Molecular basis for identification of species/isolates of gastrointestinal nematode parasites

Gastrointestinal（GI） parasitism is the most serious constraint throughout the world in small ruminants which causes significant production loss in *** parasites are major contributor to reduce productivity in terms of meat,milk and wool in *** of GI parasite is done primarily by anthelmintic treatment where choice and schedule of treatment is done after identification and quantitation of individual *** of GI parasites is done through microscopic method by identifying specific morphological characteristics of egg and larva（L3）.Since most of parasite eggs are having similar morphological characteristics, identification up to species level through microscopy is not possible in most of *** address this issue,molecular techniques are the viable alternative for identification of species as well as molecular level differences within a species（isolates） of *** dNA based molecular techniques ***,AFLP,RAPd,RFLP,PCR-SSCP,real time PCR,dNA microarray *** been used for identification and to assess the genetic diversity among parasite *** identification of species,the characteristic sequence of genomic dNA of different species should differ to allow the delineation of species,but at the same time,no/minor variation within the species should *** contrast,for purpose of identifying population variants（strains/isolates）, a considerable degree of variation in the sequence should exist within a *** target regions,including nuclear ribosomal dNA（rdNA）,mitochondrial dNA（mtdNA） or repetitive dNA elements（microsatellite loci）,which show considerable variation in the number of repeats within individuals have been employed to achieve the identification of parasites species or strain.

Objective:To study the canine echinococcosis by coproantigen ELISA ***:during the present investigation experimental infection was established using evaginated worms of Echinococcus granulosus(***).To check cross reactivity two pups were infected with Taenia hydatigena(***).In order to detect the presence of antigen,hyperimmune sera were raised against excretory-secretory products of adult worms *** granulosus. Faecal sample collected either from experimentally infected pups or from other sources were heated at 70℃to detect heat stable soluble ***:Pups harbouring less than 104 worms showed negative *** collected from 14 days onwards from experimentally infected animals harbouring more than 104 worms showed positive *** maximum positive samples were detected in samples collected from in and around slaughter house and the least number of samples were detected positive maintained by dog ***:The affinity purified IgG exhibited promising results for detection of canine echinococcosis by indirect ELISA.

Effect of Moringa oleifera on semen quality profiles in endangered Teressa goat under tropical humid island ecosystem

Objective:To investigate the effect of Moringa oleifera leaf extract on semen quality parameters in Teressa goat ***:A total of 25 semen samples from six bucks were selected for the *** of 150×10^(6) were incubated in 0,300,500 and 700μg of leaf extract as groupⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ,*** stored semen samples were analysed for motility,viability,total sperm abnormalities,plasma membrane,acrosomal and nuclear integrities,seminal plasma intracellular enzymes[aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase(ALT)and lactate dehydrogenase(LdH)]and total antioxidant capacity(TAC)and spermatozoa malondialdehyde(MdA)and cholesterol efflux in comparison with the control group(groupⅠ)for up to 72 ***:Moringa oleifera leaf extract(500μg/150×10^(6) spermatozoa)-treated semen had significantly higher motility,viability,plasma membrane,acrosomal and nuclear integrities,and TAC(Pd had significantly lower total sperm abnormalities,AST,ALT,LdH,MdA production and cholesterol efflux compared to those in other Moringa oleifera leaf extract treated(300 or 700μg/150×10^(6) spermatozoa)and control groups at different hours of liquid storage(Pd TAC showed an increasing trend and total sperm abnormalities,MdA production,leakage of intra-cellular enzymes and cholesterol efflux showed a decreasing trend from group Ⅰto group Ⅲand then an opposite trend from group Ⅲ to group Ⅳ at different hours of liquid ***:Moringa oleifera leaf extract 500μg/150×10^(6) spermatozoa can be used for liquid semen preservation in Teressa goat at Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Objective:To measure seasonal effects on semen quality profiles,seminal biochemical and oxidative stress attributes in fresh and liquid stored semen in monsoon and dry ***:A total of 10 Teressa bucks(3-4 years)were selected from breeding farm,ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute,Port Blair,Andaman and Nicobar Islands,*** samples(n=25 per season)were collected through artificial vagina method and preserved at refrigerated temperature(5℃)for 48 h using Tris citrate glucose based *** detected semen quality parameters[volume,mass activity,pH,sperm concentration,total motility,viability,total sperm abnormality,and plasma membrane,acrosomal and nuclear integrities],biochemical profiles[aspartate amino transferase(AST),alanine amino transferase(ALT)and total cholesterol],and oxidative stress markers[total antioxidant capacity(TAC)and malondialdehyde(MdA)]during monsoon and dry ***:Semen quality parameters significantly differed between seasons(Pd among storage periods(Pd nuclear integrities,and TAC were significantly higher(PdA,AST,ALT and total cholesterol were significantly lower in fresh semen of monsoon than dry season(Pd nuclear integrities,and TAC were significantly decreased(Pd MdA were significantly increased as liquid semen storage period advanced(Pd liquid stored semen remained usable for upto 48 *** quality ejaculates with higher TAC and lower MdA can be cryopreserved and will be used for artificial insemination.

