Thoracic spine infection caused by Pseudomonas fluorescens:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND The clinical incidence of spinal infection is gradually increasing,and its onset is insidious,easily leading to missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis,which may lead to serious complications such as nervous system dysfunction,spinal instability and/or deformity,and cause a huge burden on society and *** identification of the causative agent and precision medicine will greatly reduce the suffering of *** present,the main pathogenic bacteria that cause spinal infection are Staphylococcus aureus,Streptococcus,Pneumococcus,Escherichia coli,and *** are no reports of spinal infection caused by Pseudomonas *** SUMMARY We report a 32-year-old female patient with spinal *** presented with flank pain,initially thought to be bone metastases or bone tuberculosis,and had a family background of *** clinical features and changes in imaging and laboratory tests led to the suspicion of thoracic spine *** of the lesion showed inflammation,tissue culture of the lesion was negative several times,and the possible pathogen-Pseudomonas fluorescens was found after gene sequencing of the *** patient recovered completely after a full course of antibiotic *** This report increases the range of pathogens involved in spinal infections,highlights the unique advantages of gene sequencing technology in difficult-todiagnose diseases,and validates conservative treatment with a full course of antibiotics for spinal infections without complications.

Electrical conductivity of melts: implications for conductivity anomalies in the Earth's mantle

Magmatic liquids,including silicate and carbonate melts,are principal agents of mass and heat transfer in the Earth and terrestrial planets,and they play a crucial role in various geodynamic processes and in Earth’s *** conductivity data of these melts elucidate the cause of electrical anomalies in Earth’s interior and shed light on the melt *** the improvement in high-pressure experimental techniques and theoretical simulations,major progress has been made on this front in the past several *** review aims to summarize recent advances in experimental and theoretical studies on the electrical conductivity of silicate and carbonate melts of different compositions and volatile contents under high temperature and *** electrical conductivity of silicate melts depends strongly on temperature,pressure,water content and the ratio of non-bridging oxygens to tetrahedral cations(NBO/T).By contrast,the electrical conductivity of carbonate melts exhibits a weak dependence on temperature and pressure due to their fully depolymerized *** electrical conductivity of carbonate melts is higher than that of silicate melts by at least two orders of *** can increase electrical conductivity significantly and reduce the activation energy of silicate ***,this effect is weak for carbonate *** addition,the replacement of alkali-earth elements(Ca2+or Mg2+) with alkali elements causes a significant decrease in the electrical conductivity of carbonate melts.A distinct compensation trend is revealed for the electrical conductivity of silicate and carbonate melts under anhydrous and hydrous *** important applications of laboratory-based melt conductivity are introduced in order to understand the origin of high-conductivity anomalies in the Earth’s *** for future studies are also provided.

In this paper, we take naturally occurring 2-benzylidenebenzofuran-3-ones （aurones） inhibitors of hepatitis C virus （HCV） RNA-dependent RNA polymerase （RdRp） as an example to study the Multi-dimensional scaling （MDS） method for structure-activity relationship. By analyzing training set molecules, our MDS method combined with a PROXSCAL algorithm can predict inhibitory activity of most compounds correctly. Thus, a new sample＇s activity can be estimated and judged conveniently, and whether it should be synthesized can be known. The MDS method is applicable to optimize the structure for a compound and to provide suggestions for drug design.

The real-time monitoring of the weld pool during deposition is important for automatic control in plasma arc additive *** obtain a high deposition accuracy,it is essential to maintain a stable weld pool *** this study,a novel passive visual method is proposed to measure the weld pool *** the proposed method,the image quality was improved by designing a special visual system that employed an endoscope and a *** also includes pixel brightness-based and gradient-based algorithms that can adaptively detect feature points at the boundary when the weld pool geometry *** algorithm can also be applied to materials with different solidification *** was performed to measure the real weld pool length in world coordinates,and outlier rejection was performed to increase the accuracy of the ***,tests were carried out on the intersection component,and the results showed that the proposed method performed well in tracking the changing weld pool length and was applicable to the real-time monitoring of different types of materials.

