Secondary electron yield suppression using millimeter-scale pillar array and explanation of the abnormal yield–energy curve

The phenomenon of secondary electron emission is of considerable interest in areas such as particle accelerators and on-board radio frequency(RF) *** secondary electron yield(TSEY) is a parameter that is frequently used to describe the secondary electron emission capability of a *** has been widely recognized that the TSEY *** electron energy curve has a single-hump ***, the TSEY–energy curve with a double-hump shape was also observed experimentally-this anomaly still lacks *** this work, we explain this anomaly with the help of a millimetre-scale(mm-scale) silver pillar array fabricated by three-dimensional(3 D) printing *** TSEY–energy curve of this pillar array as well as its flat counterpart is obtained using sample current *** measurement results show that for the considered primary electron energy(40–1500 eV), the pillar array can obviously suppress TSEY,and its TSEY–energy curve has an obvious double-hump *** Monte Carlo simulations and electron beam spot size measurements, we successfully attribute the double-hump effect to the dependence of electron beam spot size on the primary electron *** observations of this work may be of help in determining the TSEY of roughened surface with characteristic surface structures comparable to electron beam spot *** also experimentally confirms the TSEY suppression effect of pillar arrays.

Role of Hiraoka's transurethral detachment of the prostate combined with biopsy of the peripheral zone during the same session in patients with repeated negative biopsies in the diagnosis of prostate cancer

BACKGROUND Persistent suspicion of prostate cancer(PCa)due to a rising prostate-specific antigen(PSA)level after repeated negative biopsies is a serious challenge in clinical *** To determine the role of Hiraoka’s transurethral detachment of the prostate(TUDP)combined with biopsy of the peripheral zone during the same session in patients with repeated negative biopsies in the diagnosis of *** We retrospectively evaluated the records of 10 patients who were eligible for inclusion in our hospital between December 2012 and August *** demographics,a family history of PCa,the number of biopsies,prostate volume,pathological examination,and perioperative PSA level were *** Two of 10 patients were pathologically diagnosed with PCa after surgery;the Gleason scores were 4+4 and 4+3,*** patients subsequently underwent laparoscopic radical *** median PSA levels preoperatively,and 3 mo and 1 year postoperatively in the other eight patients who were diagnosed with benign prostate hyperplasia after surgery were 19.10 ng/mL,1.10 ng/mL,and 1.15 ng/mL,*** adjusted P values of the 3-mo and 1-year post-operative PSA level vs pre-operative PSA level were 0.003 and 0.026,*** of the patients had increased PSA levels or PCa detected after a median 35 mo of *** TUDP combined with peripheral zone biopsy may improve the detection rate of PCa in patients with repeated negative *** PSA level declined rapidly in patients who had negative pathological examinations after TUDP,which remained stable 1 year after surgery.

Experimental and numerical investigation of inclined air/SF_6 interface instability under shock wave

The shock tube experiments of inclined air/SF6 interface instability under the shock wave with the Mach numbers 1.23 and 1.41 are conducted. The numerical simulation is done with the parallel algorithm and the multi-viscous-fluid and turbulence （MVFT） code of the large-eddy simulation （LES）. The developing process of the interface accelerated by the shock wave is reproduced by the simulations. The complex wave structures, e.g., the propagation, refraction, and reflection of the shock wave, are clearly revealed in the flows. The simulated evolving images of the interface are consistent with the experimental ones. The simulated width of the turbulent mixing zone （TMZ） and the displacements of the bubble and the spike also agree well with the experimental data. Also, the reliability and effectiveness of the MVFT in simulating the problem of interface instability are validated. The more energies are injected into the TMZ when the shock wave has a larger Mach number. Therefore, the perturbed interface develops faster.

Effects of laser shock peening on fatigue crack growth rate and fracture properties of AA2524 aluminum alloy

In order to prolong the service life of aircraft skin made from AA2524, the effects of laser shock peening(LSP) on fatigue crack growth(FCG) rate and fracture toughness(K_(c)) of AA2524 were investigated. Multiple LSP treatment was performed on compact tension(CT) specimen from single side and double sides. The surface integrity was measured with Vickers hardness tester, X-ray diffractometer and confocal laser scanning microscope, respectively. FCG rate test and fracture toughness test under plane stress were carried out after LSP treatment. The microstructure features of cross-sections were observed with scanning electron microscope. The results showed that the micro-hardness and residual stress of CT specimens were increased dramatically after LSP treatment. Compared to the base metal(BM), the fatigue life was prolonged by 2.4 times and fracture toughness was increased by 22% after multiple LSP.

