of.3layer MMCs such as f.c/f.c Cu-Ag and f.c/bcc Cu-Nb have been predicted under simple compressive ***,more severe strain-induced interf.ce instability can be observed in the f.c/bcc systems than in the f.c/f.c systems upon ref.ning to metallic nanolayered composites(MNCs).By detailed analysis of.stress and strain localization,it has been demonstrated that the interf.ce instability is always accompanied by high-stress concentration,i.e.,thermodynamic characteristics,or high strain prevention i.e.,kinetic characteristics,at the hetero-phase *** then f.llows that the thermodynamic driving f.rceG and the kinetic energy barrier Q during dislocation and shear banding can be adopted to classif. the def.rmation modes,f.llowing the so-called thermo-kinetic *** by inserting a high density of.high-energy interf.ces into the Cu-Nb composites,such thermo-kinetic integration at the hetero-phase interf.ce allows a successf.l establishment of.MMCs with the high△G-high Q def.rmation mode,which ensures high hardening and unif.rm strain distri-bution,thus ef.iciently suppressing the shear band,stabilizing the hetero-phase interf.ce,and obtaining an exceptional combination in strength and *** hetero-phase interf.ce chosen by a couple of.thermodynamics and kinetics can be def.ned as breaking the thermo-kinetic correlation and has been proposed f.r artif.cially designing MNCs.

objective:To evaluate the immunological response elicited by an inactivated bacterial vector carrying the K39 antigen of.Leishmania inf.ntum,and a purif.ed ***:Mice were subjected to the f.llowing treatments:(1)Purif.ed recombinant K39(rK39)protein at a 20μg dose with complete f.eund’s adjuvant;(2)Inactivated Escherichia coli(BL21 DE3)carrying the K39 protein at an equivalent total protein content of.200μg;(3)Inactivated bacteria lacking the K39 protein;(4)Non-immunized control *** monitoring was *** groups were challenged by intraperitoneal injection of.10^(7) Leishmania inf.ntum *** euthanasia,the liver and spleen were collected to analyze the levels of.TNf.If.-γ,IL-12,IL-4,and ***:Mice immunized with purif.ed rK39 or the inactivated bacterial vector carrying the K39 antigen of.Leishmania inf.ntum showed a long-lasting immune response with high levels of.polyclonal antibodies specif.cally recognizing the recombinant *** IgG1 subclass was the predominant immunoglobulin;however,the induction of.IgG2a and the prof.le of.cytokines produced were indicative of.the induction of.a mixed-type ***:The inactivated bacterial vector carrying the K39 antigen,as well as the purif.ed antigen can induce a long-lasting immune response in immunized mice,predominantly f.vouring a Th2 prof.le response.

This work shows that despite a lattice mismatch of.almost 20%, CdMnTe/CdTe/CdMnTe heterostructures grown directly on si(111) have surprisingly good optical emission properties. The investigated structures were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and characterized by scanning transmission electron microscopy, macro-and micro-photoluminescence. Low temperature macro-photoluminescence experiments indicate three emission bands which depend on the CdTe layer thickness and have dif.erent conf.nement characteristics. Temperature measurements reveal that the lower energy emission band (at 1.48 eV)is associated to def.cts and bound exciton states, while the main emission at 1.61 eV has a weak 2D character and the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has a well-def.ned (zero-dimensional, 0D) 0D nature. Micro-photoluminescence measurements show the existence of.sharp and strongly circularly polarized (up to 40%) emission lines which can be related to the presence of.Mn in the heterostructure. This result opens the possibility of.producing photon sources with the typical spin control of.the diluted magnetic semiconductors using the low-cost silicon technology.

Memory loss and dementia are major public health concerns with a substantial economic *** stress has been shown to play a crucial role in the pathophysiology of.hippocampal damage-induced memory *** investigate whether the antioxidant and anti-inf.ammatory compound vanillyla cetone(zingerone) can protect against hippocampal damage and memory loss induced by cadmium chloride(CdCl_(2)) administration in rats,we explo red the potential involvement of.the nuclear f.ctor erythroid 2-related f.ctor 2(Nrf.) signaling pathway,which is known to modulate oxidative stress and *** healt hy male Wistar rats were divided into f.ve groups:vehicle-treated(control),vanillylacetone,CdCl_(2),vanillylacetone+ CdCl_(2),vanillylacetone+ CdCl_(2)+ brusatol(a selective pharmacological N rf.inhibitor) *** ef.ectively attenuated CdCl_(2)-induced damage in the dental gyrus of.the hippocampus and improved the memory f.nction assessed by the Morris Water Maze ***,vanillylacetone markedly decreased the hippocampal tissue levels of.inf.ammatory biomarkers(interleukin-6,tumor necrosis f.ctor-α,intracellular cell adhesive molecules) and apoptosis biomarkers(Bax and cleaved caspase-3).The control and CdCl_(2)-treated groups treated with va nillylacetone showed reduced generation of.reactive oxygen species,decreased malondialdehyde levels,and increased superoxide dismutase and glutathione activities,along with signif.cant elevation of.nuclear Nrf. mRNA and protein expression in hippocampal *** the protective ef.ects of.vanillylacetone we re substantially blocked by the co-administration of.brusatol(a selective N rf. inhibitor).Va nillylacetone mitigated hippocampal damage and memory loss induced by CdCl_(2),at least in part, by activating the nuclear transcription f.ctor ***,vanillylacetone exerted its potent antioxidant and antiinf.ammatory actions.
