A systematic study on the influence of Nd^(3+) substitution on structural,magnetic and electrical properties of cobalt ferrite nanopowders obtained by sol–gel auto-combustion routewas *** formation of spinel phasewas confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XrD)data,and percolation limit ofNd3?into the spinel lattice was also *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIr)bands observed ≈580 and ≈390 cm^(-1 ) support the presence of Fe^(3+) at A andbsites in the spinel *** variation in microstructure was investigated by scanning electronmicroscopy(SEm),and the average grain size varies from 5.3 to 3.3 *** substitution of Nd^(3+) significantly affects the formation of pores and grain size of cobalt ***-temperature saturation magnetization and coercivity decrease from 60 to 30 mA·m^(2)·g^(-1) and 19.9–17.8 mT,respectively,with Nd^(3+) substitution *** decreases in magnetic properties are explained based on the presence of non-magnetic nature of Nd^(3+) concentration and the dilution of super-exchange interaction in the spinel *** room-temperature direct-current electrical resistivity increases with Nd^(3+) concentration increasing,which is due to the unavailability of Fe^(2+) at octahedral b sites.

Geopolymers are inorganic adhesive synthesized from industrial waste such as fly ash thus the development of wood geopolymer composite would be a low carbon footprint ***,being a non-formaldehyde adhesive can be used as an alternative binder for wood based composites where environmentally friendly and sustainability of product is *** this study flyash as precursor is been used in the development of wood geopolymer composite *** is activated with a combination of sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate solutions at a weight ratio of 1:2.5 for geopolymer *** study investigated the properties of wood geopolymer composite made with ratios of wood particle to flyash percentage(23/77),(37/62),(44/55),(50/50)and(57/43).Geopolymer formation was observed by X-ray Diffraction(XrD)and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIr).Influence of wood particles in wood geopolymer composite were observed by Scanning electron *** study shows that the water absorption and thickness selling properties of all the formulations of wood geopolymer composites are comparable with the medium density particle board and cement-bonded particleboard according to the IS:3087-2005 standard and IS:12406:*** mechanical properties and good bond strength was obtained by the composite containing 23%wood particle ratio with 77%percent ***,still improvement in mechanical properties is needed to achieve the mechanical properties comparable to cement bonded particle board.

DC Conductivity and Spectroscopic Characterization of Poly (o-toluidine) Doped with binary Dopant ZrOCl<sub>2</sub>/AgI

Aqueous binary dopant (ZrOCl2/AgI) is used in different ratio such as 1:1, 1:2 and 2:1 (w/w) for chemical doping to enhance the conductivity of synthesized Poly (o-toluidine) (POT). The doping of Poly (o-toluidine) is carried out using tetrahydrofuran as solvent. Doped samples are characterized using various techniques such as I-V characteristics, UV-Visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffractometry (XrD), FTIr and Photoluminescence (PL) studies. A significant enhancement in DC conductivity has been observed with the introduction of binary dopant. UV-Visible study shows that optical parameters change considerably after doping. Interestingly, both direct and indirect band gaps are observed in the doped samples. XrD patterns show the semi-crystalline nature of doped Poly (o-toluidine). FTIr study shows structural modifications in functional groups with doping in POT. A Photolyminescence spectrum exhibits the emission properties of the samples.

AIm: To conduct a meta-analysis to compare roux-en-Y (r-Y) gastrojejunostomy with gastroduodenal billroth?I?(b-I) anastomosis after distal gastrectomy (DG) for gastric cancer.mETHODS: A literature search was performed to identify studies comparing r-Y with b-I?after DG for gastric cancer from January 1990 to November 2012 in medline, Embase, Science Citation Index Expanded and the Cochrane Central register of Controlled Trials in The Cochrane Library. Pooled odds ratios (Or) or weighted mean differences (WmD) with 95%CI were calculated using either ?xed or random effects model. Operative outcomes such as operation time, intraoperative blood loss and postoperative outcomes such as anastomotic leakage and stricture, bile re?ux, remnant gastritis, re?ux esophagitis, dumping symptoms, delayed gastric emptying and hospital stay were the main outcomes assessed. meta-analyses were performed using revman 5.0 software (Cochrane library).rESULTS: Four randomized controlled trials (rCTs) and 9 non-randomized observational clinical studies (OCS) involving 478 and 1402 patients respectively were included. meta-analysis of rCTs revealed that r-Y reconstruction was associated with a reduced bile re?ux (Or 0.04, 95%CI: 0.01, 0.14; P remnant gastritis (Or 0.43, 95%CI: 0.28, 0.66; P = 0.0001), however needing a longer operation time (WmD 40.02, 95%CI: 13.93, 66.11; P = 0.003). meta-analysis of OCS also revealed r-Y reconstruction had a lower incidence of bile re?ux (Or 0.21, 95%CI: 0.08, 0.54; P = 0.001), remnant gastritis (Or 0.18, 95%CI: 0.11, 0.29; P re?ux esophagitis (Or 0.48, 95%CI: 0.26, 0.89; P = 0.02). However, this reconstruction method was found to be associated with a longer operation time (WmD 31.30, 95%CI: 12.99, 49.60; P = 0.0008).CONCLUSION: This systematic review point towards some clinical advantages that are rendered by r-Y compared to b-I?reconstruction post DG. Efficiency of Coir Particle board for Acoustic &Thermal Applications

Coir fibre is extracted from the husk of coconut and is used in products such as floor mats, door mats, brushes and mattresses and in many applications. Here coir fibres are used to make particle boards of densities 300, 400 and 500 kg/m3 using UF resin to determine its efficiency for interior applications like acoustic and thermal properties and also tested for Indian standard 3129. Noise reduction Coefficient (NrC) of all the boards decreases with an increase in density. maximum sound absorption coefficient for all three densities was found in the frequency range of 2500 to 30,000 Hz. Among three densities, 300 kg/m3 board shows the maximum absorption coefficient at frequency 3000 Hz. The thermal conductivity results of all three densities boards increase with an increase in density. modulus of rupture for all three densities were meeting the requirement of standard. results reveal that particle board manufactured from coir fibre can be used for acoustic and thermal insulation applications.

Enhanced 3D Point Cloud reconstruction for Light Field microscopy Using U-Net-based Convolutional Neural Networks

This article describes a novel approach for enhancing the three-dimensional(3D)point cloud reconstruction for light field microscopy(LFm)using U-net architecture-based fully convolutional neural network(CNN).Since the directional view of the LFm is limited,noise and artifacts make it difficult to reconstruct the exact shape of 3D point *** existing methods suffer from these problems due to the self-occlusion of the *** manuscript proposes a deep fusion learning(DL)method that combines a 3D CNN with a U-Net-based model as a feature *** sub-aperture images obtained from the light field microscopy are aligned to form a light field data cube for preprocessing.A multi-stream 3D CNNs and U-net architecture are applied to obtain the depth feature fromthe directional sub-aperture LF data *** the enhancement of the depthmap,dual iteration-based weighted median filtering(WmF)is used to reduce surface noise and enhance the accuracy of the *** a 3D point cloud involves combining two key elements:the enhanced depth map and the central view of the light field *** proposed method is validated using synthesized Heidelberg Collaboratory for Image Processing(HCI)and real-world LFm *** results are compared with different state-of-the-art *** structural similarity index(SSIm)gain for boxes,cotton,pillow,and pens are 0.9760,0.9806,0.9940,and 0.9907,***,the discrete entropy(DE)value for LFm depth maps exhibited better performance than other existing methods.
