The primary goal in the analysis of hierarchical distributed monitoring and control architectures is to study the spatiotemporal patterns of the interactions between areas or *** this paper,a novel conceptual framework for distributed monitoring of power system oscillations using multiblock principal component analysis(mB-PcA)and higher-order singular value decomposition(HOSVD)is proposed to understand,characterize,and visualize the global behavior of the power *** proposed framework can be used to evaluate the influence of a given area or utility on the oscillatory behavior,uncover low-dimensional structures from high-dimensional data,and analyze the effects of heterogeneous data on the modal characteristics and interpretation of power *** metrics are then investigated to examine the relationships between the dynamic patterns and participation of individual data blocks in the global behavior of the *** application of these techniques is demonstrated by case studies of two systems:a 14-machine test system and a 5449-bus 635-generator equivalent model of a large power system.

The accurate identification of dinosaur egg accumulations as nests or clutches is crucial for understanding the reproductive behaviour of these extinct ***,existing methods often rely on the presence of complete eggs and embryo remains,and sedimentological criteria that are only applicable to well-structured *** this study,we introduce an innovative approach to characterize egg accumulations in structureless sediments,where traditional nest structures may not be *** methodology employs a unique combination of sedimentological,taphonomic,geochemical,and geophysical proxies for the study of egg *** applied this approach to the egg accumulation from Paimogo(Jurassic,Portugal),traditionally interpreted as a *** findings reveal that the Paimogo egg assemblage is a secondary deposit,resulting from a flooding event in a fluvial plain that dismantled several allosauroid and crocodylomorph *** eggshell vapor conductance results,coupled with sedimentological evidence,suggest that allosauroid dinosaurs buried their eggs in the dry terrain of overbank areas close to a main channel during the breeding season,likely during the dry season to prevent the embryos from *** research underscores the necessity of multidisciplinary approaches in interpreting egg accumulations and offers a novel methodology for studying these accumulations in structureless *** findings provide new insights into the breeding behaviour and nesting preferences of these extinct organisms,contributing to our understanding of dinosaur ecology.

Objective: This systematic review aimed to critically analyze the literature to determine how high-intensity intermittent training(HIIT) affects recreational endurance runners in the short-and ***: Electronic databases were searched for literature dating from January 2000 to October 2015. The search was conducted using the key words "high-intensity intermittent training" or "high-intensity interval exercise" or "interval running" or "sprint interval training" and "endurance runners" or "long distance runners". A systematic approach was used to evaluate the 783 articles identified for initial review. Studies were included if they investigated HIIT in recreational endurance runners. The methodological quality of the studies was evaluated using the Physiotherapy Evidence Database(PEDro) scale(for intervention studies) and the modified Downs and Black Quality Index(for cross-sectional studies).Results: Twenty-three studies met the inclusionary criteria for review. The results are presented in 2 parts: cross-sectional(n = 15) and intervention studies(n = 8). In the 15 cross-sectional studies selected, endurance runners performed at least 1 HIIT protocol, and the acute impact on physiological, neuromuscular, metabolic and/or biomechanical variables was assessed. Intervention studies lasted a minimum of 4 weeks, with 10 weeks being the longest intervention period, and included 2 to 4 HIIT sessions per week. most of these studies combined HIIT sessions with continuous run(cR) sessions; 2 studies' subjects performed HIIT ***: HIIT-based running plans(2 to 3 HIIT sessions per week, combining HIIT and cR runs) show athletic performance improvements in endurance runners by improving maximal oxygen uptake and running economy along with muscular and metabolic adaptations. To maximize the adaptations to training, both HIIT and cR must be part of training programs for endurance runners.

Purpose:The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of 12 weeks of barefoot running on foot strike patterns,inversion-eversion and foot rotation in long-distance ***:Thirty-one endurance runners with no experience in barefoot running were randomized into a control group and an experimental group who received barefoot *** pre-test and post-test,all subjects ran at low and high self-selected speeds on a *** were collected by systematic observation of lateral and back recordings at 240 ***:mcnemar’s test indicated significant changes(p n the experimental group at both high and low speed running in foot strike patterns,reducing the percentage of high rearfoot strikers and increasing the number of midfoot strikers.A significant increase(p nal rotation of the foot and a decrease of inversion occurred at comfortable speed in the experimental ***:Twelve weeks of barefoot running,applied progressively,causes significant changes in foot strike pattern with a tendency toward midfoot or forefoot strikes,regardless of running speed and significant changes in foot rotation at low speed,while the inversion was reduced in left foot at low speed with a tendency toward centered strike.

