This study examines the nonlinear behaviors of a clamped-clamped porous pipe made of a functionally graded material(FGm) that conveys fluids and is equipped with a retaining clip, focusing on primary resonance and subcritical dynamics. The nonlinear governing equations for the FGm pipe are derived by the extended Hamilton's principle, and subsequently discretized through the application of the Galerkin *** direct method of multi-scales is then used to solve the derived equations. A thorough analysis of various parameters, including the clip stiffness, the power-law index, the porosity, and the clip location, is conducted to gain a comprehensive understanding of the system's nonlinear dynamics. Through the analysis of the first natural frequency, the study highlights the influence of the flow velocity and the clip stiffness, while the comparisons with metallic pipes emphasize the role of FGm composition. The examination of the forced response curves reveals saddle-node bifurcations and their dependence on parameters such as the detuning parameter and the power-law index, offering valuable insights into the system's nonlinear resonant behavior. Furthermore, the frequency-response curves illustrate the hardening nonlinearities influenced by factors such as the porosity and the clip stiffness, revealing nuanced effects on the system response and resonance characteristics. This comprehensive analysis enhances the understanding of nonlinear behaviors in FGm porous pipes with a retaining clip, providing key insights for practical engineering applications in system design and optimization.

Stereospecific recognition of chiral molecules plays a crucial role in biological systems. The μ-opioid receptor（mOR） exhibits binding affinity towards（-）-morphine, a well-established gold standard in pain management, while it shows minimal binding affinity for the（+）-morphine enantiomer, resulting in a lack of analgesic activity. Understanding how mOR stereoselectively recognizes morphine enantiomers has remained a puzzle in neuroscience and pharmacology for over half-a-century due to the lack of direct observation techniques. To unravel this mystery, we constructed the binding and unbinding processes of morphine enantiomers with mOR via molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the thermodynamics and kinetics governing mOR's stereoselective recognition of morphine enantiomers. Our findings reveal that the binding of（-）-morphine stabilizes mOR in its activated state, exhibiting a deep energy well and a prolonged residence time. In contrast,（+）-morphine fails to sustain the activation state of ***, the results suggest that specific residues, namely D1142.50and D1473.32, are deprotonated in the active state of mOR bound to（-）-morphine. This work highlights that the selectivity in molecular recognition goes beyond binding affinities, extending into the realm of residence time.

Recently,scientific interest has grown in harvesting and treating stormwater for potable water use,in order to combat the serious global water scarcity *** this context,pesticides have been identified as the key knowledge gap as far as reusing stormwater is *** paper reviewed the presence of pesticides in stormwater runoff in both rural and urban ***,the sources of pesticide contamination and possible pathways were investigated in this *** factors affecting pesticides in stormwater runoff were critically identified as:1)characteristics of precipitation,2)properties of pesticide,3)patterns of pesticides use,and 4)properties of application *** available pesticide mitigation strategies including best management practice(BmP),low impact development(LID),green infrastructure(GI)and sponge city(SC)were also included in this *** the future,large-scale multi-catchment studies that directly evaluate pesticide concentrations in both urban and rural stormwater runoff will be of great importance for the development of effective pesticides treatment approaches and stormwater harvesting strategies.

Enhancing fly ash utilization in backfill materials treated with CO_(2)carbonation under ambient conditions

