The purpose of this research is to explore how the design of buildings and spaces affects our *** study examines how our visual surroundings and emotional responses are *** hypothesis is that people’s emotions are influenced by what they see in the buildings,spaces,and furniture around *** personality type may have a unique emotional response to their *** study has three main goals:to analyze the built environment,to assess psychological well-being,and to conduct neuroscience *** built environment analysis is divided into two groups:architecture design analysis and street view design *** psychological well-being analysis identifies three key *** neuroscience analysis shows that rectangular shapes combined with linear ornamentation and calming colors create the most comforting building *** most comfortable street view includes an abundance of greenery with sun-shading *** conclusion,the study confirms that architecture affects our *** factors that contribute to our comfort are stored in our mind and body over *** mood and emotional state are influenced by what we see in our *** questionnaire and experiment results support these conclusions.

Flamelet Generated Manifold(FGM)is an example of a chemistry tabulation or a flamelet method that is under attention because of its accuracy and speed in predicting combustion ***,the main problem in applying the model is a large amount of memory *** way to solve this problem is to apply machine learning(ML)to replace the stored tabulated *** different machine learning methods,including two Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs),a Random Forest(RF),and a Gradient Boosted Trees(GBT),are trained,validated,and compared in terms of various performance *** progress variable source term and transport properties are replaced with the ML *** attention was paid to the progress variable source term due to its high gradient and wide range of its value in the control variables *** preprocessing is shown to play an essential role in improving the performance of the *** ensemble models,namely RF and GBT,exhibit high training efficiency and acceptable *** the other hand,the ANN models have lower training errors and take longer to *** four models are then combined with a one-dimensional combustion code to simulate a counterflow non-premixed diffusion flame in engine-relevant *** predictions of the ML-FGM models are compared with detailed chemical simulations and the original FGM model for key combustion properties and representative species profiles.

Graphene has been recognized as a promising 2D material with many new properties. However, pristine graphene is gapless which hinders its direct application towards graphene-based semiconducting devices. Recently, various ways have been proposed to overcome this problem. In this study, we report a robust method to open a gap in graphene via noncovalent functionalization with porphyrin molecules. Two type of porphyrins, namely, iron protoporphyrin (FePP) and zinc protoporphryin (ZnPP) were independently physisorbed on graphene grown on nickel by chemical vapour deposition (CVD) resulting in a bandgap opening in graphene. Using a statistical analysis of scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) measurements, we demonstrated that the magnitude of the band gap depends on the type of deposited porphyrin *** π-π stacking of FePP on graphene yielded a considerably larger band gap value (0.45 eV) than physisorbed ZnPP (0.23 eV). We proposed that the origin of different band gap value is governed due to the metallic character of the respective porphyrin.

Organic matter in the environment is involved in many biogeochemical processes,including the mobilization of geogenic trace elements,such as arsenic,into *** this paper we present the use of fluorescence spectroscopy to characterize the dissolved organic matter (DOM) pool in heavily arsenicaffected groundwaters in Kandal Province,*** fluorescence DOM (fDOM) characteristics between contrasting field areas of differing dominant lithologies were compared and linked to other hydrogeochemical parameters,including arsenic and dissolved methane as well as selected sedimentary ***-corrected fluorescence indices were used to characterize depth profiles and compare field *** fDOM was generally dominated by terrestrial humic and fulvic-like components,with relatively small contributions from microbially-derived,tryptophan-like *** fDOM from sand-dominated sequences typically contained lower tryptophan-like,lower fulvic-like and lower humic-like components,was less bioavailable,and had higher humification index than clay-dominated *** concentrations were strongly correlated with fDOM bioavailability as well as with tryptophan-like components,suggesting that groundwater methane in these arsenic-prone aquifers is likely of biogenic origin.A comparison of fDOM tracers with sedimentary OM tracers is consistent with the hypothesis that external,surface-derived contributions to the aqueous DOM pool are an important control on groundwater hydrogeochemistry.

Although two-party password-authenticated key exchange （PAKE） protocols have been intensively studied in recent years, group PAKE protocols have received little attention. In this paper, we propose a tree-based group PAKE protocol - nPAKE^＋ protocol under the setting where each party shares an independent password with a trusted server. The nPAKE^＋ protocol is a novel combination of the hierarchical key tree structure and the password-based Diffie-Hellman exchange, and hence it achieves substantial gain in computation efficiency. In particular, the computation cost for each client in our protocol is only O（log n）. Additionally, the hierarchical feature of nPAKE^＋ enables every subgroup to obtain its own subgroup key in the end. We also prove the security of our protocol under the random oracle model and the ideal cipher model.

水力机械内的水压力脉动常常导致叶片的疲劳破坏及共振,为了研究叶片旋转交互作用引起的流体诱导水压力,基于CFD计算和模型试验开展导叶式喷水推进混流泵叶片交互作用径向力研究.建立了一个闭式的混流泵试验循环系统,在叶轮和泵轴内内置同步旋转测力计测量叶轮上的瞬时力和转矩.通过大量的标定确定试验轴系的动态特性.采用Fluent软件进行非定常数值模拟,并将模拟结果与试验结果进行了比较,分析了产生偏差的原因.结果表明:叶片旋转经过时的轴上径向作用力的频率与工况有关,同时叶片激发的径向力导致叶轮有与轴旋转方向相反旋转的趋势;计算的推进泵外特性与试验吻合较好,同时叶片交互作用径向力的量级也有较好的吻合度;从小流量到大流量工况,计算结果的变化趋势与试验结果一致.

The manta ray(Manta birostris)is the largest species of rays that demonstrates excellent swimming capabilities via large-amplitude flapping of its pectoral *** this article,we present a bio-inspired robotic manta ray using ionic polymer–metal composite(IPMC)as artificial muscles to mimic the swimming behavior of the manta *** robot utilizes two artificial pectoral fins to generate undulatory flapping motions,which produce thrust for the *** pectoral fin consists of an IPMC muscle in the leading edge and a passive polydimethylsiloxane membrane in the trailing *** the IPMC is actuated,the passive polydimethylsiloxane membrane follows the bending of the leading edge with a phase delay,which leads to an undulatory flapping motion on the *** of the pectoral fin has shown that the fin can generate flapping motions with up to 100%tip deflection and 40◦twist *** test the free-swimming performance of the robot,a light and compact on-board control unit with a lithium ion polymer battery has been *** experimental results have shown that the robot can swim at 0.067 BL/s with portable power consumption of under 2.5 W.
