In this article we discuss the effect of posture on impedance during the placement of a spinal cord stimulator. Although, according to several studies, there appears not to be a specific and consistent change in impedance with change in posture, we noticed on multiple occasions that if the impedance remains very high during spinal cord stimulator (SCS) lead placement, asking the patient to sit up from the prone position may drop the impedance down. This could be explained by having air around the lead, from using loss of resistance to air technique in finding the epidural space, which moves up when sitting the patient up, or having the lead immersed in epidural fat. Sitting the patient up from the prone position should be tried if the impedance remains very high before aborting the procedure and taking the lead out.

About 8%of the imported iron oxide pellets burdens to Egypt are *** this paper,broken pellets waste(BPW)is used as raw material for the preparation of hard magnetic glass ceramics(HmGC)as well as soft magnetic glass ceramics(SmGC).About 54 wt%and 37 wt%of BPW are used to prepare SmGC and HmGC,*** thermal analysis(DTA)reveals two broad exothermic peaks for HmGC at 591℃and 697℃,whereas one exothermic peak at 820℃is detected for SmGC.X-ray diffraction(XRD)shows the crystallization of hematite as the sol phase in BPW,and meanwhile,Zn-ferrite and Ba-hexaferrite are identified in SmGC and HmGC,*** electron microscopy(TEm)reveals the crystallization of nanosize particles of~20 nm for SmGC and~12 nm for *** scanning magnetometer(VSm)reveals an increase in saturation magnetization from~1 emu/g for BPW to~77 emu/g for SmGC and 21 emu/g for HmGC.

AIm To investigate the prevalence and virological characteristics of occult hepatitis B virus(HBV) infections in patients with hematological malignancies in South *** Serum samples were collected from 165 patients with hematological malignancies to monitor titers of HBV DNA, hepatitis B surface antigen(HBs Ag), and antibodies to HBV core(anti-HBc) and surface antigens. Serum samples negative for HBs Ag and positive for anti-HBc were subjected to nucleic acid extraction and HBV DNA detection by real-time polymerase chain reaction. DNA sequences spanning the S region were analyzed in cases with occult HBV infection. In vitro comparative study of constructed 1.24-fold wild type and S protein mutant HBV genotype D clones was further performed. RESULTS HBV DNA was detected in 23(42.6%) of 54 patients with hematological malignancies who were HBsA g negative, but anti-HBc positive, suggesting the presence of occult HBV infection. The complete HBV genome was retrieved from 6 occult HBV patients, and P120 T and S143 L were detected in 3 and 2 cases, respectively. Site directed mutagenesis was done to produce 1.24-fold genotype D clones with amino acid mutations T120 and L143. The in vitro analyses revealed that a lower level of extracellular HBsA g was detected by chemiluminescence enzyme immunoassay(CLEIA) with the clone containing T120 mutation, compared with the wild type or the clone with S143 L mutation despite the similar levels of extracellular and intracellular HBs Ag detected by Western blot. Southern blot experiments showed that the levels of intracellular HBV DNA were not different between these clones. CONCLUSION Occult HBV infection is common in patients with hematological malignancies and associated with P120 T and S143 L mutations. 120 T mutation impairs the detection of HBsA g by CLEIA.

The Effect of Contact-Based Interventions on the Attitudes and Behaviors of Nursing Students towards People with mental Illness: A Literature Review

Background: Student nurses and other healthcare students are the future mental health professionals and have the potential for changing the future of mental healthcare. Therefore, their negative attitudes and behaviors should be screened and corrected by effective anti-stigma interventions. Otherwise, they would likely withhold some health services and practice coercive treatments once planning care to people with mental illness. However, little is known on effective approaches to correct these negative attitudes and behaviors, despite the previous reviews that have shown that contact-based interventions have demonstrated positive attitudinal and behavioral changes for nursing students towards people with mental illness. Aim: The aim of this literature review was to compile the available research evidence on contact-based interventions that have targeted the attitudes and behaviors of nursing students towards people with mental illness. methods: The relevant literature was extracted by searching electronic databases (mEDLINE, PsycINFO, and CINAHL) and by hand checking reference lists of past similar reviews. Results: Eleven studies were retrieved and included in this review. The included studies in this review either have employed social contact interventions, video-based social contact interventions, or both types for the aim of combining or comparing. Furthermore, the included studies either have targeted the attitudes of nursing students towards people with mental illness (including prejudice), or a combination of attitudinal and behavioral outcomes (including behavioral intentions and social distance). No studies have targeted behavioral outcomes solely. Conclusions: From the available literature, the current authors cannot draw conclusions on the most effective type, form, or ingredients of contact-based interventions among nursing students, as previous literature has large variations. The present study deals with the detailed field geology,mineralogy,geochemistry,and spectrometric prospection of rare metals and radioactive minerals associated with granitic pegmatites in the Gabal Um LassafAbu Dob-Um Atelia-Kadabora-Kab El Rakeb area(LDAKK),which are situated in the central Eastern Desert of *** study area is composed of granodiorites and *** latter is dissected by granitic pegmatites with a discriminatory distribution of economically important mineralization(rare-metals and U-Th minerals).The granitic pegmatites display a zoning structure composed of feldspar-rich zones enveloping pockets of mica(mostly muscovite) and all zoning internal quartz ***,the monzogranite and granitic pegmatites are composed of potash-feldspar,albite,and quartz with a small amount of biotite and *** mineralogical investigation of the highly radioactive zones in the granitic pegmatite shows enrichment in kasolite,uranothorite,thorite,xenotime,columbite,zircon,bismuth,and ***,the granitic pegmatites are enriched with high field strength elements(HFSE;Zr,Nb,Th,and U) and ion lithophilic elements(LILE;Rb,and Pb) and depleted in Ba,Sr,and *** are strongly peralkaline to metalumainous except for two samples,which are *** are formed by partial melting of metagreywackes at *** studied granitic pegmatites could belong to the NYF family(Niobium-Yttrium-Fluorine family) according to the geochemistry of the trace *** studied granitic pegmatites show deep negative Eu anomaly and display a strong m-type tetrad effect of rare earth *** field spectroscopy measurements showed the localization of the radiometric anomalous associated with the granitic pegmatites,which are intruded in the granitic host *** eU and eTh contents reached up to 316 and 1367 ppm,*** and thorium occurrences in the investigated granitic pegmatites are related to magmatic(syngenetic)ori

