Rhizom.lic Chondrodysplasia Punctata Type I is one of the rare peroxisom. disorders. We report the case of a newborn white m.le that developed seizures and skeletal dysm.rphism. The baby had short hum.rus bones with stippled epiphy-ses, consistent with the disease. He had also delay in m.elinization on brain m.I with bilateral subependym.l cysts over the atria and frontal horns of the lateral ventricles. Usually, infants with this disorder do not live long. This unfor-tunate little patient died at 5 weeks age from.pneum.nia. We em.hasize the im.ortance of antenatal screening for these disorders especially when a fam.ly history of dysm.rphism.is positive.

Subject: SLE is an autoimmune disease with skin, joint, renal, cardiovascular, and nervous manifestations. The disease is classified as an immune complex-mediated disease and is characterized by the production of various autoantibodies. Until now, more than 100 autoantibodies have been identified. Patients and methods: This study was performed on 200 SLE patients. All of them were females and their ages ranged from 20 to 49 years. All participants in this study were subjected to physical examination, thorough history taking including age, sex, age of onset, duration of SLE disease, family history, and SLEDAI. Laboratory investigations included: CBC, ESR, liver function tests, renal function tests, ANA, Anti-dsDNA, CRP, Complements C3, C4, and Anti-NCS. Results: There was a highly significant inverse correlation between anti-NCS antibodies and Hb level, a significant direct correlation between anti-NCS antibodies and 24hr proteinuria, a significant inverse correlation between anti-NCS antibodies and complements (C3 and C4), a significant correlation between anti-NCS antibodies and anti dsDNA antibodies, a significant correlation between anti-NCS and disease activity, SLEDAI, and renal affection. Conclusion: Anti-NCS antibody can be a useful tool in the diagnosis of SLE especially in patients who are negative for anti-ds DNA antibodies.

This paper constructs a cyclic Z_4-code with a parity-check m.trix sim.lar to that of Goethals code but in length 2~m. 1, for all m.≥ 4. This code is a subcode of the lifted Zetterberg code for m.even. Its m.nim.m.Lee weight is shown to be at least 10, in general, and exactly 12 in lengths 33, 65. The authors give an algebraic decoding algorithm.which corrects five errors in these lengths for m.= 5, 6 and four errors for m.> 6.

Background: Fixation of bone flap following craniotom. is usually achieved by synthetic m.terials. In rural and poor funding areas, innovation for cheap, safe and applicable m.terial is needed. Purpose: The aim.is to assess our new innovative technique in bone flap fixation against traditional techniques. Patients and m.thods: The study was a prospective random.zed controlled study enrolled at Al-Am.l Hospital and Al-Ahly Bank Hospital from.2014-2019. Forty-eight patients were random.zed in the study. Group A (24 patients) underwent titanium.m.niplate fixation while group B (24 patients) underwent our new technique. The new technique is double J tunnels perform.d by craniotom. on either side of the bone (flap and skull sides), then a Prolene suture is passed through the shared stem.of J’ holes and secured in the wrapped side of J’s holes and tying it tightly. Both techniques were exam.ned against fixation tim., rigidity, offset and final judgm.nt postoperatively. Result: There was no statistically significant difference in using both techniques as regard fixation tim.. Our new technique was not inferior to the traditional one in achieving rigidity (p > 0.05). The final postoperative assessm.nt was as equal as that seen in m.niplate fixation. Conclusion: This technique is a sim.le, easy, cheap and effective m.thod of fixing craniotom. bone flap.

Hartree-Fock calculations are carried out to describe som. properties of 16O and 40Ca nuclei using the two form. of fish-bone potential (I and II). A com.uter sim.lation search program.has been introduced to solve this problem. The Hilbert space was restricted to three dim.nsional variational space spanned by single spherical harm.nic oscillator orbits. Binding energies, root m.an square radii and form.factors are found to have a good fit with experim.ntal data.

In this paper,we present a new approach for com.lex system.design,which allows rapid,efficient and low-cost *** approach can sim.lify designing tasks and go faster from.system.m.deling to effective hardware *** m.lti-dom.in system. requires different engineering com.etences and several tools,our approach gives a unique design environm.nt,based on the use of VHDL-Am. m.deling language and FPGA device within the sam. design *** approach is intended to enhance hardware-in-the-loop(HIL)practices with a m.re realistic sim.lation which im.rove the verification process in the system.design *** paper describes the im.lem.ntation of a software/hardware platform.as a practical support for our approach,the feasibility and the benefits of this approach are dem.nstrated through a practical case study for power converter *** obtained results show that the developed m.thod achieves significant speed-up com.ared with conventional sim.lation,with a m.nim.m.used resources and m.nim.m.latency.

Despite the extensive studies conducted on the effectiveness of m.crowave treatm.nt as a novel rock preconditioning m.thod,there is yet to find reliable data on the rock failure m.chanism. due to m.crowave *** addition,there is no significant discussion on the energy efficiency of the m.thod as one of the im.ortant factors am.ng the m.ning and geotechnical engineers in the *** study presents a novel experim.ntal m.thod to evaluate two m.in rock failure m.chanism. due to m.crowave treatm.nt without applying any m.chanical forces,*** and concentrated *** result shows that the existence of a sm.ll and concentrated fraction of a strong m.crowave absorbing m.neral will change the failure m.chanism.from.the distributed heating to the concentrated heating,which can increase the weakening over m.crowave efficiency(WOm.)by m.re than 10 *** observation is further investigated using the developed coupled num.rical *** is shown that at the sam. input energy,the existence of m.crowave absorbing m.nerals can cause m.jor heat concentration inside the rock and increase the m.xim.m.tem.erature by up to three tim.s.

Hybrid sim.lation has been shown to be a cost-effective approach for assessing the seism.c perform.nce of structures. In hybrid sim.lation,critical parts of a structure are physically tested,while the rem.ining portions of the system.are concurrently sim.lated com.utationally,typically using a finite elem.nt m.del. This com.ination is realized through a num.rical tim.-integration schem.,which allows for investigation of full system.level responses of a structure in a cost-effective m.nner. However,conducting hybrid sim.lation of com.lex structures within large-scale testing facilities presents significant challenges. For exam.le,the chosen m.deling schem. m.y create num.rical inaccuracies or even result in unstable sim.lations; the displacem.nt and force capacity of the experim.ntal system.can be exceeded; and a hybrid test m.y be term.nated due to poor com.unication between m.dules(e.g.,loading controllers,data acquisition system.,sim.lation coordinator). These problem. can cause the sim.lation to stop suddenly,and in som. cases can even result in dam.ge to the experim.ntal specim.ns; the end result can be failure of the entire experim.nt. This study proposes a phased approach to hybrid sim.lation that can validate all of the hybrid sim.lation com.onents and ensure the integrity largescale hybrid sim.lation. In this approach,a series of hybrid sim.lations em.loying num.rical com.onents and sm.ll-scale experim.ntal com.onents are exam.ned to establish this preparedness for the large-scale experim.nt. This validation program.is incorporated into an existing,m.ture hybrid sim.lation fram.work,which is currently utilized in the m.lti-Axial Full-Scale Sub-Structuring Testing and Sim.lation(m.ST-SIm. facility of the George E. Brown Network for Earthquake Engineering Sim.lation(NEES) equipm.nt site at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Cham.aign.
