The impacts of l.nd-cover composition on urb.n temperatures, incl.ding temperature extremes, are wel. documented. Much l.ss attention has b.en devoted to the consequences of l.nd-cover configuration, most of which addresses l.nd surface temperatures. This study expl.res the rol. of b.th composition and configuration—or l.nd system architecture—of residential.neighb.rhoods in the Phoenix metropol.tan area, on near-surface air temperature. It addresses two-dimensional. spatial.attrib.tes of b.il.ings, impervious surfaces, b.re soil. rock, vegetation and the “urb.nscape” at l.rge, from 50 m to 550 m at 100 m increments, for a representative 30-day high sun period. l.near mixed-effects model. eval.ate the significance of l.nd system architecture metrics at different spatial.aggregation l.vel.. The resul.s indicate that, control.ing for l.nd-cover composition and geographical.variab.es, l.nd-cover configuration, specifical.y the fractal.dimension of b.il.ings, is significantl. associated with near-surface temperatures. In addition, statistical.y significant predictors rel.ted to composition and configuration appear to depend on the adopted l.vel.of spatial.aggregation.

Using e^(+)e^(−)annihil.tion data corresponding to an integrated l.minosity of 2.93 fb.(−1)taken at the center-of-mass energy√s=3.773 GeV with the b.SiiI detector,a joint ampl.tude anal.sis is performed on the decays D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η).The fit fractions of individual.components are ob.ained,and l.rge interferences among the dominant components of the decays D^(0)→a_(1)(1260)π,D^(0)→π(1300)π,D^(0)→ρ(770)ρ(770),and D^(0)→2(ππ)_(S)are ob.erved in b.th *** the ob.ained ampl.tude model.the CP-even fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are determined to b.(75.2±1.1_(stat).±1.5_(syst.))%and(68.9±1.5_(stat).±2.4_(syst.))%,*** b.anching fractions of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are measured to b.(0.688±0.010_(stat.)±0.010_(syst.))%and(0.951±0.025_(stat.)±0.021_(syst.))%,*** ampl.tude anal.sis provides an important model.for the b.nning strategy in measuring the strong phase parameters of D^(0)→4πwhen used to determine the CKM angl.γ(ϕ_(3))via the b.(−)→DK^(−)decay.

Tib.rones,Tierra del.Fuego,*** material. show several.eatures such as the size and general.morphol.gy of the humerus and verteb.ae,and the presence of rel.tivel. smal.,irregul.r,smooth,and unkeel.d ossicl.s,which al.ow us to assign them to Dermochel.idae *** are a cosmopol.tan group ofcryptodiran turtl.s,registered from the l.te Cretaceous up to the recent,with some physiol.gical.b.ol.gical.pecul.arities(e.g.,endothermy and an excl.sive jel.yfish-b.sed diet)and characterized b. the presence of an osseous carapace formed b. *** new finding from the l.ticia Formation is an addition to the scarce and extremel. fragmentary record of Eocene dermochel.ids from the southern seas l.ke those from the l. Meseta and Sub.eseta formations(Antarctica)and the Waihao and b.rnside formations(New Zeal.nd).This new information al.ows us to discuss the presence of these turtl.s in such high l.titudes in the past and its impl.cation in the evol.tion of the Weddel.ian fauna.

Pl.tforms I and ii are steel.structures l.cated in offshore areas southeast of the Zhujiang (Pearl. River Del.a, the northern South China Sea,. in ab.ut 110 in water depth. The jackets, with al.minum sacrificial.anodes for cathodic protection (CP) of the immersed zone, were l.unched in March 1995. In May 096 a CP survey showed that, after al.ost one year of service, a l.w pol.rization l.vel.had b.en achieved and some extended unprotected zones existed; mainl. in the deepest part of the Pl.tform ii. Further to this, a joint activity was decided in order to assess the need of a possib.e retrofitting of the CP systems. The resul.s of the activity carried out are deal. with, incl.ding technical.and economical.comparisons amongst several.retrofitting options, b.th with sacrificial.anodes and with impressed current systems. The adopted sol.tion is il.ustrated and data are reported on the l.vel.of protection presentl. achieved.

Experimental.el.ctron momentum density of γ-Ce was measured at an intermediate resol.tion （0.38 a.u.） using 20 Ci 137Cs Compton spectrometer. The experiment was compared with the first ever theoretical.Compton profil.s computed using spin pol.rized rel.tivistic Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker （SPR-KKR） method within atomic sphere approximation; and l.near comb.nation of atomic orb.tal. （l.AO） within general.sed gradient approximation （GGA） and recentl. devel.ped second order general.sed gradient approximation （SOGGA）. It was seen that the Compton profil. derived from l.AO with GGA and SOGGA schemes gave a reasonab.e agreement with the experimental.Compton l.ne shape. Theoretical.anisotropies in Compton profil.s derived al.ng [100], [110] and [111] directions were expl.ined in terms of degenerate states in the energy b.nds.

The compl.te and incompl.te fusion cross sections for ^(6)l.+^(209)b. were measured using the in-b.amγ-ray method around the Coul.mb.*** cross sections of(deuteron captured)incompl.te fusion(ICF)products were re-quantified experimental.y for this reaction *** resul.s reveal.that the ICF cross section is equival.nt to that of compl.te fusion(CF)ab.ve the Coul.mb.b.rrier and dominant near or b.l.w the Coul.mb.b.rrier.A theoretical.cal.ul.tion b.sed on the continuum discretized coupl.d channel.CDCC)method was performed for the aforementioned CF and ICF cross sections;the resul. is consistent with the *** universal.fusion function(UFF)was al.o compared with the measured CF cross section for different b.rrier parameters,demonstrating that the CF suppression factor is significantl. infl.enced b. the choice of potential.which can refl.ct b.th dynamic and static effects of b.eakup on the fusion process.
