An analysis of the heat transfer for a boundary layer forced convective flow past a moving permeable flat surface parallel to a moving fluid is presented. Prescribed surface temperature at the boundary is considered, A thermal radiation term in the energy equation is considered. The similarity solutions for the problem are obtained and the reduced ordinary differential equations are solved numerically. To support the validity of the numerical results, a comparison is made with the available results for some particular cases of this study. Dual solutions exist when the surface and the fluid move in the opposite directions.

Unsteady mixed convective boundary layer flow and heat transfer over a stretching vertical surface in the presence of slip axe investigated. It is noted that fluid velocity decreases due to the increasing velocity slip parameter resulting in an increase in the temperature field. The rate of heat transfer decreases with the velocity slip parameter while it increases with unsteadiness parameter. The same feature is also noticed for thermal slip parameter.

In this paper we investigate the two-dimensional flow of a non-Newtonian fluid over an unsteady stretching permeable surface. The Casson fluid model is used to characterize the non-Newtonian fluid behavior. First-order constructive/destructive chemical reaction is considered. With the help of a shooting method, numerical solutions for a class of nonlinear coupled differential equations subject to appropriate boundary conditions are obtained. For the steady flow, the exact solution is obtained. The flow features and the mass transfer characteristics for different values of the governing parameters are analyzed and discussed in detail.

Biofabrication of noble monometallic platinum nanoparticles(Pt-NPs) and bimetallic gold–silver nanoparticles(Au Ag-NPs) using aqueous extract of Delonix regia is presented here. Antioxidant activity of biomatrix-loaded metallic nanoparticles is estimated for scavenging of two model radicals i.e., 2,2′-Azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt and 1,1′-Diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl. Broad spectral continuum spanning from visible to ultra-violet region(Pt-NPs: 30 min) and broad high intensity absorption peak around at 500 nm(Au Ag-NPs: 10 min) in two different UV–Visible spectra confirmed the biofabrication. Nanoparticles fabricated with distorted spherical shape and crystalline face-centred-cubic geometry. Strong signal around at 2.10 ke V(pure-phase platinum) and typical X-ray peaks observed at 2.20 and 3 ke V suggested, co-existence and alloying interaction of Au and Ag in Au Ag-NPs. ζ potential(-15.2 mV: Pt-NPs and -13.9 mV: Au Ag-NPs) values suggested surface adsorption of polyphenolic compounds to provide stability. Nanoparticles exhibited pronounced antioxidant activity against free radicals through their electron/hydrogen transfer ability.

The effects of in-situ generated coinage nanometals（Cu,Ag and Au） on crystallization behavior,microstructure,thermal and mechanical properties of SiO2-MgO-Al2O3-B2O3-K2O-MgF2（BMAPS） glassceramics were systematically *** addition of coinage nanometai,the glass transition temperature（Tg） is increased by 20-30 ℃,crystallization temperature（Tc） by 30-50 ℃ and dilatometric softening temperature（Td） by 10-25 ℃.It was found that the density of Cu-containing glass was 2.59 g cm-3and for other glasses it was in the range of 2.56-2.57 g *** the non-isothermal differential scanning calorimetry study,the activation energy of crystallization for BMAPS base glass was calculated as 344 kJ/mol,and changed to 406,334 and 274 kJ/mol on addition of Cu,Ag and Au-nanometals,*** evolved in the opaque BMAPS glass-ceramics derived by controlled heat treatment,were identified as fluorophlogopite mica(KMg3(AlSi3O10)F2) by X-ray diffraction（XRD） technique and confirmed by Fourier transformed infrared *** of copper,silver and gold nanometals were also identified by XRD *** is found from field emission scanning electron microscopy that the interlocked grain like microstructure developed in BMAPS glass-ceramics（being heat-treated at 1050 ℃ for 4 h） changed to denser house-of-cards like microstructure（containing smaller sized mica crystals） on addition of coinage *** of BMAPS base glass-ceramic was 2.60 g cm-3and marginally changed to 2.61-2.62 g cm-3on addition of Cu,Ag and *** change in microstructure resulted in the decrease of Vickers micro hardness value from 5.37 to 4.12,4.20 and 4.58 GPa on addition of Cu,Ag and Au,*** nanometai doped mica glass-ceramics containing interlocked microstructure with higher thermal expansion coefficient,hence,is suitable for high temperature sealing application（like solid oxide fuel cell）.

Nonlinear materials have been well established as photo refractive switching material. Important applica- tions of isotropic nonlinear materials are seen in self-focusing, defocusing phenomena, switching systems, etc. The nonlinear correction term is basically responsible for the optical switches. Mach-Zehnder inter- ferometer （MZI） is a well-known arrangement for determining the above correction term, but there are some major problems for finding out the term by MZI. We propose a new method of finding the nonlinear correction term as well as the second order nonlinear susceptibility of the materials by using a modified MZI system. This method may be used to find out the above parameters for any unknown nonlinear material.
