The role of additional ternary alloying elements on the performance of stationary TiFe-based hydrogen storage alloys was investigated based on first-principles density functional theory *** a basic step for examinations,the site preference of each alloying element in the stoichiometric and nonstoichiometric B2TiFe compounds was clarified considering possible antisite *** on the revealed site preference,the effect of various possible ternary elements on the hydrogen storage was examined by focusing on the formation enthalpies of TiFeH and TiFeH_(2) hydrides,which were closely related to the change in the location of plateaus in the pressure-composition-temperature *** physical properties such as the volume expansion due to hydride formation were also examined to provide additional criteria for selecting optimum alloying conditions in future alloying design *** alloying elements that maximize the grain boundary embrittlement due to the solute segregation were proposed for the enhanced initial activation of TiFe-based hydrogen storage alloys.

Single-ion conductors based on covalent organic frameworks(COFs)have garnered attention as a potential alternative to currently prevalent inorganic ion conductors owing to their structural uniqueness and chemical ***,the sluggish Li+conduction has hindered their practical ***,we present a class of solvent-free COF single-ion conductors(Li-COF@P)based on weak ion-dipole interaction as opposed to traditional strong ion-ion *** ion(Li+from the COF)-dipole(oxygen from poly(ethylene glycol)diacrylate embedded in the COF pores)interaction in the Li-COF@P promotes ion dissociation and Li+migration via directional ionic *** by this single-ion transport behavior,the Li-COF@P enables reversible Li plating/stripping on Li-metal electrodes and stable cycling performance(88.3%after 2000 cycles)in organic batteries(Li metal anode||5,5’-dimethyl-2,2’-bis-p-benzoquinone(Me2BBQ)cathode)under ambient operating conditions,highlighting the electrochemical viability of the Li-COF@P for all-solid-state organic batteries.

Although alpha-synuclein is generally thought to have a pathological role in Parkinson＇s disease, accumulative evidence exists that alpha-synuclein has a neuroprotective effect. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of extracellular alpha-synuclein on dopaminergic cell survival. We assessed cell viability using the 3-（4,5-dimethyt-thiazol-2-yt）-2,5-diphenyltertazolium bromide （MTT） assay both in undifferentiated SH-SY5Y （SHSY） cells and neuronally-differentiated SH-SY5Y （ndSHSY） cells after 24 hour treatment with monomeric alpha-synuclein at various concentrations （0 [control], 50, 100 nmol/L, 1 IJmol/L）. To determine whether cell viability assessed by MTT assay was affected by cell proliferation, 5-bromo-2＇-deoxyuridine （BrdU） incorporation assay was per- formed. Level of both Akt and phosphorylated Akt was measured using western blot method in ndSHSY cells with or without 24 hour alpha-synuclein treatment. Cell viability was increased in ndSHSY cells at the nanomolar concentration of alpha-synuclein, but not in SHSY cells. Proportion of BrdU-positive ndSHSY cells was decreased in alpha-synuclein-treated group compared with control group. Level of phosphorylated Akt in alpha-synuclein-treated group was higher compared with the control group. Our study shows that extracellular alpha-synuclein at nanomolar concentra- tion benefits dopaminergic cell survival via Akt pathway.

The aim of this study was to design and evaluate extended-release formulations of a model drug,nicorandil,in order to achieve the desired steady-state plasma concentration of drug in *** was employed to estimate optimum dissolution and absorption rate of *** dissolution test was employed using pH 1.2,4.0,6.8 buffer solution,or water,to measure the in vitro release behaviors of nicorandil formulations.A single dose(15 mg)of each formulation was orally administered to four beagle dogs under fasted conditions,and the pharmacokinetic parameters were *** in vitro/in vivo relationship of the extended-release formulation was confirmed using in vitro dissolution profiles and plasma concentrations of drug in beagle *** was released completely within 30 min from the immediate-release tablets and released for 24 h from the extended-release *** nicorandil plasma concentration could be modified by adjusting the drug release rate from the extended-release *** release rate of nicorandil was the rate-limiting step in the overall absorption of drug from the extendedrelease *** results highlight the potential of a nicorandil extended-release formulation in the treatment of angina pectoris.

The carbon dioxide （CO2） removal efficiency, reaction rate, and CO2 loading into aqueous blended monoethanolamine （MEA）＋ 2-amino-2-methyl-l-propanol （AMP） solutions to enhance absorption characteristics of MEA and AMP were carried out by the absorption/regeneration process. As a result, compared to aqueous MEA and AMP solutions, aqueous blended MEA ＋ AMP solutions have a higher CO2 loading than MEA and a higher reaction rate than AMP. The CO2 loading of rich amine of aqueous 18 wt.% MEA ＋ 12 wt.% AMP solution was 0.62 mol CO2/mol amine, which is 51.2% more than 30 wt.% MEA （0.41 mol CO2/mol amine）. Consequently, blending MEA and AMP could be an effective way to design considering economical efficiency and used to operate absorber for a long time.

