Injury to central nervous system （CNS） tissues in adult mam- mals often leads to neuronal loss, scarring, and permanently lost neurologic functions, and this default healing response is increasingly linked to a pro-inflammatory innate immune response. Extracellular matrix （ECM） technology can reduce inflammation, while increasing functional tissue remodeling in various tissues and organs, including the CNS.

Macrocycle-based glycoclusters, on account of their promising anti-adhesive properties against bacteria,are potential therapeutic alternatives to classic antibiotics through the much less explored anti-adhesive strategy. In this study, a series of constitutionally-pure pentavalent glycoclusters was prepared by conjugating assorted azido-carbohydrates onto a penta-propargyl rim-differentiated pillar[5]arene(RD-P[5])scaffold through Cu(I)-catalyzed azide–alkyne cycloaddition “click” reactions. Their binding towards therapeutically relevant bacterial lectins, such as Lec A and Lec b from Pseudomonas aeruginosa and concanavalin A(Con A), were evaluated subsequently by isothermal titration calorimetric studies. Most of these isomerfree RD-P[5] pentavalent glycoclusters, except the fucosylated ones, display good affinities to ***, the dissociation constants observed are similar to those displayed by an analogous pentavalent glycocluster consisting of four P[5] constitutional isomers, in which the RD-P[5] component merely accounts for 7% in the mixture. Our results revealed that high constitutional purity is not essential for achieving effective multivalent interactions between P[5]-based glycoclusters and lectins, presumably as a result of the conformationally labile nature of the P[5] scaffold. This information provides valuable design principles for low-cost and facile syntheses of glycosylated P[5]s for biomedical applications.

In this work, we studied the catalytic activity of LaMnO3 and(La0.8A0.2)MnO3(A = Sr, K) perovskite catalysts for oxidation of NO and C10H22 and selective reduction of NO by C10H22. The catalytic per‐formances of these perovskites were compared with that of a 2 wt% Pt/SiO2 catalyst. The La site substitution increased the catalytic properties for NO or C10H22 oxidation compared with the non‐substituted LaMnO3 sample. For the most efficient perovskite catalyst,(La0.8Sr0.2)MnO3, the results showed the presence of two temperature domains for NO adsorption:(1) a domain corre‐sponding to weakly adsorbed NO, desorbing at temperatures lower than 270 °C and(2) a second domain corresponding to NO adsorbed on the surface as nitrate species, desorbing at temperatures higher than 330 °C. For the Sr‐substituted perovskite, the maximum NO2 yield of 80% was observed in the intermediate temperature domain (around 285 °C). In the reactant mixture of NO/C10H22/O2/H2O/He,(La0.8Sr0.2)MnO3 perovskite showed better performance than the 2 wt% Pt/SiO2 catalyst: NO2 yields reaching 50% and 36% at 290 and 370 °C, respectively. This activity improvement was found to be because of atomic scale interactions between the A and b active sites, Sr2+ cation and Mn4+/Mn3+ redox couple. Thus,(La0.8Sr0.2)MnO3 perovskite could be an alternative free noble metal catalyst for exhaust gas after treatment.

Importance:Parent-infant closeness and active parent participation in neonatal care are important for parent and infant ***:To give an overview of current neonatal settings and gain an in-depth understanding of facilitators and barriers to parent-infant closeness,zero-separation,in 19 ***:Neonatal intensive care unit(NICU)professionals,representing 45 NICUs from a range of geographic regions in Europe and Canada,were purposefully selected and interviewed June–December *** analysis was conducted to identify,analyze and report patterns(themes)for parent-infant closeness across the entire series of ***:Parent-infant separation during infant and/or maternity care is very common(42/45 units,93%),despite the implementation of family integrated care(FICare)practices,including parent participation in medical rounds(17/45,38%),structured education sessions for parents(16/45,36%)and structured training for healthcare professionals(22/45,49%).NICU professionals encountered four main themes with facilitators and barriers for parent-infant closeness on and between the hospital,unit,staff,and family level:Culture(jointly held characteristics,values,thinking and behaviors about parental presence and participation in the unit),Collaboration(the act of working together between and within different levels),Capacities(resources and policies),andCoaching(education to acquire and transfer knowledge and skills).Interpretation:Implementing parent-infant closeness in the NICU is still challenging for healthcare *** optimization in neonatal care towards zero-separation and parent-infant closeness can be achieved by enforcing the’’four Cs for Closeness’:Culture,Collaboration,Capacities,andCoaching.

