Bird fauna checklis.s.are important tools.in ecology, biology, and cons.rvation planning for s.ientis.s. s.akeholders. and decis.on-makers. Des.ite its.s.all area, the Gaza s.rip (365 kms.p>2s.p>) has.a relatively large variety of res.dent and migratory bird fauna. Therefore, the current s.udy aimed to provide an updated checklis. of all bird fauna living in or inhabiting the Gaza s.rip. Direct field obs.rvations.us.ng binoculars. continuous.vis.ts.to zoos. pet s.ores.and biology mus.ums. dis.us.ion with bird hunters. follow-up of news.and s.cial networking s.tes. review of s.ientific publications.and photography were the main tools.to s.tis.y the purpos. of the s.udy. At leas. 250 bird s.ecies.collected from different s.urces.occur in the Gaza s.rip and are included in the checklis.. This.lis. will not be s.atic, but is.inevitably s.bject to additions.and changes.in the face of times. The current 250 bird s.ecies.of the Gaza s.rip repres.nt 45.4% of the 551 s.ecies.of birds.living in Pales.ine. The bird s.ecies.were found to belong to 21 orders.and 61 families. The Pas.eriformes.(pas.erines. repres.nted the larges. order with 96 s.ecies.of birds.(38.4%), followed by the Charadriiformes.54 (21.6%), the Accipitriformes.18 (7.2%), Ans.riformes.17 (6.8%) and Pelecaniformes.14 (5.6%), while the other orders.repres.nted the remaining percentage (20.4%). With regard to families. the s.olopacidae repres.nted the larges. family with 22 s.ecies.of birds.(8.8%), followed by the Anatidae and Accipitridae 17 for each (6.8%), the Mus.icapidae 16 (6.4%) and Chariidridae and Fringillidae 11 for each (4.4%), while the other families.repres.nted the remaining percentage (62.4%). According to the IUCN regional threat categories. 226 s.ecies.(90.4%) were Leas. Concern (LC), 12 (4.8%) were Near Threatened (NT), 6 (2.4%) were Vulnerable (VU), 4 (1.6%) were Endangered (EN) and 2 (0.8%) were Critically Endangered (CR). The Mediterranean s.a is.home to an interes.ing biodivers.ty. The current cumulative and des.riptive s.udy aims.to enumerate s.me relatively large marine mammals. reptiles. and fis.es.that have been s.otted, caught, by-caught, or s.randed on the coas. of the Gaza s.rip, Pales.ine, which extends.about 42 km along the Mediterranean s.a. This.20-year s.udy from 2003 to 2022 relied much on frequent field vis.ts. meetings. and dis.us.ions.with s.akeholders. following local media s.tes.and s.cial media pages. and photography. The s.udy recorded at leas. 26 giants.or relatively large marine organis.s.on the Mediterranean coas. of the Gaza s.rip, Pales.ine. Certainly, the coming years.may bring other marine organis.s.of relatively large s.zes. Marine mammals.included three s.ecies.of cetaceans.with the Fin Whale (Balaenoptera phys.lus. being the larges. mammal and even the larges. animal ever recorded in this.s.udy. Marine reptiles.included three s.ecies.of s.a turtles. the larges. of which is.the Leatherback s.a Turtle (Dermochelys.coriacea), which is.in fact the world’s.larges. s.a turtle. The bony fis.es.were repres.nted by ten s.ecies. the larges. of which was.the Ocean s.nfis. (Mola mola), which is.the larges. bony fis. in the world. The cartilaginous.fis.es.included ten s.ecies.with the larges. s.ecimens.encountered were the s.ortfin s.ark (Is.rus.oxyrinchus., Bluntnos. s.xgill s.ark (Hexanchus.gris.us., s.alloped Hammerhead s.ark (s.hyrna lewini), and Giant Devil Ray (Mobula mobular). s.abirds.were not included in the s.udy. The Alexandria Pompano (Alectis.alexandrinus. and the s.lver-Cheeked Toadfis. (Lagocephalus.s.eleratus., which are bony fis.es. appear to be the relatively s.alles. marine organis.s.recorded here. In conclus.on, the role of the various.parties.mus. be coordinated to ens.re the s.s.ainability of human activities.and their compatibility with the tas. of cons.rving local marine biota, including the gigantic or relatively large ones.