Recent advances in 360 video streaming technologies have enhanced the immersive experience of video streaming ***,there is immense potential for the application of 360 video encoding formats to achieve highly immersive virtual reality(VR)***,360 video streaming requires considerable bandwidth,and its performance depends on several ***,the optimization of 360 video bitstreams according to viewport texture is ***,we propose an adaptive solution for VR systems using viewport-dependent tiled 360 video *** increase the degrees of freedom of users,the moving picture experts group(MPEG)recently defined three degrees plus of freedom(3DoF+)and six degrees of freedom(6DoF)to support free user movement within camera-captured *** proposed method supports 6DoF to allow users to move their heads ***,we propose viewport-dependent tiled 360 video streaming based on users’head *** proposed system generates an adaptive bitstream using tile sets that are selected according to a parameter set of user’s viewport *** extracted bitstream is then transmitted to the user’s *** decoding,the user’s viewport is generated and rendered on VR head-mounted display(HMD).Furthermore,we introduce certain approaches to reduce the motion-to-photon *** experimental results demonstrated that,in contrast with non-tiled streaming,the proposed method achieved high-performance 360 video streaming for VR systems,with a 25.89%BD-rate saving for Y-PSNR and 61.16%for decoding time.

The alpha-case formation reactions between Ti and investment molds （Al-2O-3,ZrSiO-4,ZrO-2,CaO stabilized ZrO-2） were evaluated in a plasma arc melting *** of thermodynamic approaches,there were distinct alpha-case *** reaction products were characterized by electron probe micro-analysis and transmission electron ***α-case generation between Ti and Al-2O-3 mold was not able to be explained by the conventionalα-case formation mechanism,which is known to be formed by the interstitials,especially oxygen dissolved from mold ***,from our experimental results and thermodynamic calculations,it was confirmed that theα-case is formed not only by an interstitial element but also by substitutional metallic elements dissolved from mold *** newly establishedα-case formation mechanism will surely lead to a variety of significant applications of theα-case controlled Ti casting.

With the rapid evolution of Internet of things(IoT),many edge devices require simultaneous connection in 5G communication *** afford massive data of IoT devices,multiple input multiple output non-orthogonal multiple access(MIMO-NOMA)method has been considered as a promising ***,there are numerous drawbacks due to error propagation and inter-user ***,proposed scheme aims to improve the reliability of the MIMO-NOMA system with digital beamforming and intracluster cooperative multi point(CoMP)to efficiently support IoT *** the conventional MIMO-NOMA system,user entities are grouped into *** diagonalization(BD)is applied to efficiently eliminate the inter-cluster interference of the MIMO-NOMA ***,since the channel path of the data stream from a single antenna to a single cluster doesn’t hold other cluster’s data,the system can’t fully utilize the selective subcarrier channel *** indicates that there can be better channel paths for a data stream at a certain subcarrier ***,proposed scheme allocates data streams to antennas adaptively considering selective channel ***,intra-cluster CoMP method is adjusted to enhance the reliability of the system in the *** simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves BER and throughput performance compared to the conventional MIMO-NOMA system.

Albumin nanoparticles are considered to be an effective way to load water-insoluble anticancer drugs and target tumors via the gp60-mediated pathway. Herein, we fabricated an albumin nanoparticle formulation for co-loading paclitaxel(PTX) and curcumin(CCM), both of which have prominent anticancer efficacy, via nanoparticle albumin-bound(NabTM) technology using high-pressure homogenization. The PTX/CCM co-bound albumin nanoparticles(PTX/CCM Alb-NPs) had a slightly greater particle size of ~250 nm than that of plain PTX AlbNPs and CCM Alb-NPs(~234 and ~134 nm, respectively), with spherical surface morphology and stable size maintenance. However, the zeta potential of PTX/CCM Alb-NPs(ca.-30 mV)was not significantly different from that of PTX or CCM Alb-NPs. The loaded PTX and CCM were released gradually from the PTX/CCM Alb-NPs over ~24 h(97.7 ± 1.7% and 76.2 ± 0.5%,respectively). Furthermore, PTX/CCM Alb-NPs appeared to be efficiently internalized into Mia Paca-2 cells and exhibited a 71% increased IC50 versus PTX Alb-NPs in terms of cytotoxicity to Mia Paca-2 cells. These results suggest that PTX/CCM Alb-NPs are a new potential anticancer agent for combination therapy.
