Fluoxetine(Prozac^(TM))is the only antidepressant approved by the US Food and Drug Administration(FDA)for the treatment of major depressive disorder(MDD)in *** its considerable efficacy as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor,the possible long-term effects of fluoxetine on brain development in children are poorly *** the current study,we aimed to delineate molecular mechanisms and protein biomarkers in the brains of juvenile rhesus macaques(Macaca mulatta)one year after the discontinuation of fluoxetine treatment using proteomic and phosphoproteomic *** identified several differences in protein expression and phosphorylation in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex(DLPFC)and cingulate cortex(CC)that correlated with impulsivity in animals,suggesting that the GABAergic synapse pathway may be affected by fluoxetine *** in combination with the identified pathways contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms underlying the chronic effects of fluoxetine after discontinuation in children.

Real-Time Crop Prediction Based on Soil Fertility and Weather Forecast Using IoT and a Machine Learning Algorithm

The aim of this article is to assist farmers in making better crop selection decisions based on soil fertility and weather forecast through the use of IoT and AI (smart farming). To accomplish this, a prototype was developed capable of predicting the best suitable crop for a specific plot of land based on soil fertility and making recommendations based on weather forecast. Random Forest machine learning algorithm was used and trained with Jupyter in the Anaconda framework to achieve an accuracy of about 99%. Based on this process, IoT with the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol, a machine learning algorithm, based on Random Forest, and weather forecast API for crop prediction and recommendations were used. The prototype accepts nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, humidity, temperature and pH as input parameters from the IoT sensors, as well as the weather API for data forecasting. The approach was tested in a suburban area of Yaounde (Cameroon). Taking into account future meteorological parameters (rainfall, wind and temperature) in this project produced better recommendations and therefore better crop selection. All necessary results can be accessed from anywhere and at any time using the IoT system via a web browser.

Initiation of vitellogenesis by blood feeding is essential for egg maturation in *** derived from the blood meal are utilized by female ticks to synthesize the yolk protein precursor vitellogenin(Vg).Engorged Ornithodoros moubata ticks can synthesize Vg whether mated or virgin,thus *** is an excellent model for studying the relative roles of blood feeding and mating in tick *** of rapamycin into engorged *** resulted in a reduction of ovarian growth and yolk accumulation in the oocytes of mated *** expression in the midgut and fat body and protein concentrations in the hemolymph significantly decreased in mated ticks after injection with rapamycin,indicating that inhibition of the nutrient-sensing target of rapamycin(TOR)pathway disrupts egg maturation at the levels of Vg expression and *** results suggest that the TOR-signaling pathway induces vitellogenesis in response to nutritional stimulation after a blood meal in *** and is functionally independent of the mating-induced pathway.

Inhibitory effect of fluvastatin on ileal ulcer formation in rats induced by nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug

AIM: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)cause gastrointestinal damage as one of their side effects in humans and experimental animals. Lipid peroxidation plays an important role in NSAID-induced ulceration. The aim of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA)reductase inhibitors on the ulceration in small intestines of ***: The effects of three HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, fluvastatin, pravastatin and atorvastatin on ileal ulcer formation in 5-bromo-2-(4-fluorophenyl)-3-(4-methylsulfonylphenyl) thiophene (BFMeT)-treated rats were examined. Antioxidative activity of the inhibitors was measured by a redox-linked colorimetric ***: Fluvastatin, which was reported to have antioxidative activity, repressed the ileal ulcer formation in rats treated with BFMeT an NSAIDs. However, the other HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (pravastatin and atorvastatin)did not repress the ileal ulcer formation. Among these HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, fluvastatin showed a significantly stronger reducing power than the others(pravastatin, atorvastatin).CONCLUSION: Fluvastatin having the antioxidaitive activity suppresses ulcer formation in rats induced by NSAIDs.

Spent mushroom substrate(SMS)is an abundant residue generated by the mushroom industry,which is mostly *** this study,the SMS of four cultivated mushrooms were evaluated as potential sources of ligninolytic *** ostreatus,***,*** and Ganoderma lucidum were cultivated in two different substrates to determine growth,mushroom yields and ligninolytic activity of laccase(Lac)and manganese peroxidase(MnP).Maximum activities in the SMS were 3.731 U/g Lac and 0.191 U/g MnP,both for *** mushroom substrates were also analyzed,and higher activities were found in almost all samples.A correlation test between mushroom yields and ligninolytic activities of each culture was made,and we found that high enzymatic activity in the substrate did not result in high mushroom productivity or vice *** SMS was a good source of ligninolytic *** activity depended on the mushroom species and its affinity to the substrate,and it was not influenced by the mushroom *** of mushrooms in diverse lignocellulosic substrates is gaining interest,and ob-taining ligninolytic enzymes from residual SMS is an excellent alternative in the circular economy concept.

Background:The local pivotal method(LPM)utilizing auxiliary data in sample selection has recently been proposed as a sampling method for national forest inventories(NFIs).Its performance compared to simple random sampling(SRS)and LPM with geographical coordinates has produced promising results in simulation *** this simulation study we compared all these sampling methods to systematic *** LPM samples were selected solely using the coordinates(LPMxy)or,in addition to that,auxiliary remote sensing-based forest variables(RS variables).We utilized field measurement data(NFI-field)and Multi-Source NFI(MS-NFI)maps as target data,and independent MS-NFI maps as auxiliary *** designs were compared using relative efficiency(RE);a ratio of mean squared errors of the reference sampling design against the studied *** a method in NFI also requires a proven estimator for the ***,three different variance estimators were evaluated against the empirical variance of replications:1)an estimator corresponding to SRS;2)a Grafström-Schelin estimator repurposed for LPM;and 3)a Matérn estimator applied in the Finnish NFI for systematic sampling ***:The LPMxy was nearly comparable with the systematic design for the most target *** REs of the LPM designs utilizing auxiliary data compared to the systematic design varied between 0.74–1.18,according to the studied target *** SRS estimator for variance was expectedly the most biased and conservative ***,the Grafström-Schelin estimator gave overestimates in the case of *** the RS variables were utilized as auxiliary data,the Grafström-Schelin estimates tended to underestimate the empirical *** systematic sampling the Matérn and Grafström-Schelin estimators performed for practical purposes ***:LPM optimized for a specific variable tended to be more efficient than systematic sampling,but all of the considered LPM designs were