The aim of this paper is to design a water desalination plant using Reverse Osmosis membrane to treat salt water to be usable for drinkable, domestic, industrial or agricultural uses. RO unit is designed to conservative standards for versatility in the event of feed water quality variations. The design includes a feed water flush cycle to minimize membrane fouling and piping corrosion during shutdown. The system will be all appropriate controls and instrumentation for automatic operation. All system components are available and of heavy duty industrial design and fabricated with the highest quality workmanship. Quality control will be maintained throughout all manufacturing processes. The system will produce permeate water minimum of 3600 m3/day with a quality of approximately 100 ppm total dissolved solids (TDS) when operating on well feed water with a 10,000 ppm TDS and a temperature of 25 - 30 degrees C. The design permeate recovery is 50%;and energy recovery device which saves $30,556.28/year.

The decomposition kinetic parameters of ammonium perchlorate(AP) having different grain size(10-390 μ m) were investigated through simultaneous DSC / TGA(differential scanning calorimetry / thermal gravimetric analysis) analyzer in a dynamic nitrogen atmosphere under heating rate of 40K / *** kinetic parameters such as activation energy and pre-exponential factor were determined by the modified isoconversional *** Brurzauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)-method was applied to measure AP specific surface *** results show that the higher the AP particle size the lower the determined kinetic parameters and are matched with some important literatures.

moringa oleifera is a miracle plant rich in nutrients,antioxidants,and antibiotic *** study was designed to evaluate various biochemical attributes of leaves and flowers of *** parts(leaves,flowers)of ***,collected from different roadsides of multan district,Punjab,Pakistan,were used as experimental *** indicates that alkaloids,saponin,carbohydrates,fats,and protein had a high value in the aqueous extract of both leaves and flowers of *** phenol content was high in methanolic leaves extract and the phenol contents were high in aqueous extract of *** extract yield of *** leaves and flowers both showed a higher percentage in aqueous extract(57.5%),followed by methanol extract and lowest in ethyl acetate *** contents were higher in ethyl acetate extract of leaves(33.67%)and aqueous extract of flowers(53.71%).While crude fiber was high in methanolic extract of leaves(12.40%)and in flowers crude fiber was high in ethyl acetate extract(15.86%).The moisture contents were higher in leaves(8.87%)than flowers(7.3%)and similarly,ash percentage in flowers(52.60%)than leaves(41.84%).Ethyl acetate extracts of *** leaves show antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa while methanolic extract of *** flowers shows antibacterial activity against Xanthomonas *** growth inhibits show in all extracts of leaves against Aspergillus flavus,***,and *** except for the concentrated aqueous extract of *** in flowers maximum growth inhibits all extracts against ***,***,and *** except the diluted ethyl acetate *** present in different parts of moringa have significant edible and commercial *** extracts exhibited significant antimicrobial activity,therefore have applications in pharmaceuticals.

To assess the role of some circulating miRNAs (miR-23a, miR-203, miR338, miR-34, and miR-16) as tumor markers for diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). mETHODSOne hundred and seventy-one subjects were enrolled, 57 patients with HCC, 57 patients with liver cirrhosis (LC) and 57 healthy subjects as control group. Severity of liver disease was assessed by Child Pugh score. Tumor staging was done using Okuda staging system. Quantification of micro RNA (miR-23a, miR-203, miR338, miR-34, and miR-16) was performed. RESULTSAll studied miRNA showed significant difference between HCC and cirrhotic patients in comparison to healthy control. miR-23a showed statistically significant difference between HCC and cirrhotic patients being higher in HCC group than cirrhotic. miR-23a is significantly higher in HCC patients with focal lesion size equal or more than 5 cm, patients with multiple focal lesions and Okuda stage III. At cutoff value ≥ 210, miR-23a showed accuracy 79.3% to diagnose HCC patients with sensitivity 89.47% and specificity about 64.91%. At cut off level ≥ 200 ng/mL, serum alpha fetoprotein had 73.68% sensitivity, 52.63% specificity, 43.75% PPV, 80% NPV for diagnosis of HCC. CONCLUSIONmicroRNA 23a can be used as a screening test for early detection of HCC. Also, it is related to larger size of tumour, late Okuda staging and multiple hepatic focal lesions, so it might be a prognostic biomarker.
