GJB2.gene mutations are the most common causes of autosomal recessive non-syndromic hereditary *** individuals suffering from severe to profound GJB2.related deafness,cochlear implants have emerged as the sole remedy for auditory *** previous studies have highlighted the crucial role of preserving cochlear neural components in achieving favorable outcomes after cochlear ***,we generated a conditional knockout mouse model(Cx2.-CKO)in which Cx2. was completely deleted in the cochlear supporting cells driven by the Sox2.*** Cx2.-CKO mice showed severe hearing loss and massive loss of hair cells and Deiter’s cells,which represented the extreme form of human deafness caused by GJB2.gene *** addition,multiple pathological changes in the peripheral auditory nervous system were found,including abnormal innervation,demyelination,and degeneration of spiral ganglion neurons as well as disruption of heminodes in Cx2.-CKO *** findings provide invaluable insights into the deafness mechanism and the treatment for severe deafness in Cx2.-null mice.

High-temperature oxidation behavior of ferrovanadium(FeV_(2.O_(4))and ferrochrome(FeCr_(2.O_(4))spinels is crucial for the application of spinel as an energy material,as well as for the clean usage of high-chromium vanadium ***,the nonisothermal oxidation behavior of FeV_(2.O_(4)and FeCr_(2.O_(4)prepared by high-temperature solid-state reaction was examined by thermogravimetry and X-ray diffraction(XRD)at heating rates of 5,10,and 15 K/*** apparent activation energy was determined by the Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose(KAS)method,whereas the mechanism function was elucidated by the Malek ***,in-situ XRD was conducted to deduce the phase transformation of the oxidation mechanism for FeV_(2.O_(4)and FeCr_(2.O_(4).The results reveal a gradual increase in the overall apparent activation energies for FeV_(2.O_(4)and FeCr_(2.O_(4)during *** stages of the oxidation process are observed based on the oxidation conversion rate of each *** oxidation mechanisms of FeV_(2.O_(4)and FeCr_(2.O_(4)are complex and have distinct *** particular,the chemical reaction controls the entire oxidation process for FeV_(2.O_(4),whereas that for FeCr_(2.O_(4)transitions from a three-dimensional diffusion model to a chemical reaction *** to the in-situ XRD results,numerous intermediate products are observed during the oxidation process of both compounds,eventually resulting in the final products FeVO_(4)and V2._(5)for FeV_(2.O_(4)and Fe_(2.O_(3)and Cr_(2.O_(3)for FeCr_(2.O_(4),respectively.

Formaldehyde is a common atmospheric pollutant produced in industrial production and daily ***,the traditional semiconductor formaldehyde gas sensor cannot work at room temperature,which limits its practical ***,developing high-performance gas sensors for rapidly and accurately detecting formaldehyde at room temperature is an important *** this study,Ti_(3)C_(2.Tx/SnO_(2.heterostructures were constructed,which could selectively detect formaldehyde at room temperature with a response value of 2..16%(10×10^(-6)).In addition,the sensor shows a remarkable theoretical detection limit of 5.09×10^(-9)and good longterm *** functional theory(DFT)simulations reveal that SnO_(2.nano spheres provide the majority of adsorption sites that strongly interact with ***,Ti_(3)C_(2.T_(x)acting as a conductive layer facilitates the transfer of charge carriers so that they show a sensing response to formaldehyde at room ***,the formation of p-n heterostructures between SnO_(2.and Ti_(3)C_(2.T_(x)boosts the Schottky barrier at the interface,which is the critical factor in enhancing the sensing properties by turning the Schottky barrier upon introducing formaldehyde *** perspective is expected to provide instructive guidance for utilizing MXene/metal oxide nanocomposites to improve the gas sensing performance at room temperature.

Some studies have shown that native Chinese speakers have different laterality in matched Stroop tasks from native English ***,many imaging data,which show left laterality of English-matched Stroop interference,have been *** a few functional imaging studies have been conducted to investigate the phenomenon of the Chinese version of Stroop *** this study,functional activity in the lateral prefrontal cortex of a group of normal Chinese boys with functional near-infrared imaging during a Stroop color-word task was measured to show different Stroop interferences in the prefrontal *** results show obvious fluctuation of the cerebral blood volume in the right prefrontal cortex in all boys,which agrees with the finding of previous studies,that is,Chinese native boys have right laterality in their brain when the Chinese version of Stroop color-word task is applied.

Different from rivers in humid areas,the variability of riverine CO_(2. system in arid areas is heavily impacted by anthropogenic disturbance with the increasing urbanization and water *** this study,the water chemistry and the controls of carbonate system in an urbanized river(the Fenhe River)on the semi-arid Loess Plateau were *** water chemistry of the river water showed that the high dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC)concentration(about 37 mg L^(-1))in the upstream with a karst land type was mainly sourced from carbonate weathering involved by H_(2.CO_(3) and H_(2.SO_(4),resulting in an oversaturated partial pressure of CO_(2.(pCO_(2.)(about 800μatm).In comparison,damming resulted in the widespread appearance of non-free flowing river segments,and aquatic photosynthesis dominated the DIC and pCO_(2. spatiality demonstrated by the enriched stable isotope of DIC(δ^(13)CDIC).Especially in the mid-downstream flowing through major cities in warm and low-runoff August,some river segments even acted as an atmospheric CO_(2. *** noteworthy is wastewater input leading to a sudden increase in DIC(>55 mg L^(-1))and pCO_(2.(>4500μatm)in the downstream of Taiyuan City,and in cold November the increased DIC even extended to the outlet of the *** results highlight the effects of aquatic production induced by damming and urban sewage input on riverine CO_(2. system in semi-arid areas,and reducing sewage discharge may mitigate CO_(2. emission from the rivers.

BACKGROUND The association of different body components,including lean mass and body fat,with the risk of death in acute coronary syndrome(ACS)patients are *** We enrolled adults diagnosed with ACS at our center between January 2.11 and December 2.12.and obtained fol-low-up outcomes via telephone *** used restricted cubic splines(RCS)with the Cox proportional hazards model to analyze the associations between body mass index(BMI),predicted lean mass index(LMI),predicted body fat percentage(BF),and the value of LMI/BF with 10-year *** also examined the secondary outcome of death during *** During the maximum 10-year follow-up of 1398 patients,331 deaths(2..6%)occurred,and a U-shaped relationship was found between BMI and death risk(P_(nonlinearity)=0.03).After adjusting for age and history of diabetes,the overweight group(2.≤BMI2. kg/m^(2.)had the lowest mortality(HR=0.53,95%CI:0.2.-0.99).Predicted LMI and LMI/BF had an inverse linear relationship with a 10-year death risk(P_(nonlinearity)=0.2. and P_(nonlinearity)=0.38,respectively),while an increase in BF was associ-ated with increased mortality(P_(nonlinearity)=0.64).During hospitalization,31 deaths(2.2.)were recorded,and the associations of the indicators with in-hospital mortality were consistent with the long-term outcome *** Our study provides new insight into the“obesity paradox”in ACS patients,highlighting the importance of considering body composition *** LMI and BF may serve as useful tools for assessing nutritional status and predicting the prognosis of ACS,based on their linear associations with all-cause mortality.