Background:Transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)and percutaneous microwave coagulation therapy(PMCT)are commonly used to treat intrahepatic recurrent liver ***,there is no informa-tion regarding their effectiveness in patients with recurrent intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC)after ***:A total of 275 patients with localized recurrent ICC who received either TACE(n=183)or PMCT(n=92)were studied.A propensity score matching analysis was performed to compare prognostic impact of TACE and *** factors for TACE and PMCT were identified *** nomograms for each TACE and PMCT were developed using the Cox independent prognostic factors and were validated in independent patient groups by receiver operating characteristic curves and area under curve ***:Both TACE and PMCT provided curativeness in partial patients(5-year overall survival:21.4%and 6.1%,respectively),but TACE provided better survival benefit in both overall patients(hazard ratio[HR]=0.71;95%confidence interval[CI]:0.50–0.97;P=0.034)and propensity score matching analysis(HR=0.69;95%CI:0.47–0.98;P=0.041).Independent prognostic factors for TACE were tumor size>5 cm,poor differentiation,and major resection,whereas poor differentiation,hepatitis B virus infection,cholelithiasis,and lymph node metastasis were identified for *** predictive nomograms for TACE and PMCT were validated to be effective with area under curve values of 0.77 and 0.70,***:TACE provided better survival benefits compared to ***,there was a disparity in prognostic factors,suggesting evaluation of the two nomograms may be supportive in modality *** prospective validation studies are required for the results to be applied in clinical medicine.

Wolbachia-induced expression of kenny gene in testes affects male fertility in Drosophila melanogaster

Laser cladding of high-entropy alloy on H13 steel

High-entropy alloy layer up to 150 lm in thickness was formed on H13 substrate with a metallurgical bonding at the coating/substrate interface. Simple solid solution phases were formed in the coating layer with a typical microstructure composed of both dendrite and interdendrite. The microstructure at the top of the cladding zone consists of equiaxed grains while that at the bottom consists of columnar grains. The coating layer exhibits great enhancement in microhardness and wear resistance compared with the H13 substrate.

Objective Numerous schizophrenic patients are suffering from obesity primarily attributed to antipsychotic medication and poor dietary *** study investigated the progressive deterioration of olanzapine-induced metabolic disorders in the presence of a high-fat diet(HFD)and explored the involvement of endoplasmic reticulum(ER)*** Female Sprague-Dawley rats fed on a standard chow diet or HFD were treated with olanzapine(3 mg/kg/day)and the ER stress inhibitor 4-phenylbutyric acid(4-PBA,1 and 0.5 g/kg/day)for 8 *** in body weight,food intake,and plasma lipids were *** fat accumulation was evaluated using oil red O *** blotting and immunofluorescence assays were employed to examine the expression of ER stress markers,NOD-like receptor pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3),and proopiomelanocortin(POMC)in the hypothalamus or *** Compared to olanzapine alone,olanzapine+HFD induced greater weight gain,increased hyperlipidemia,and enhanced hepatic fat accumulation(P<0.05).Co-treatment with 4-PBA exhibited a dose-dependent inhibition of these effects(P<0.05).Further mechanistic investigations revealed that olanzapine alone activated ER stress,upregulated NLRP3 expression in the hypothalamus and liver,and downregulated hypothalamic POMC *** HFD exacerbated these effects by 50%–100%.Moreover,co-administration of 4-PBA dose-dependently attenuated the olanzapine+HFD-induced alterations in ER stress,NLRP3,and POMC expression in the hypothalamus and liver(P<0.05).Conclusion HFD worsened olanzapine-induced weight gain and lipid metabolic disorders,possibly through ER stress-POMC and ER stress-NLRP3 *** stress inhibitors could be effective in preventing olanzapine+HFD-induced metabolic disorders.

Hybrid tri-memristor hyperchaotic map and application in Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Nets
