This paper reports the results of the analyses of 17 different hb variants which were observed in 37 families. high pressure liquid chromatography (hPLC) was used to separate tryptic and thermolytic peptides of globin chains. The double coupling microsequencing technique can successfully be used for sequencing small or larger peptides.

barium hexaferrites baFe11.6Mox Zn0.4-x O19（x=0.1,0.2,0.4）were prepared by precipitation of the precursors using wet chemical mixture method and then sintering the dried powders at 1100℃.The properties of the prepared samples were investigated using X-ray difraction（XRD）,scanning electron microscopy（SEM）,vibrating sample magnetometer,and Mssbauer *** patterns revealed that all prepared samples had baFe12O19hexaferrite structure as a majority *** images demonstated that the samples consisted mainly of hexagonal platelet-like grains with diameters ranging from 100 to 500 nm.Mssbauer spectra revealed that Zn2＋ions occupy 4f1 sites leading to the splitting of the 12k *** Mo6＋ions occupy 2b sites while Mo4＋ prefer 4f1 and 12k *** the sample with x=0.4,Mo6＋and Mo4＋ ions were found to have preference for 2b and 12k sites,respectively,and to induce the development of Fe2＋ions in the hexaferrite,leading to noticeable changes in the magnetic properties of the *** observed magnetic properties were found to be consistent with the preferential site occupation of metal ions,and the hyperfine fields derived from Mssbauer spectra of these samples.

The strength-ductility trade-offhas been a longstanding dilemma in metallic *** we report an innovative approach to achieve a high strength-ductility synergy via dual precipitation of sheared and bypassed precipitates.(Ni_(2) Co_(2) FeCr)_(96-x) Al_(4) Nb_(x)(at.%)alloys strengthened by nanoscale L12 particles and Laves precipitates were selected as a model for this study,and their precipitate microstructures and mechanical properties were thoroughly *** dual-precipitation-strengthened alloys exhibit a yield strength of more than 1400 MPa,an ultimate tensile strength of over 1800 MPa,and a uniform elon-gation of 18%,thus achieving a high strength-ductility *** analysis reveals that the nanoscale L1_(2) precipitates contribute to the strength via the particle shearing mechanism,whereas the Laves phase provides the strengthening through the Orowan bypass *** study of deformation microstruc-tures shows that the L1_(2) precipitates are sheared by stacking faults,which facilitates long-range disloca-tion gliding through the *** a result,deformation induces the formation of hierarchical stacking fault networks and immobile Lomer-Cottrell locks,which effectively enhance the work hardening ca-pability and plastic stability,thereby resulting in a high ductility at high strength *** are piled-up against the interface between the Laves precipitates and matrix,which increases the work hardening capability at the early stages of plastic deformation but causes stress *** dual precipitation strategy may be useful for many other alloys for achieving superior mechanical properties for technological applications.

A composite coating of nitrogen-doped carbon dots(N–CDs)and polydopamine(PDA)was prepared on magnesium alloy by combining electrodeposition with dip coating *** microstructure of the N–CDs/PDA composite coating,including composition,surface morphology,and crystalline structure,is characterized by Raman spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,*** corrosion protection performances of the composite coating are evaluated by potentiodynamic polarization tests,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,and salt spray *** effect of the particle size of the N–CDs on the corrosion performance is also *** results show that the corrosion performance of the N–CDs coatings are enhanced with the increase of the particle ***,an obvious self-healing performance is observed on the surface of the N–CDs/PDA composite *** results indicate that N–CDs/PDA composite coating can improve the corrosion performance of the Mg alloy,and open a new design direction for the protective coating of metallic materials.

Through dimension analysis, an almost analytical model for the maximum diffusion induced stress（DIS）and critical temperature（or concentration） difference at which cracks begin to initiate in the diffusion process is developed. It interestingly predicts that the spacing of diffusioninduced cracks is constant, independent of the thickness of specimen and the temperature difference. These conclusions are validated by our thermal shock experiments on alumina plates. Furthermore, the proposed model can interpret observed hierarchical crack patterns for high temperature jump cases, and a three-stage relation between the residual strength and the temperature difference. The prediction for crack spacing can guide the biomimetic thermal-shockfailure proof design, in which the hard platelets smaller than the predicted diffusion induced by constant crack-spacing are embedded in a soft matrix, and, therefore, no fracture will happen. This may guide the design of the thermal protection system and the lithium ion battery. Finally we present the maximum normalized DISes for various geometry and boundary conditions by single-variable curves for the stressindependent diffusion process and two-variable contour plots for the stress-dependent diffusion process, which can provideengineers and materialists a simple and easy way to quickly evaluate the reliability of related materials and devices.

