lithium metal batteries(LMBs) are ideal candidates for next-generation high energy density energy storage systems.However,uncontrollable growth of li dendrites due to uneven li plating has restricted the practical application of the li metal anode.Here,we develop a highly lithiophilic Zn coating on commercial Cu foil as a substrate for li metal anode to settle above issues.We find that the lithiophilic nature of Zn can facilitate homogeneous nucleation and deposition of li on Cu current collector surface.In addition,the uniform Zn coating can not only decrease the nucleation overpotential but also regulate the electric field distribution.Benefiting from the coated Zn layer,the designed anode for half-cell and full-cell tests shows better electrochemical performances compared with the untreated Cu foil.This work provides a simple and effective way to enable a promising dendrite-free lithium metal anode for large-scale industrial applications.

Previous studies have demonstrated a bidirectional relationship between inflammation and depression.Activation of the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain,leucine-rich repeat,and NLR family pyrin domain-containing 3(NLRP3)inflammasomes is closely related to the pathogenesis of various neurological diseases.In patients with major depressive disorder,NLRP3 inflammasome levels are significantly elevated.Understanding the role that NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated neuroinflammation plays in the pathogenesis of depression may be beneficial for future therapeutic strategies.In this review,we aimed to elucidate the mechanisms that lead to the activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome in depression as well as to provide insight into therapeutic strategies that target the NLRP3 inflammasome.Moreover,we outlined various therapeutic strategies that target the NLRP3 inflammasome,including NLRP3 inflammatory pathway inhibitors,natural compounds,and other therapeutic compounds that have been shown to be effective in treating depression.Additionally,we summarized the application of NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitors in clinical trials related to depression.Currently,there is a scarcity of clinical trials dedicated to investigating the applications of NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitors in depression treatment.The modulation of NLRP3 inflammasomes in microglia holds promise for the management of depression.Further investigations are necessary to ascertain the efficacy and safety of these therapeutic approaches as potential novel antidepressant treatments.

Alumina–spinel refractories used in slit-type purging plugs are susceptible to cross-sectional damage,resulting in a serious mismatch between their service life and that of ladle.Alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractories have gradually become the new trend in purging plug materials with the development of refining technology.The thermomechanical damage of slit-type purging plugs with alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractory was investigated by the thermo-solid coupling simulation.Combined with the polynomial fitting and design of experiments methods,the influence of thermophysical parameters on temperature and thermal stress of alumina–calcium hexaluminate refractories for purging plugs was systematically analyzed.The results show that the maximum thermal stress of the purging plugs appears during the stages of steel transporting and stirring,and the vulnerable parts are located above Y=0.323 m.The thermal conductivity and the coefficient of thermal expansion of the material are the most sensitive parameters to the temperature and thermal stress inside the structure,respectively.The addition of more calcium hexaluminate can relieve the stress concentration and large deformation around the slits.Consequently,when the content of calcium hexaluminate is 47 wt.%and in the form of aggregate-binder,the temperature and thermal stress distribution inside the refractory are optimal,which can effectively improve the service life of the slit-type purging plug.

Achievement of lithium(li)metal anode with thin thickness(e.g.,≤30µm)is highly desirable for rechargeable high energy density batteries.However,the fabrication and application of such thin li metal foil electrode remain challenging due to the poor mechanical processibility and inferior electrochemical performance of metallic li.Here,mechanico-chemical synthesis of robust ultrathin li/li_(3)P(LLP)composite foils(~15µm)is demonstrated by employing repeated mechanical rolling/stacking operations using red P and metallic li as raw materials.The in-situ formed li+-conductive li_(3)P nanoparticles in metallic li matrix and their tight bonding strengthen the mechanical durability and enable the successful fabrication of free-standing ultrathin li metal composite foil.Besides,it also reduces the electrochemical li nucleation barrier and homogenizes li plating/stripping behavior.When matching to high-voltage liCoO_(2),the full cell with a low negative/positive(N/P)capacity ratio of~1.5 offers a high energy density of~522 W·h·kg^(-1) at 0.5 C based on the mass of cathode and anode.Taking into account its facile manufacturing,potentially low cost,and good electrochemical performance,we believe that such an ultrathin composite li metal foil design with nanoparticle-dispersion-strengthened mechanism may boost the development of high energy density li metal batteries.

