Ménière’s disease(md)patients may suffer episodes of sudden falls,named Tu markin drop attacks(DAs).This fall occurs abruptly and without warning or loss of *** usually aggravate the clinical picture of md and are challenging to *** present report describes a case treated by cochlear implantation(CI)due to concomitant deafness and offers some clinical considerations for this condition.A male patient aged 48 years with a 10-year history of definite bilateral md had profound SNHL on the right and severe SNHL on the left *** suffered from intermittent attacks of vertigo,ear fullness,and tinnitus and,in the last year,had developed DAs and experienced 14 episodes in the previous six *** preoperative category of acoustic performance was *** Dizziness Handicap Inventory(DHI)questionnaire showed a total score of 46,which indicated a moderate degree of disability.A CI was planned for the right *** patient did not report any further DAs episode for two years since *** postoperative category of acoustic performance became 11,and the postoperative DHI questionnaire showed a decrease in the total score(from 46 to 19),which indicated a mild *** CI effectively alleviated the DAs associated with bilateral *** report proposes a new modality for managing vertiginous symptoms in cases of md with hearing loss without the need for more aggressive surgical interventions with the need for clinical trials to confirm our results.

Amyloid peptide fibrillogenesis induced by Cu（II） ions is a key event in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer＇s disease. Dendrimers have been found to be active in preventing fibril formation. Therefore, they hold promise for the treatment of Alzheimer＇s disease. In this study, the fibrillation mechanism of amyloid peptide Aβ 1-40 was studied by adding Cu（II） in the absence and presence of 4th generation poly（propyleneimine） glycodendrimer functionalized with sulfate groups, using dynamic light scattering （DLS）, circular dichroism （CD）, fluorescence, electron paramagnetic resonance （EPR） and molecular modeling （md）. The glycodendrimer was non-toxic to mHippoE-18 embryonic mouse hippocampal cells, selected as a nerve cell model and decreased the toxicity of peptide aggregates formed after the addition of Cu（II）. The binary systems of Cu（II）-glycodendrimer, Cu（II）-peptide, and glycodendrimer-peptide were first characterized. At the lowest Cu（II）/glycodendrimer molar ratios, Cu（II） was complexed by the internal-dendrimer nitrogen sites. After saturation of these sites, Cu（II） binding with sulfate groups occurred. Stable Cu（II）-peptide complexes formed within 5 min and were responsible for a transition from an α helix to a β-sheet conformation of Aβ 1-40. Glycodendrimer-peptide interactions provoked the stabilization of the a-helix, as demonstrated in the absence of Cu（II） by the Thioflavin T assay, and in the presence of Cu（II） by CD, EPR, and md. Formation of fibrils is differentially modulated by glycodendrimer and Cu（II） concentrations for a fixed amount of Aβ 1-40. Therefore, this multidisciplinary study facilitated the recognition of optimal experimental conditions that allow the glycodendrimer to avoid the fibril formation induced by Cu（II）.

In this work,polymeric and bioactive glass(BG)-modified composite films were successfully loaded with polyphenols(PPh)extracted from *** was hypothesized that PPh,alone and in combination with BGs particles,would affect physicochemical and biological properties of the ***,sol-gel-derived BG particles would serve as an agent for control the release of the polyphenolic compounds,and other important properties related to the presence of *** results showed that polyphenolic compounds significantly modified numerous material properties and also acted as biologically active *** the one hand,PPh can be considered as plasticizers for PCL,on the other hand,they can act as coupling agent in composite materials,improving their mechanical *** presence of PPh in materials improved their hydrophilicity and apatite-forming ability,and also provided antioxidant *** is important is that the aforementioned properties and kinetics of PPh release can be modulated by the use of various concentrations of PPh,and by the modification of PCL matrix with sol-gel-derived BG particles,capable of binding *** films containing the lowest concentration of PPh exhibited cytocompatibility,significantly increased alkaline phosphatase activity and the expression of bone extracellular matrix proteins(osteocalcin and osteopontin)in human normal osteoblasts,while they reduced intracellular reactive oxygen species production in ***,materials loaded with PPh showed antibiofilm properties against Gram positive and Gram negative *** results suggest that obtained materials represent potential multifunctional biomaterials for bone tissue engineering with a wide range of tunable properties.