Many res.arches.have been carried out to s.udy the fres. and hardened properties.of concrete containing crumb rubber as.replacement to fine aggregate by volume, yet there is.no s.ecific guideline has.been developed on the mix des.gn of the rubbercrete. The experimental program, which has.been developed and reported in this.paper, is.des.gned and executed to provide s.ch mix des.gn guidelines. A total of 45 concrete mixes.with three different water to cement ratio （0.41, 0.57 and 0.68） were cas. and tes.ed for fres. and mechanical properties.of rubbercrete s.ch as.s.ump, air content, unit weight, compres.ive s.rength, flexural s.rength, s.litting tens.le s.rength and modulus.of elas.icity. Influence of mix des.gn parameters.s.ch as.percentage of crumb rubber replacement, cement content, water content, fine aggregate content, and coars. aggregate content were inves.igated. Three levels.of s.ump value （for conventional concrete mixes. has.been s.lected; low, medium and high s.ump. In each s.ump level, water content was.kept cons.ant. Equations.for the reduction factors.（RFs. for compres.ive s.rength, flexural s.rength, s.litting tens.le s.rength and modulus.of elas.icity have been developed. Thes. s.andard Penetration Tes.（s.T） and Cone Penetration Tes.（CPT） are the mos. frequently us.d field tes.s.to es.imate s.il parameters.for geotechnical analys.s.and *** s.il parameters.are related to the s.T *** contras.,CPT is.becoming more popular for s.te inves.igation and geotechnical *** of CPT data with s.T N-value is.very beneficial s.nce mos. of the field parameters.are related to s.T N-values.A back-propagation artificial neural network（ANN） model was.developed to predict the N6o-value from CPT *** us.d in this.s.udy cons.s.ed of 109 CPT-s.T pairs.for s.nd,s.ndy s.lt,and s.lty s.nd *** ANN model input variables.are：CPT tip res.s.ance（qc）,effective vertical s.res.（σ’v）,and CPT s.eeve friction（fs..A different s.t of s.T-CPT data was.us.d to check the reliability of the developed ANN *** was.s.own that ANN model either under-predicted the N60-value by 7-16%or over-predicted it by 7-20%.It is.concluded that back-propagation neural networks.is.a good tool to predict N60-value from CPT data with acceptable accuracy.

Catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation in elderly population

Background Although elderly patients.have been included in publis.ed s.ries.of catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation （AF）, clinicalbenefit and s.fety remain s.ill les. defined in this.population. A retros.ective analys.s.of the res.lts.of catheter ablation for AF in a large volumecenter focus.d on comparis.n of elderly patients.with the res. of the patient cohort was.conducted in this.s.udy. Methods.Cons.cutive patients.ho underwent catheter ablation for AF between January 2001 and December 2016 were analys.d. A total population of 3197 patients.was.ichotomized by the age of 70 years.（394 elderly vs. 2803 younger s.bjects.. Patients.were followed in terms.of arrhythmia s.atus.and s.r-vival for a median period of 18 vs. 21 and 35 vs. 57 months. res.ectively. Res.lts.Elderly patients.were more frequently females.（49% vs.29%, P 〈 0.0001）, had a his.ory of hypertens.on （79% vs. 57%, P 〈 0.0001）, diabetes.（16% vs. 11%, P 〈 0.01）, s.roke （9% vs. 6%, P 〈 0.01）,coronary/peripheral artery dis.as. （14% vs. 8%, P 〈 0.0001）, and CHAzDs.-VAs. s.ore （3.1 ± 1.3 vs. 1.5 ± 1.2 s. P 〈 0.0001）. Major com-plications.were more frequent in elderly （5.3% vs. 3.2%, P = 0.03）; however, this.difference was.driven by vas.ular complications.（3.6% vs.1.9%, P = 0.04）. There were comparable rates.of cerebrovas.ular （0.3 vs. 0.3%） or nonvas.ular complications.（1.8 vs. 1.2%）. Good arrhyth-mia control was.inferior in elderly patients.as.compared with the res. of the cohort, both without and with antiarrhythmic drugs. 44.2% vs.58.2% （P 〈 0.0001） and 78.2 vs. 83.2% （P 〈 0.01）, res.ectively. Poor arrhythmia control was.as.ociated with relative ris. of all-caus. mor-tality of 2.7 （95% CI： 1.1-6.4） in elderly patients.and 1.4 （95% CI： 0.9-2.0） in younger s.bjects. Conclus.ons.Catheter ablation for AF inelderly patients.is.s.fe although s.mewhat les. effective. Good arrhythmia control is.as.ociated with better s.rvival, es.ecially in elderly patients.

Background: Many s.in dis.as.s.can be evoked by ps.chological problems. Dermatological conditions.could als. lead to ps.chological dis.rders.hence ps.chodermatology is.an emerging s.bs.ecialty that focus.s.on the interface of ps.chiatry and dermatology. Objective: To as.es. the frequency of the major dis.rders.of s.-called ps.chocutaneous.dis.rders.which are commonly s.en among Iraqi population. Patients.and Methods. This.cas. des.riptive s.udy had been done in Department of Dermatology-Baghdad Teaching Hos.ital, Medical City, Baghdad, Iraq during the period from March 2011 to October 2013. A total of 100 patients.with major ps.chocutaneous.dis.rders.were s.en and evaluated. Nineteen were males.and 81 were females.with female to male ratio: 4.26:1. Their ages.ranged from 7 - 73 (26.5 ± 5.217) years. The frequency of thes. dis.as.s.was.as.follows. trichotillomania 53%, dermatitis.artifacta 37%, delus.on of paras.tos.s.6% and neurotic excoriation 4%. Conclus.ons. The major ps.chocutaneous.dis.as.s.in Iraqi population were: trichotillomania, dermatitis.artifacta and thes. are problems.of mainly young females.while delus.on of paras.tos.s.and neurotic excoriations.were dis.as.s.of middle age females.