水库优化调度问题是根据预报的降水和入流以获得最优的水库泄水、蓄水和下游河段的通航流量。本文研究了5种使偏离一组选定的目标蓄水和流量值的偏差成极小的目的规划方案:(1)抢先的目的规划;(2)加权目的规划;(3)最小最大目的规划;(4)模糊目的规划和(5)区间目的规划。水库调度问题也可以用公式示为多目标线性规划(MOLP)。目的规划的最优解包含在MOLP的有效点中。也表明了最小最大和模糊目的规划可能产生无效点作为最优值;然而存在另外可供选择的有效最优值。因为目的规划集中于达到预先确定的主观目标值,也许不可能发现客观潜在的最优值。无目标约束的可行域中的极值点检验克服了这种困难并提供了一种建立实际目标值的方法。这些方法已应用于肯塔基的格林河流域,其成果曾由以前的研究者报道过。

Role of Niobium in Advanced High Strength Steels for Automotive Applications

Two major drivers for the use of newer steels in the automotive industry is fuel efficiency and increased safety *** efficiency is mainly a function of weight of steel parts,which in turn,is controlled by gauge and *** is determined by the energy absorbing capacity of the steel used to make the *** of these factors are incentives for the *** to use Advanced High Strength Steels (AHSS) to replace the conventional steels used to manufacture automotive parts in the *** is a general term used to describe various families of *** most common AHSS is the dual-phase steel that consists of a ferrite-martensite *** steels are characterized by high strength,good ductility,low tensile to yield strength ratio and high *** class of AHSS is the multi-phase steel which have a complex microstructure consisting of various phase constituents and a high yield to tensile strength *** Induced Plasticity (TRIP) steels is the latest class of AHSS steels finding interest among the *** steels consist of a ferrite-bainite microstructure with significant amount of retained austenite phase and show the highest combination of strength and elongation,so far,among the AHSS in *** level of energy absorbing capacity combined with a sustained level of high n value up to the limit of uniform elongation as well as high bake hardenability make these steels particularly attractive for safety critical parts and parts needing complex ***,martensitic steels with very high strengths are also in use for certain *** role of Niobium in all of the above families of advanced steels for the automotive industry will be discussed in this paper.

Improvement of wind field forecasts for tropical cyclones over the North Indian Ocean

This paper demonstrates a modification method for real-time improvement of wind field forecasts for a typical cyclone VARdAH,which formed over the Bay of Bengal(Bo B)in *** proposed method to improve the wind field forecasts associated with tropical cyclone consists of two *** first one is the relocation method,which relocates the wind field forecasts obtained from the Global Forecast System(GFS)data of National Centres for Environmental Prediction(NCEP).The relocation of the model forecasts wind field is made on forecast locations generated by Multi Model Ensemble(MME)track forecast of India Meteorological department(IMd).The second one is the modification of wind speed,which directly modifies the NCEP GFS wind speed forecasts based on intensity forecasts by Statistical Cyclone Intensity Prediction(SCIP)model of *** these two methods,the displacement of wind field and underestimation/overestimation of wind speed in the model forecast field can be *** modification methods show considerable improvements in the displacement and speed of wind field *** displacement error of wind field is found to have improved by about 51%at 48 h and about 80%at 72 h *** of maximum wind speed in the forecast field is found to be improved by about 88%at 48 h and about 38%at 72 h *** spatial distributions of corrected wind speed forecasts are also found to be more analogous than direct model forecasts with the corresponding analysis wind at all forecast *** proposed modification methods could provide improved wind field forecast associated with tropical cyclones in real-time.

Improvement of displacement error of rainfall and wind field forecast associated with landfalling tropical cyclone AMPHAN

Spatial distribution of rainfall and wind speed forecast errors associated with landfalling tropical cyclones(TC)occur significantly due to incorrect location forecast by numerical *** major areas of errors are:(i)over-estimation over the model forecast locations and(ii)underestimation over the observed locations of the TCs.A modification method is proposed for real-time improvement of rainfall and wind field forecasts and demonstrated for the typical TC AMPHAN over the Bay of Bengal in *** proposed method to improve the model forecasts is a relocation method through shifting of model forecast locations of TC to the real-time official forecast locations of India Meteorological department(IMd).The modification is applied to the forecasts obtained from the operational numerical model,the Global Forecast System(GFS)of *** of the proposed method shows considerable improvement of both the parameters over both the *** rainfall forecast errors due to displacement are found to have improved by 44.1%–69.8%and 72.1%–85.2%over the GFS forecast locations and over the observed locations respectively for the respective forecast lead times 48 h,72 h,and 96 ***,the wind speed forecasts have improved by 27.6%–56.0%and 63.7%–84.6%over the GFS forecast locations and over the observed locations respectively for the respective forecast lead times 60 h,72 h,and 84 *** results show that the proposed technique has capacity to provide improved spatial distributions of rainfall and wind speed forecasts associated with landfalling TCs and useful guidance to operational forecasters.

Search for periodicities of the solar irradiance data from the Earth Radiation Budget Satellite (ERBS) using the periodogram method

We have analyzed the solar irradiance data from the Earth Radiation Budget Satellite （ERBS） during the time period from 1984 October 15 to 2003 October *** first filtering the data by Simple Exponential Smoothing,we have applied the periodogram method to the processed data in order to search for its time *** study exhibits multi-periodicities on these data around 110,118,574 and 740d with very high confidence levels （more than 99%）.These periods are significantly similar to the periods of other solar activities which may suggest that solar irradiance may be associated with other solar activities.