Grain Yield, Quality and 2-Acetyl-1-Pyrroline of Fragrant Rice in Response to Different Planting Seasons in South China

Climate conditions is an important factor affected the fragrant rice growth and *** order to study the effects of different planting seasons on fragrant rice performance in South China,present study was conducted with three planting seasons(early season(April to July),middle season(June to September)and late season(August to November))and three fragrant rice cultivars,‘Basmati-385’,‘Meixiangzhan-2’and‘Xiangyaxiangzhan’.The results showed that the highest grain yield and grain 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline(2-AP,key component of fragrant rice aroma)content were both recorded in late season treatment while the fragrant rice in middle season treatment produced the lowest grain yield,grain filling percentage,1000-grain weight and gain 2-AP *** highest contents of precursors(proline,pyrroline-5-carboxylic acid and 1-pyrro-line)which related to 2-AP biosynthesis were recorded in late season treatment compared with early season treatment and middle season *** highest activities of enzymes(proline dehydrogenase,pyrroline-5-carboxylic acid synthetase and ornithine transaminase)which involved in 2-AP biosynthesis were also observed in late season ***,the fragrant rice cultivars in late season possessed the lowest chalk rice rate,chalkiness as well as the highest brown rice rate,head rice and protein ***,the optimal season for fragrant rice production in South China is the late season.

Crystal structure and negative thermal expansion of solid solution Lu_2W_(3-x)Mo_xO_(12)

A new series of solid solutions Lu2W3-xMoxO12 （0.5≤r≤2.5） were successfully synthesized by the solid-state method. Their crystal structure and negative thermal expansion properties were studied using high-temperature X-ray powder diffraction and the Rietveld method. All samples of rare-earth ttmgstates and molybdates are found to crystallize in the same orthorhombic structure with space group Pnca and show the negative thermal expansion phenomena related to transverse vibration of bridging oxygen atoms in the structure. Thermal expansion coefficients （TEC） of Lu2W3_xMoxO12 are determined as -20.0× 10^-6 K^-1 for x=0.5 and -16.1×10^-6 K^-1 for x=2.5 but -18.6× 10^-6 and -16.9× 10^-6K^-1 for unsubstituted Lu2W3012 and Lu2M03012 in the identical temperature range of 200 to 800℃. High-temperature X-ray diffraction （XRD） data and bond length analysis suggest that the difference between W-O and Mo-O bond is responsible for the change of TECs after the element substitution in this series of solid solutions.

Measuring the Capability of Biological Incident Rescue Teams in China:A Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process Based Model-Tianjin Municipality,China,2022-2023

Introduction:The swift advancement of biotechnology has presented both opportunities and challenges to our society,thrusting biosafety to the forefront of ***,the evaluation of rescue capabilities in the event of a bioterrorism incident becomes of paramount ***,there is a notable absence of specific measurement criteria and a comprehensive evaluation *** paper aims to establish a systematic approach towards assessing emergency response capabilities in the context of bioterrorism ***:We employed an enhanced Delphi methodology to establish an index evaluation ***,the weight of the judgment matrix was ascertained via the application of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation *** led to the creation of a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model for bioterrorism rescue ***:A modified Delphi study was conducted involving 11 experts across two rounds,achieving a response rate of 100%.The Kendall coordination coefficients recorded in the first and second rounds were 0.303 and 0.632,respectively(P<0.05).Upon comprehensive analysis involving score,coefficient of variation,and full score ratio,we distinguished five primary indicators and 25 secondary ***,an evaluation model was developed based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP)tailored to assess the response to a rescue from ***:The expert panel confirmed consensus on all aspects of the model,validating its comprehensive *** succeeding course of action involves converting the assessment model to a measurable scale,affirming its functionality,and implementing it in practical evaluation tasks to further enhance the capabilities of the biological incident rescue team.

空气污染是肝细胞癌(HCC)发病的重要原因。本文从癌症基因组图谱(TCGA)数据库、国际肿瘤基因组协作组(ICGC)数据库和CTD数据库下载的三个基因集,得到HCC在发生发展过程中受空气污染影响的共同关联基因。利用DAVID数据库、Metascape在线平台进行GO和KEGG富集分析,STRING数据库分析并绘制PPI蛋白互作网络图,采用单因素Cox分析筛选出对肝细胞癌预后有预测功能的关键基因。研究结果表明:在119个共同关联基因中筛选出8个预后关键基因,相对于肝正常组织,关键基因在肝癌肿瘤组织中mRNA及蛋白表达水平呈现高表达,在生存分析中显示预后不良,对不同临床特征和预后生存具有重要指导作用。8个预后关键基因可用作受空气污染影响的HCC潜在标志物,为肝癌潜在诊断和预后生物标志物的识别提供理论依据。