背景局部创伤性脑损伤大鼠过度通气4小时对其神经认知行为、运动功能、协调能力和病损大小的远期影响。方法对大鼠进行为期14天的神经认知行为学训练，包括孔板实验、木梁行走实验、木梁平衡实验。21只SD大鼠（369±15g），氟烷麻醉后气管插管，机械通气，行控制性皮质撞击损伤（深1．75mm，直径5mm，速度4m／s）。将大鼠随机分入正常通气组（n=10；Paco2=38-42mmHg）和过度通气组（n=11；Paco2=28-32mmHg），机械通气4小时。创伤后持续检测大鼠的行为学和运动能h20天。随后，将大鼠在深麻醉下断头取脑，冰冻脑组织，切片，评估病损大小。结果过度通气组与正常通气组相比外显记忆受损严重。两组大鼠在损伤初期的运动功能和协调能力的测试（木梁行走和木梁平衡实验）中表现均有欠缺，过度通气组更为严重。但是，在实验结束时，两组并无明显差异。创伤后第20天，过度通气组大鼠测得的病损大小（69．7±13．0mm^3）明显大于正常通气组（48．3±15．6mm^3）。结论创伤性脑损伤后过度通气4／1,时（Paco2=28-32mmHg）虽然增加了组织学损伤，但并没有对大鼠远期的神经认知功能造成不良影响。

背景局麻药（10calanesthetics，LAs）的心肌毒性与其亲脂性有显著的相关性。近来的临床报道发现输注脂肪乳剂是治疗局麻药引起的心跳骤停的一种好方法。人们假设其作用机制是“脂肪库”（1ipidsink）效应，该效应的强度可能取决于局麻药的亲脂性。本研究探讨是否脂肪效应与所使用的局麻药有关。方法用等效剂量的布比卡因、罗哌卡因和甲哌卡因使离体鼠心脏骤停，之后给予或不给予心脏灌注脂肪乳剂（0．25ml·k^-1·min^-1）进行复苏。监测指标包括从开始输注脂肪乳剂到心肌活动出现的时间、心率恢复的时间和心率一压力乘积恢复到基础值90％的时间。结果输注脂肪乳剂对各组的心肌活动恢复时间均没有作用。但是，输注脂肪乳剂可以显著缩短布比卡因组中心率恢复时间和心率-压力乘积恢复到基础值90％的时间，而在罗哌卡因和甲哌卡因组中却没有这个结果。结论以上的数据表明脂肪乳剂解救局麻药引起的心跳骤停的效果取决于不同的局麻药。我们认为局麻药的亲脂性对使用脂肪乳剂治疗因局麻药引起的心跳骤停的效果有显著影响。

T-helper （Th） lineages have been generated in vitro by activating CD4 cells with anti-CD3/CD28 antibodies during polarization. Physiologically, however, the generation of Th lineages is by activation with the specific antigen presented by antigen-presenting cells （APC）. Here, we used T-cell receptor （TCR）-transgenic mice to compare the phenotypes of Thl, Th9 and Th17 lineages when generated by either one of the two activation modes. Lineage Th cells specific against hen egg lysozyme （HEL）, were adoptively transferred into recipient mice transgenically expressing HEL in their lens. Remarkable differences were found between lineages of Th 1, Th9 or Th 17, generated by either one of the two modes in their capacities to migrate to and proliferate in the recipient spleen and, importantly, to induce inflammation in the recipient mouse eyes. Substantial differences were also observed between the lineage pairs in their transcript expression profiles of certain chemokines and chemokine receptors. Surprisingly, however, close similarities were observed between the transcript expression profiles of lineages of the three phenotypes, activated by the same mode. Furthermore, Th cell lineages generated by the two activation modes differed considerably in their pattern of gene expression, as monitored by microarray analysis, but exhibited commonality with lineages of other phenotypes generated by the same activation mode. This study thus shows that （i） Th lineages generated by activation with anti-CD3/CD28 antibodies differ from lineages generated by antigen/APC; and （ii） the mode of activation determines to a large extent the expression profile of major transcripts.
