Nowadays remote sensing is an important technique for observing Earth surface applied to different areas such as, land use, urban planning, remote monitoring, real time deformation of the soil that can be associated with earthquakes or landslides, the variations in thickness of the glaciers, the measurement of volume changes in the case of volcanic eruptions, deforestation, etc. To follow the evolution of these phenomena and to predict their future states, many approaches have been proposed. However, these approaches do not respond completely to the specialists who process yet more commonly the data extracted from the images in their studies to predict the future. In this paper, we propose an innovative methodology based on hidden Markov models (HMM). Our approach exploits temporal series of satellite images in order to predict spatio-temporal phenomena. It uses HMM for representing and making prediction concerning any objects in a satellite image. The first step builds a set of feature vectors gathering the available information. The next step uses a Baum-Welch learning algorithm on these vectors for detecting state changes. Finally, the system interprets these changes to make predictions. The performance of our approach is evaluated by tests of space-time interpretation of events conducted over two study sites, using different time series of SPOT images and application to the change in vegetation with LANDSAT images.

This work presents a theoretical simulation of the infrared spectra of strong hydrogen bond in alpha-phase 2-pyridone dimers, as well as in their deuterium derivatives at room temperature. The theory takes into account an adiabatic anharmonic coupling between the high-frequency N-H(D) stretching and the low-frequency intermolecular N...O stretching modes by considering that the effective angular frequency of the fast mode N-H(D) is assumed to be strongly dependent on the slow mode stretching coordinate N...O, the intrinsic anharmonicity of the low-frequency N...O mode through a Morse potential, Davydov coupling triggered by resonance exchange between the excited states of the fast modes of the two hydrogen bonds involved in the cyclic dimer, multiple Fermi resonances between the N-H(D) stretching and the overtone of the N-H(D) bending vibrations and the direct and indirect damping of the fast stretching modes of the hydrogen bonds and of the bending modes. The IR spectral density is computed within the linear response theory by Fourier transform of the autocorrelation function of the transition dipole moment operator of the N-H(D) bond. The theoretical line shapes of the υN-H(D) band of alpha-phase 2-pyridone dimers are compared to the experimental ones. The effect of deuteration is successfully reproduced.

A simple electrochemical sensor for dopamine detection, is based on molecularly imprinted and electropolymerized over-oxidized polypyrrole (OPPy). The MIP-based electrode is obtained by electrocopolymerization of pyrrole (0.1 M) in the presence of the template molecular (dopamine, DA) (10-3 M). The square wave voltammetry (SWV) is used for the detection of dopamine in buffer solution. The current peak obtained at the MIP electrode was proportional to the logarithm of the DA concentration in the range of 10-11 to 5 × 10-8 M with a detection limit of 10-11 M. The proposed sensor was used for the detection of DA in spiked blood serum, satisfactory results were obtained.

Using the theory of weighted Sobolev spaces with variable exponent and the L1-version on Minty’s lemma, we investigate the existence of solutions for some nonhomogeneous Dirichlet problems generated by the Leray-Lions operator of divergence form, with right-hand side measure. Among the interest of this article is the given of a very important approach to ensure the existence of a weak solution of this type of problem and of generalization to a system with the minimum of conditions.

The preliminary aim of this study was to reach food balance （quantitative and qualitative） of the meals provided by the school canteen at the Wilaya of Tieret, and its relationship to the physical activity practised, adequately through using a definite method to weight the amounts of food distributed for the meals, and to calculate the energetic expenditure of the physical activity, with an informative exploration of data and the value standards of the dispensed energy that is highly recommended by the （CNRS/CNERA 1992） center. The results of the main findings revealed that the value of macronutrients was smaller than the approved standards. Additionally, the value of the total protein weight per a day was 49.23 g, the fat value as 24.11 g and carbohydrate value as 190.87 g. The results showed also that protein diversity, animal and vegetal fats did not match the standards since the animal protein ratio was 27.76% and the vegetal as 72.24% from the whole total of protein. The percentage of the vegetal fat was 43.49% and the animal 56.31% Moreover, there is a weak correlation between the value of the expended and consumed energy. The Pearson＇s coefficient of males reached 0.09- and 0.39- for females. Furthermore, the value of the consumed energy did not fit the standards recommended for both males and females ages between 10/13 years old. On the basis of the previous pieces of information, we majorly recommend the achievement of a similar investigation for the rest parts of the country in order to reach a balanced nutrition for our children on internal schools.

The aim of this work is to assess the short term effect of OMWW （olive mill waste water） application on chemical and biological soil properties. A field experiment was carried out in southern Tunisia. OMWW application was done at rates equivalent to 0, 15, 30 and 45 m^3/ha. Results showed that increasing rates of OMWW enhance the soil fertility due to its richness in organic matter such as N and P. A rapid increase of microbial biomass （during 14 days of incubation） of OMWW amended soils occurred. However, a high increase in salinity values and phenolic compounds concentrations was observed during this experiment.

The flywheel energy storage system (FESS) has been rediscovered a few years ago, it is a rotary system allowing the storage and restoration of kinetic energy which has an inertia wheel. The current paper investigates an assembly design of the flywheel for durable, maintainable and optimal performance. The designed model is based on a geometrical configuration which was already studied in a previous research. Using SolidWorks modelling and simulation capabilities, the model was designed and investigated with different combination of materials. A total of 16 combinations has been tested at high speed and then analyzed in order to optimize the effect of materials on the efficiency of the flywheel and particularly on the specific energy and stress Von-Mises stress. This research shows that a good geometric design of the flywheel and selection of combination of two materials can improve its energy storage capacity. Maximum specific energy of 55,764.538 J/Kg, is observed in the flywheel of combined material which is about 13% higher than flywheel of a single material.

Characterization and Classification of Groundwater from Wells Using an Electronic Tongue (Kairouan, Tunisia)

A sensor array comprising 9 potentiometric chemical sensors and some pattern recognition tools for the data processing has been applied in order to characterize the groundwater in the plain of Kairouan Region (Tunisia). A total of 17 groundwater samples were collected from three different villages and analyzed for their chemical components. Nine chemical parameters were determined: Potassium, Sodium, Calcium, Ammonium, Cadmium, Chlorides, Nitrates, Fluoride and pH. Multi-sensor responses measured in each water sample were diagnosed by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Cluster Analysis (CA). PCA is a procedure for reducing data redundancy. CA is used to detect spatial similarity among sampling sites. This methodology is simple, rapid and the obtained results demonstrate that the electronic tongue technique based on the sensor array combined with pattern recognition method could be a useful tool for the characterization and the classification of wells water samples.
