Background:IgG4-related hypertrophic pachymeningitis is a relative newly recognized and rare manifestation of IgG4-related disease,an immune-mediated fibroinflammatory tumefactive *** than 80 patients have been reported in the literature,and it can mimic common neurosurgical *** describe the clinical presentation of two patients that were initially considered to have a subdural collection,tuberculous meningitis,and a cervical spinal meningioma,but were eventually diagnosed with this *** presentation:Two ethnic chinese men,86 and 62 years old,experienced a 4-week history of *** patients had a history of autoimmune disease,namely glomerulonephritis and Grave’s disease,*** resonance brain imaging revealed diffuse dural thickening with the latter patient exhibiting homogeneous and intense gadolinium-contrast *** the 86-year-old patient also had progressive bilateral visual loss,giant cell arteritis was suspected and a 2-week course of glucocorticoid therapy was prescribed,but his symptoms failed to *** 62-year-old patient also had accompanying low-grade fever and was treated empirically as having tuberculous meningitis although there were no confirmatory microbiological *** patient further developed right hemiparesis,and additional imaging revealed a c4/5 intradural-extramedullary contrast-enhancing lesion resembling a meningioma causing cord *** patients underwent neurosurgical intervention with the former undergoing a dural biopsy and the latter having the cervical lesion *** final diagnosis was IgG4-related hypertrophic pachymeningitis with the hallmark histological features of lymphoplasmacytic infiltration of IgG4+plasma cells,storiform fibrosis,and obliterative *** addition,their serum IgG4 levels were elevated(i.e.,>135 mg/dL).Both patients received at least 6 months of glucocorticoid therapy while the latter also had *** symptom

In this study,we used a network meta-analysis(NMA)to compare the effectiveness of medicines and supplements for idiopathic male infertility and to identify the best ***,Excerpta Medica Database(EMBASE),Ovid,and china National Knowledge Infrastructure(cNKI),were searched for the period from January 1990 to June 2021 using the keywords"male infertility,""medical therapy,""supplement/nutrient therapy,"and related *** controlled trials(RcTs)investigating medicines(mainly follicle-stimulating hormone(fSH),androgen,and clomiphene/tamoxifen)or supplements(mainly zinc,selenium,vitamin c or E,carnitine,coenzyme Q10(coQ10),or combined treatment)for idiopathic infertile men were selected for *** reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis(PRISMA)was used for data extraction,and a risk-of-bias tool and grades of recommendation,assessment,development,and evaluation(GRADE)system adapted to the NMA were employed to assess the quality of the *** primary outcomes were live birth and spontaneous pregnancy rate(SPR).The secondary outcomes were sperm parameters(including concentration,progressive motility,and morphology)and side *** total,65 RcTs involving 7541 men with sperm abnormalities but normal hormone levels were included.A total of 36 studies reported SPR but only three reported live birth *** quality of the included studies was found to be moderate to *** with a placebo or being untreated,carnitine plus vitamins significantly improved SPR(relative risk(RR)=3.7,95%confidence interval(95%cI),1.6-8.5);fatty acids significantly increased sperm concentrations(mean difference(MD)=12.5×10^(6)mL-1,95%cI,3.1×10^(6)-22.0×10^(6));and selective estrogen receptor modulator(SERM)plus coQ10 significantly improved sperm progressive motility(MD=11.0%,95%cI,0.1%-21.9%)and normal sperm morphology(MD=11.0%,95%cI,4.6%-17.4%).The most optimal intervention was carnitine plus vitamins and fatty acids for SPR a

The modulational instability in the three coupled α-polypeptide chains of a collagen molecule is investigated. choosing symmetric and asymmetric solutions, and applying the so-called rotating-wave approximation, we describe the dynamics of the system by the discrete nonlinear Schrodinger （DNLS） equation. The linear stability analysis of the continuous wave solution is performed. The numerical simulations show the generation of trains of solitonic structures in the lattice with increasing amplitude as time progresses. The effect of damping and noise forces of the physiological temperature （T = 300 K） introduces an erratic behavior to the formed patterns, reinforcing the idea that the energy used in metabolic processes is confined to specific regions for efficiency.

Zircon U-Pb dating and geochemical study of the Xianggou granite in the Ma'anqiao gold deposit and its relationship with gold mineralization

Single zircon LA-IcP-MS U-Pb dating and lithogeochemical studies have been performed on the Xianggou monzonitic granitic porphyry outcropped in the Ma’anqiao gold deposit.A weighted average U-Pb age of 242.0±0.8 Ma for Xianggou monzonitic porphyry has been *** corresponds with the conclusions of previous studies indicating a syn-orogenic age (242±21 Ma) of the Qinling Orogenic Belt,suggesting that the formation of the Xianggou granite should be associated with the collisional event of the North china Plate and the Yangtze Plate in the Indosinian *** Xianggou granite is characterized by the high silicon and alkali of high K calc-alkaline series *** is rich in Al (Al2O3=14.49%-15.61%) and Sr (457.10-630.82 ppm),poor in Y (f Sr/Y (76.24-97.34) and (La/Yb)N (29.65-46.10),as well as strongly fractionated REE *** geochemical characteristics suggest the Xianggou granite can be classified as c-type adakitic *** initial Sr isotope ratios for the Xianggou granite vary from 0.70642 to 0.70668,εNd(t) values from -4.54 to -3.98,and TDM values from 1152 Ma to 1220 *** low εNd(t) and ISr and high TDM values,as well as Na2O/K2O ratios of the Xianggou granite are close to 1 (Na2O/K2O=0.95-1.10),indicating that it is not an I-type adakite formed by partial melting of the subducting oceanic crust,nor adakitic rock formed by melting of the underplated basaltic lower crust,but the product of partial melting of the nonunderplated basaltic thickened lower *** from the Xianggou pluton have a homogeneous Hf isotopic composition with negative εHf(t) values (between -9.7 and -5.9,with an average of -6.9),indicating that the rock-forming materials were mostly extracted from the ancient crust,not from the depleted *** Xianggou monzonitic granitic porphyry is rich in LILE and LREE and depleted in HSfE,HREE and Y;the composition of trace element and REE are similar to those

Audit pricing and nature of controlling shareholders:Evidence from france

This study examines whether auditors are employed as a monitoring mechanism to mitigate agency problems arising from different types of controlling shareholders. In a context of concentrated ownership and poor investor protection, controlling shareholders can easily expropriate wealth from minority shareholders and profit from private benefits of control. However, this agency conflict has been rarely studied, as the most commonly assumed agency conflict occurs between managers and shareholders. Using an audit fee model derived from , we study the impact of the nature of controlling shareholders on audit fees in french listed firms. Our results show: (1) a negative relationship between audit fees and government shareholdings; (2) a positive relationship between audit fees and institutional shareholdings; and (3) no relationship between audit fees and family shareholdings. These results illustrate the mixed effects of the nature of ownership on audit fees.
