Inspired by the fast,agile movements of insects,we present a 1.9 g,4.5 cm in length,piezoelectrically driven,quadrupedal *** microrobot uses a novel spatial parallel mechanism as its hip joint,which consists of two spatially orthogonal slider-crank *** mechanism maps two inputs of two independent actuators to the decoupled swing and lift outputs of a leg,and each leg can produce the closed trajectories in the sagittal plane necessary for robot ***,the kinematics of the transmission are analyzed,and the parameters of the flexure hinges are designed based on geometrical constraints and yield *** hip joints,legs and exoskeletons are integrated into a five-layer standard laminate for monolithic fabrication which is composed of two layers of carbon fiber,two layers of acrylic adhesive and a polyimide *** measured output force(15.97 mN)of each leg is enough to carry half of the robot’s weight,which is necessary for the robot to move *** has been proven that the robot can successfully perform forward and turning *** to the microrobot fabricated with discrete components,the monolithically fabricated microrobot is more capable of maintaining the original direction of locomotion when driven by a forward signal and has a greater speed,whose maximum speed is 25.05 cm/s.

To further improve the performance of passive intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)-assisted communication systems and mitigate the serious path loss due to “double-fading ” of IRS-assisted links, an active IRS-aided simultaneous wireless information and power transfer(SWIPT) system is investigated. This paper jointly optimizes the transmit beamforming at the base station(BS) and the phase shifts at the active IRS in order to maximize the power collected by the energy harvesting receiver under both perfect and imperfect channel state information(CSI)states, subject to the signal-to-interference-noise ratio constraint of the information decoding receiver, and the power constraints of the BS/IRS. Under perfect CSI, the alternating optimization algorithm is utilized for obtaining the transmit beamforming at the BS and the phase shifts at the active IRS. For each subproblem, we first transform nonconvex objective function and constraints into convex ones by performing a first-order Taylor expansion. Then, each subproblem is solved by using the interior point method. Given that obtaining perfect CSI is impractical, two robust beamforming designs are proposed for imperfect CSI case. Under the bounded CSI error model, we first transform the non-convex optimization problem into two semidefinite programming subproblems, and then solve each subproblem based on S-procedure and sequential rank-one constraint relaxation(SROCR) techniques. Under the stochastic CSI error model, the alternating optimization method is applied in an iterative manner based on Bernstein-type inequality and SROCR technique. Simulation results show that both robust and non-robust schemes for active IRS-assisted SWIPT systems can achieve extremely superior performance over conventional passive IRS-assisted systems under the same overall power budget.

China removed fertilizer manufacturing subsidies from 2015 to 2018 to bolster market-oriented reforms and foster environmentally sustainable ***,the impact of this policy reform on food security and the environment remains inadequately ***,although green and low-carbon technologies offer environmental advantages,their widespread adoption is hindered by prohibitively high *** study analyzes the impact of removing fertilizer manufacturing subsidies and explores the potential feasibility of redirecting fertilizer manufacturing subsidies to invest in the diffusion of these *** the China Agricultural University Agri-food Systems model,we analyzed the potential for achieving mutually beneficial outcomes regarding food security and environmental *** findings indicate that removing fertilizer manufacturing subsidies has reduced greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions from agricultural activities by 3.88 million metric tons,with minimal impact on food *** fertilizer manufacturing subsidies to invest in green and low-carbon technologies,including slow and controlled-release fertilizer,organic-inorganic compound fertilizers,and machine deep placement of fertilizer,emerges as a strategy to concurrently curtail GHG emissions,ensure food security,and secure robust economic ***,we propose a comprehensive set of government interventions,including subsidies,field guidance,and improved extension systems,to promote the widespread adoption of these technologies.