The terminus of the middle America Trench has been traditionally represented as an arc, concave towards the continent. Tres marías Islands are located at the terminus of the middle America Trench in western mexico, and their location is not only intriguing but also a key to the re-construction of the position of Baja california peninsula before separation from the north America plate. Previous re-constructions suggested various places around the location of Tres marías Islands for the position of the tip of the peninsula, and several converge to a position that invades the area occupied by the islands, offering no explanation for the overlap. Before peninsular separation from north America, the Guadalupe trench followed a smooth curve;recreating the position of this paleo-trench yields a baseline for fixing the position of the peninsula, as well as the original position of the Tres marías Islands fragment. A new tectonic view of the structure of the middle America Trench terminus is proposed, replacing the traditional arc representation with a series of en echelon blocks, the northernmost terminates at the Tres marías Escarpment. The long sides of the blocks correspond to previously identified geological faults in the Bahía de Banderas region, while their offshore continuation is supported by topographic observations. As a test of this model I show the corresponding re-construction of the position of Baja california prior to separation from the north America plate and the positional evolution of the peninsula and the Tres marías fragment from chron 4n.2 (7.90 ma) to chron 3n.4 (5.12 ma).

Kinematic alterations after two high-intensity intermittent training protocols in endurance runners

Purpose:This study aimed to evaluate running kinematic characteristics during the early and late stages of 2 high-intensity intermittent training(HIIT)protocols with similar external load but different average running pace,as well as to compare the fatigue-induced changes during both HIIT protocols at a kinematic ***:Eighteen endurance runners were tested on a track on 2 occasions:10 runs of 400 m with 90-120 s recovery between running bouts(10 × 400 m),and 40 runs of 100 m with 25-30 s recovery between running bouts(40 × 100 m).Heart rate was monitored during both protocols;blood lactate accumulation and rate of perceived exertion were recorded after both exercises.A high-speed camera was used to measure sagittalplane kinematics at the first and last runs during both HIIT *** dependent variables were spatial-temporal parameters(step length and contact and flight time),joint angles during support(relative angles of the hip,knee,and ankle),and foot strike ***:High levels of exhaustion were reached by the athletes during both workouts(blood lactate accumulation>12 mmol/L,rate of perceived exertion>15;peak heart rate(HRpeak)>176 bpm).A within-protocol paired t test(first *** run)revealed no significant changes(p≥0.05)in kinematic variables during any of the HIIT sessions.A between-protocol comparison with the first run of each protocol revealed the effect of running speed on kinematics:+2.44 km/h during the 40 × 100 m:shorter contact and flight time(pnd longer step length(p= 0.001);greater hip flexion(p = 0.031)and ankle extension(p = 0.001)at initial contact;smaller knee and ankle flexion(pmidstance;and greater hip extension at toe-off(pconclusion:HIIT sessions including runs for 15-90 s and performed at intensity above the velocity associated with maximal oxygen uptake did not consistently perturb the running kinematics of trained endurance runners.

metabolic diseases are highly prevalent worldwide and have been associated with adverse clinical outcomes,including mortality,in patients developing coronavirus disease(cOVID-19).Because of the close relationship between metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity and the presence of metabolicassociated fatty liver disease(mAFLD),a high number of cases of patients affected by both mAFLD and cOVID-19 would be expected,especially in highrisk *** studies have shown an increased risk of adverse clinical outcomes,viral shedding,and deep vein thrombosis,especially in patients with mAFLD-related liver *** predisposition to poor outcomes and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection in patients with mAFLD could be secondary to mechanisms common to both,including preexisting systemic chronic inflammation,endothelial dysfunction,and involvement of the renin-angiotensin *** of the increased risk of adverse outcomes,mAFLD should be screened in all patients admitted for *** computed tomography scans could be of help,assessment of liver fibrosis is also recommended,favoring noninvasive methods to limit the exposure of healthcare *** involvement in this population ranges from abnormalities in liver chemistry to hepatic steatosis in postmortem ***,preventive measures should be strongly advocated in patients already known to have mAFLD,including the use of telemedicine and vaccination in addition to general measures.