NiTi-based shape memory alloys(SMAs)are considered as cutting-edge intelligent functional ***,it remains a great challenge to obtain ultrafine-grained(UFGed)bulk materials with mm-scale size as well as outstanding superelastic ***,UFGed bulk Ti_(35)Zr_(15)Ni_(35)Cu_(15)NiTi-based SMA is successfully prepared via spark plasma sintering of amorphous ribbon precursor at different sintering temperatures,and microstructural evolution and superelastic properties are symmetrically *** is found that its grain size ranges from UFG to micro-grain with increased sintering temperature regard-less of the predominant b2 matrix in all bulk ***,the orientation relationships between b2 matrix and nano-scale fcc(Ti,Zr)_(2)Ni precipitate evolve from coherent to ***,the UFGed samples exhibit perfect superelasticity with the high recoverable strain of∼5.8%,the stable recov-ery rate above 99%,and the great critical stress inducing martensitic transformation higher than 1 GPa,far superior to the corresponding ones of suction-cast micro-grained TiZrNiCu ***,the perfect superelasticity is attributed to the good resistance to dislocation slip or grain boundary slip by residual nano-scale amorphous phase or secondary phase of coherent and semi-coherent fcc(Ti,Zr)_(2)Ni *** addition,the gentle superelastic plateau is associated to the favorable transfer stress and the strong ability to accommodate dislocation movement,which is generated by the coherent interface between nano-scale fcc(Ti,Zr)_(2)Ni and UFGed b2 *** results suggest that spark plasma sintering of amorphous alloy precursor is a feasible route to obtaining excellent superelasticity in NiTi-based SMAs.

In this paper we review and integrate key aspects of behavioral and life history traits, food supply and populationdynamics of the white-footed mouse (Peromyscus leucopus), a species that is abundant and widely distributedacross much of eastern North America. Results are based largely on a 33-year mark-and-recapture study in a forestfragment in northwest Ohio, USA. behavioral plasticity in such reproductive traits as mating system and parentalcare allows this species to adjust quickly to changing environments. The species has a relatively “fast” life history,with rapid attainment of sexual maturity and high fecundity in the face of high mortality rates. Maximal reproductiveeffort early in life enables a rapid population response. Food supply, in the form of mast, determines thesize of the reproducing population in early spring, which, in turn, influences the size of the late summer peak *** peak population size is also affected by short-term weather events possibly acting via the food *** effects of weather and food on population growth are in part mediated through competition, including defenseof space and suppression of reproduction. The inelasticity of female territories appears to set an upper limit topopulation density.

To study the difference in the accumulation of bioactive constituents in Spine gourd(Momordica dioica Roxb.),the changes in its phenolic compounds at mature green(fruit utilized)and ripe red(fruit wasted)stages were analysed,and it was correlated with their antioxidant and anthelmintic *** highest total phenolic content was observed in ripe peel ethyl acetate(RPEA),tannins in ripe seed hexane(RSh)and flavonoid in ripe peel ethanol(RPE)***–MS analysis identified 15 phenolic compounds in the *** highest antioxidant potential was shown by RSh in DPPh(IC_(50)1.47 mg/ml),RPEA in AbTS(IC_(50)2.40 mg/ml),and mature peel water(MPeW)extract in FRAP assays(0.58μg trolox equivalent per g dw).RPE induced the highest anthelmintic activity against Caenorhabditis elegans in egg hatch assay(LC_(50)-0.02 mg/ml),and adult worm mortality assay(LC_(50)-1.44 mg/ml),as well as 100%death of infective juveniles in heterorhabditis indica(50 mg/ml).Correlation studies and Principal Component Analysis(PCA)indicated the relationship of catechins,quercetin,kaempferol,rutin,and gallic acid to anthelmintic *** study showed that the ripe stage of Spine gourd,which gets disposed of as postharvest waste,had better anthelmintic activity,and it can be utilized for the development of food formulations with anthelmintic potential.

This paper presents the influence of TeO_(2) on the optical and physical properties of rare earth ion Pr^(3+) doped 75PbO-(24-x)b_(2)O_(3-x)TeO_(2)-1Pr_(2)O_(3) glass *** the absorption coefficient measurements,optical band gap energies of the studied glasses are *** ion polarizability,refractive index,optical basicity,reflection loss and transmission coefficient are discussed and reported for the investigated *** parameters like the optical dielectric constant,polaron radius,interatomic separation,molar refraction and the metallization criterion are also studied through molar density and molar *** FTIR analysis reveals the shift of the band appearing at 1029 to 870 cm^(-1) because of the high concentration of PbO(75 mol% in the present glass)in the *** Pb-O-b linkage is considered to be the important in the network structure of these *** the present glasses metallization parameter values arebility values are high but decrease with increasing value of TeO_(2) *** may be due to densification of restricted or localized states caused by the creation of dangling bonds.