Anti-predation strategies are critical to animal survival and are fundamental to deciphering predator–prey *** an important defense strategy,sensory predator detection(such as through acoustic and visual cues)enables animals to assess predation risk and execute predator-avoidance behavior;however,there are limited studies on the anti-predation behavior of nocturnal *** prey of bats provides an excellent representative system for examining the anti-predation behavior of nocturnal ***,we broadcasted different types of echolocation calls of the bird-eating bat Ia io to two wild passerine birds,namely,Zosterops japonicus and Sinosuthora webbiana,that are preyed upon by ***,and presented the birds with individual bats under different light *** results showed that both bird species were able to perceive the low-frequency audible portion of the bats’echolocation calls;however,they did not exhibit escape responses to the acoustic *** the dark and under moonlit conditions,both bird species were unable to respond to active bats at close range and the birds only exhibited evasive flight behavior when bats approached or touched *** results suggest that nocturnal passerine birds may not be able to use acoustic or visual cues to detect bats and adopt evasive maneuvers to avoid *** work suggests that bat predation pressure may not elicit primary predator-avoidance responses in nocturnal passerine *** results provide new insights into the anti-predation behavior of nocturnal animals.

An electronic tongue(E-tongue)comprises a series of sensors that simulate human perception of taste and embedded artificial intelligence(AI)for data analysis and *** E-tongues based on electrochemical methods suffer from a bulky size and require larger sample volumes and extra power sources,limiting their applications in in vivo medical diagnosis and analytical *** by the mechanics of the human tongue,triboelectric components have been incorporated into E-tongue platforms to overcome these *** this study,an integrated multichannel triboelectric bioinspired E-tongue(TbiET)device was developed on a single glass slide chip to improve the device’s taste classification accuracy by utilizing numerous sensory *** detection capability of the TbiET was further validated using various test samples,including representative human body,environmental,and beverage *** TbiET achieved a remarkably high classification *** instance,chemical solutions showed 100%identification accuracy,environmental samples reached 98.3%accuracy,and four typical teas demonstrated 97.0%***,the classification accuracy of NaCl solutions with five different concentrations reached 96.9%.The innovative TbiET exhibits a remarkable capacity to detect and analyze droplets with ultrahigh sensitivity to their electrical ***,it offers a high degree of reliability in accurately detecting and analyzing various liquid samples within a short *** development of a self-powered portable triboelectric E-tongue prototype is a notable advancement in the field and is one that can greatly enhance the feasibility of rapid on-site detection of liquid samples in various settings.

Objective: To explore the specific pharmacological molecular mechanisms of Laoke Formula(LK)on treating advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) based on clinical application, network pharmacology and experimental validation. Methods: Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression analysis were used to evaluate the survival benefit of Chinese medicine(CM) treatment in 296 patients with NSCLC in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from January 2011 to December 2015. The compounds of LK were screened using the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database and Analysis Platform, and the corresponding targets were performed from Swiss Target Prediction. NSCLC-related targets were obtained from Therapeutic Target Database and Comparative Toxicogenomics Database. Key compounds and targets were identified from the compound-target-disease network and protein-protein interaction(PPI) network analysis, respectively. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG) and Gene Ontology(GO) enrichment analysis were used to predict the potential signaling pathways involved in the treatment of advanced NSCLC with LK. The binding affinities between key ingredients and targets were further verified using molecular docking. Finally, A549 cell proliferation and migration assay were used to evaluate the antitumor activity of LK. Western blot was used to further verify the expression of key target proteins related to the predicted pathways. Results: Kaplan-Meier survival analysis showed that the overall survival of the CM group was longer than that of the non-CM group(36 months vs.26 months), and COX regression analysis showed that LK treatment was an independent favorable prognostic factor(P=0.027). Next, 97 components and 86 potential targets were included in the network pharmacology, KEGG and GO analyses, and the results indicated that LK was associated with proliferation and apoptosis. Transdermal drug delivery(TDD)has gained clinical approval over several decades,with extensive research dedicated to novel drug and device *** notable research progress,the mar-ket adoption of TDD devices has not met anticipated levels,with oral administration and injection remaining predominant delivery *** maximize the potential of TDD,we identify bottlenecks hinder-ing its widespread clinical application and propose promising research *** begin by analyzing stringent demands necessary to truly benefit patients,addressing significant challenges in biomechanics,nanomedicine,and flexible ***,we delve into skin anatomy,enhancement strategies,nano-carriers,and their under-lining mechanisms,highlighting the importance and framework of quantitative *** on these discussions,we highlight the core strength of TDD,such as automatic precise administration based on feedback and high delivery efficiencies,especially applicable to localized conditions(e.g.,central nervous system diseases,tumors).Finally,we envision the future of intelligent TDD device and its opera-tion scenario,aiming to steer research efforts toward faster translation of laboratory innovations into widely used products for sufferers.