Metabolically healthy obesity refers to obese individuals who do not develop metabolic disorders.These people store fat in subcutaneous adipose tissue(SAT)rather than in visceral adipose tissue(VAT).However,the molecules participating in this specific scenario remain elusive.Rab18,a lipid droplet(LD)-associated protein,mediates the contact between the endoplasmic reticulum(ER)and LDs to facilitate LD growth and maturation.In the present study,we show that the protein level of Rab18 is specifically upregulated in the SAT of obese people and mice.Rab18 adipocyte-specific knockout(Rab18 AKO)mice had a decreased volume ratio of SAT to VAT compared with wildtype mice.When subjected to high-fat diet(HFD),Rab18 AKO mice had increased ER stress and inflammation,reduced adiponectin,and decreased triacylglycerol(TAG)accumulation in SAT.In contrast,TAG accumulation in VAT,brown adipose tissue(BAT)or liver of Rab18AKO mice had a moderate increase without ER stress stimulation.Rab18 AKO mice developed insulin resistance and systematic inflammation.Rab18 AKO mice maintained body temperature in response to acute and chronic cold induction with a thermogenic SAT,similar to the counterpart mice.Furthermore,Rab18-deficient 3T3-L1 adipocytes were more prone to palmitate-induced ER stress,indicating the involvement of Rab18 in alleviating lipid toxicity.Rab18 AKO mice provide a good animal model to investigate metabolic disorders such as impaired SAT.In conclusion,our studies reveal that Rab18 is a key and specific regulator that maintains the proper functions of SAT by alleviating lipid-induced ER stress.

Using the Skyrme density functional theory,potential energy surfaces of^(240)Pu with constraints on the axial quadrupole and octupole deformations(q_(20)and q_(30))were calculated.The volume-like and surface-like pairing forces,as well as a combination of these two forces,were used for the Hartree–Fock–Bogoliubov approximation.Variations in the least-energy fission path,fission barrier,pairing energy,total kinetic energy,scission line,and mass distribution of the fission fragments based on the different forms of the pairing forces were analyzed and discussed.The fission dynamics were studied based on the timedependent generator coordinate method plus the Gaussian overlap approximation.The results demonstrated a sensitivity of the mass and charge distributions of the fission fragments on the form of the pairing force.Based on the investigation of the neutron-induced fission of^(239)Pu,among the volume,mixed,and surface pairing forces,the mixed pairing force presented a good reproduction of the experimental data.

BACKGROUND Laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery increases the risk of incisional hernia(IH)at the tumor extraction site.AIM To investigate the incidence of IH at extraction sites following laparoscopic colo-rectal cancer surgery and identify the risk factors for IH incidence.METHODS This study retrospectively analyzed the data of 1614 patients who underwent la-paroscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery with tumor extraction through the abdominal wall at our center between January 2017 and December 2022.Diffe-rences in the incidence of postoperative IH at different extraction sites and the risk factors for IH incidence were investigated.RESULTS Among the 1614 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery,303(18.8%),923(57.2%),171(10.6%),and 217(13.4%)tumors were ex-tracted through supraumbilical midline,infraumbilical midline,umbilical,and off-midline incisions.Of these,52 patients developed IH in the abdominal wall,with an incidence of 3.2%.The incidence of postoperative IH was significantly higher in the off-midline incision group(8.8%)than in the middle incision groups[the supraumbilical midline(2.6%),infraumbilical midline(2.2%),and umbilical incision(2.9%)groups](χ^(2)=24.985;Pline incision,age,sex(female),obesity,incision infection,combined chronic cough,and hypoproteinemia were independent risk factors for IH at the site of laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery(Plical midline incision is associated with a lower hernia rate and is thus a suitable tumor extraction site.

Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is a chronic autoimmune disease in which multiple organs are damaged that prevails in fertile women.Currently,glucocorticoids and immunosuppressants are widely used to treat SLE patients.However,ovarian dysfunction occurs following the use of these drugs in women with SLE.Here,we summarize recent progress in terms of understanding ovarian injury,the effects of drug application and strategies to improve ovarian function in women with SLE.This review could be helpful to precisely cure SLE in women desiring to have offspring.