During a training session for the university diploma of Mountain medicine delivered by University Sorbonne Paris Nord for medical doctors,one of the participants developed signs of maladaptation to high altitude at 3600 m,the severity of which was incorrectly *** was sparingly given by the patient(an anesthetist)to several of his colleagues and no one was in charge to collect clinical data,take a history,and provide appropriate *** combination of the absence of designation of a supervising doctor and the difficulty of communicating with the patient led to a lack of coordinated management and to an evolution of the symptoms towards severe acute mountain ***,the very rapid management of the patient and a rapid helicopter evacuation,as soon as the symptoms worsened towards the onset of a suspected high altitude cerebral and/or pulmonary edema,allowed rapid resolution without ***,medical,psychological,and managerial factors led to this Expert Group Syndrome.

AIM:To investigate the contribution of polymorphisms in nuclear receptors to risk of inflammatory bowel disease(IbD) . METHODS:Genotypes of nuclear factor(NF) -κb(NFKb1) NFκb-94ins/del(rs28362491) ;peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor(PPAR) -γ(PPARγ) PPARγPro12Ala(rs1801282) and C1431T(rs 3856806) ;pregnane X receptor(PXR) (NR1I2) PXR A-24381C(rs1523127) ,C8055T(2276707) ,and A7635G(rs 6785049) ;and liver X receptor(LXR) (NR1H2) LXR T-rs1405655-C and T-rs2695121-C were assessed in a Danish case-control study of 327 Crohn's disease patients,495 ulcerative colitis(UC) patients,and 779 healthy *** ratio(OR) and 95%CI were estimated by logistic regression models. RESULTS:The PXR A7635G variant,the PPARγPro12Ala and LXR T-rs2695121-C homozygous variant genotypes were associated with risk of UC(OR:1.31,95% CI:1.03-1.66,P=0.03,OR:2.30,95%CI:1.04-5.08,P=0.04,and OR:1.41,95%CI:1.00-1.98,P=0.05,respectively) compared to the corresponding homozygous wild-type *** never smokers,PXR A7635G and the LXR T-rs1405655-C and T-rs2695121-C variant genotypes were associated with risk of IbD(OR:1.41,95%CI:1.05-1.91,P=0.02,OR:1.63,95%CI:1.21-2.20,P=0.001,and OR:2.02,95%CI:1.36-2.99,P=0.0005,respectively) compared to the respective homozygous variant *** A7635G(rs6785049) variant genotype was associated with a higher risk of UC diagnosis before the age of 40 years and with a higher risk of extensive disease(OR:1.34,95%CI:1.03-1.75 and OR:2.49,95%CI:1.24-5.03,respectively) . CONCLUSION:Common PXR and LXR polymorphisms may contribute to risk of IbD,especially among never smokers.

background:The broodstock diet,and in particular the lipid and fatty acid composition of the diet,is known to play a key role in reproductive efficiency and survival of the progeny in fish.A major problem when replacing both fish meal and fish oil by plant sources is the lack of n-3 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids,such as eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA).To address this problem,we studied the effect of the plant-based diet supplemented with Schizochytrium ***,source of DHA,compared to a conventional commercial diet rich in fish meal and fish oil on reproductive performance and egg quality and the consequences on progeny,in female rainbow trout ***:The results demonstrated that DHA-rich microalgae supplementation in a plant-based diet allowed for the maintenance of reproductive performance and egg quality comparable to a conventional commercial feed rich in fish meal and fish oil and led to an increased significant fry survival after ***,when females were fed a plant-based diet supplemented with micro-algae,the 4-month-old progenies showed a significant higher growth when they were challenged with a similar diet as broodstock during 1 *** provide evidence for metabolic programming in which the maternal dietary induced significant protracted effects on lipid metabolism of ***:The present study demonstrates that supplementation of a plant-based diet with DHA-rich microalgae can be an effective alternative to fish meal and fish oil in rainbow trout broodstock aquafeed.