The environmental concerns resulting from coal-fired power generation that produces large amounts of CO_(2)and fly ash are of great *** mitigate,this study aims to develop a novel carbonated CO_(2)-fly ash-based backfill(CFBF)material under ambient *** performance of CFBF was investigated for different fly ash-cement ratios and compared with non-CO_(2)reacted *** fresh CFBF slurry conformed to the Herschel-Bulkley model with shear thinning *** carbonation,the yield stress of the fresh slurry increased significantly by lowering fly ash ratio due to gel *** setting times were accelerated,resulting in approximately 40.6%of increased early *** final strength decreased when incorporating a lower fly ash ratio(50%and 60%),which was related to the existing heterogeneous pores caused by rapid fluid *** strength increased with fly ash content above 70%because additional C-S(A)-H and silica gels were characterized to precipitate on the grain surface,so the binding between particles *** C-S(A)-H gel was developed through the pozzolanic reaction,where CaCO_(3)was the prerequisite calcium source obtained in the CO_(2)-fly ash ***,the maximum CO_(2)uptake efficiency was 1.39 mg-CO_(2)/*** CFBF material is feasible to co-dispose CO_(2)and fly ash in the mine goaf as negative carbon backfill materials,and simultaneously mitigates the strata movement and water lost in post-subsurface mining.

Blockchain technology is impacting several industries,including the creative industries and those operating in the Internet of Things(IoT).Lately,researchers'attention has been devoted to the application of blockchain in the recorded music ***,thus far,no research has investigated the use of such technology in the Internet of musical Things(IomusT).The IomusT is a new area emerging in industry and academy as an extension of the IoT to the musical *** IomusT itself,as the IoT,is a distributed network of musical things,which are objects augmented with information and communication technologies serving a musical *** IomusT vision requires,above all,IoT features such as decentralization,seamless authentication,transparency,data integrity and privacy,and self-maintenance,as well as the musical domain features such as efficient handling of copyrights and speed of royalties *** features can be brought by *** this paper,we investigate the integration of blockchain technology with the IomusT,and we name such synthesis“Blockchain-based IomusT”.We present a vision for this new paradigm in terms of the novel opportunities that are enabled,and we propose a set of application scenarios enabled by technological ***,we outline the open research directions in this promising area.

Rhabdomyomatous well-differentiated esophageal liposarcomas are extremely rare. As of August 2016, only one other such case has been reported in the English-language medical literature. Liposarcomas in general are one of the most common soft tissue neoplasms in adults, but the incidence of primary esophageal liposarcomas is exceptionally low. There have been only 42 reported cases of primary liposarcoma of the esophagus worldwide thus far. These malignancies are harbored within giant fibrovascular polyps, which slowly grow within the esophageal lumen causing obstructing symptoms. We hereby present the case of a 68-year-old male patient who came in with a 2-mo history of worsening intermittent dysphagia, persistent cough, and postprandial retrosternal pain. After an esophagogastroduodenoscopy, a computed tomographic scan, and a diagnostic endoscopy, complete endoscopic resection was performed of the 13 cm × 6 cm × 2.6 cm fibrovascular polyp. A literature review was done and results are presented herein.

Functional characterization of the NF-κB transcription factor gene REL2 from Anopheles gambiae

The REL2 gene plays an important role in innate immunity against both Gram （＋） and Gram （-） bacteria and malaria parasites in Anopheles gambiae, the main vector of malaria in Africa. Through alternative splicing, REL2 produces two protein products, REL2F （with a Rel-homology domain as well as an inhibitory ankyrin repeat region） and REL2S （without the ankyrin repeats）. In the immune-competent cell line SualB from An. gambiae, REL2 has been shown to be a key regulator for cecropin A （or CEC1）. The high level expression of CEC1 in SualB was postulated to be the result of constitutive activation of REL2F. Here we showed that REL2F is indeed processed, albeit at a low level, in the SualB cell line. The primary cleavage requires residue 678 （an aspartic acid）. Proteolytic cleavage of REL2F can be enhanced by challenge with bacteria Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis, but not with fungus Beauveria bassiana. The inducible cleavage can be substantially reduced by RNA interference against PGRP-LC and CASPL1. Over-expression of REL2S or a constitutively active form of REL2F （REL2F380C or REL2F678） in An. gambiae cell line can further increase expression of CEC1 and other antimicrobial peptide genes. Over-expression of these constitutive active proteins in an immune naive cell line, mSQ43, from Anopheles stephensi, results in even more dramatic increased expression of antimicrobial peptides.
