During the last decade,tissue engineering has shown a considerable promise in providing more viable alternatives to surgical procedures for harvested tissues,implants and *** to the fast development on nano-and biomaterial technologies,it is now possible for doctors to use patients’cells to repair orthopaedic defects such as focal articular cartilage *** order to support the three-dimensional tissue formation,scaffolds made by biocompatible and bioresorbable polymers and composite materials,for providing temporary support of damaged body and cell structures,have been developed *** ceramic and metallic materials have been widely accepted for the development of implants,their non-resorbability and necessity of second surgical operation(like for bone repair),which induce extra pain for the patients,limit their wide *** development of different types of biocomposites for biomedical engineering applications is *** biocomposites include(i)basic biomaterials;(ii)natural fiber-reinforced biocomposites and(iii)nanoparticle-reinforced *** multifunctionality is discussed in terms of the control of mechanical properties,biodegradability and bioresorbability.

Highly selective binding of structurally similar substrates is common for biomolecular recognition,but is often challenging to realize in synthetic ***,we report highly selective binding of methyl viologen over other analogues by an endo-functionalized naphthobox.X-ray single crystal structure and Density Functional Theory(DFT)calculations revealed that the endo-functionalized groups in the cavity of the naphthobox is important for the high binding selectivity through the formation of multiple C-H…N,C-H…π,andπ…πinteractions with methyl viologen.

The theory of frames has been actively developed by many authors over the past two decades, both for its applications to signal processing, and for its deep connections to other areas of mathematics such as operator theory. Central to the study of frames is the frame operator. We initiate an investigation that extends the frame operator to the bilinear setting.

Forecasting wind structure of tropical cyclone(TC)is vital in assessment of impact due to high winds using Numerical Weather Prediction(NWP)*** usual verification technique on TC wind structure forecasts are based on grid-to-grid comparisons between forecast field and the actual ***,precision of traditional verification measures is easily affected by small scale errors and thus cannot well discriminate the accuracy or effectiveness of NWP model *** this study,the Method for Object-Based Diagnostic Evaluation(MODE),which has been widely adopted in verifying precipitation fields,is utilized in TC’s wind field verification for the first *** TC wind field forecast of deterministic NWP model and Ensemble Prediction System(EPS)of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF)over the western North Pacific and the South China Sea in 2020 were evaluated.A MODE score of 0.5 is used as a threshold value to represent a skillful(or good)*** is found that the R34(radius of 34 knots)wind field structure forecasts within 72 h are good regardless of DET or *** performance of R50 and R64 is slightly worse but the R50 forecasts within 48 h remain good,with MODE exceeded *** R64forecast within 48 h are worth for reference as well with MODE of around *** study states that the TC wind field structure forecast by ECMWF is skillful for TCs over the western North Pacific and the South China Sea.

AIM To explore and to analyze the patterns in decisionmaking by pediatric gastroenterologists in managing a child with a suspected diagnosis of functional gallbladder disorder(FGBD).METHODS The questionnaire survey included a case history with right upper quadrant pain and was sent to pediatric gastroenterologists worldwide via an internet list server called the PEDGI Bulletin *** Differences in decision-making among respondents in managing this case were observed at each level of investigations and ***-scintigraphy scan(CCK-CS) was the most common investigation followed by an endoscopy.A proton pump inhibitor was most commonly prescribed treating the *** majority of respondents considered a referral for a surgical evaluation when CCK-CS showed a decreased gallbladder ejection fraction(GBEF) value with biliary-type pain during CCK *** CCK infusion rate in CCK-CS-CS and GBEF cut-off limits were inconsistent throughout *** criteria for a referral to a surgeon were not uniform from one practitioner to another.A multidisciplinary team approach with pediatric gastroenterologists and surgeons is required guide the decision-making managing a child with suspected FGBD.

omprehensive Summary,Polymetallaynes are a promising branch of metallopolymers,in which the introduction of metal building blocks to organic conjugated backbones leads to their unique skeletons and versatile ***,the chemical structures,geometric configurations and functional properties in these organometallic systems can be adjusted flexibly by the appropriate selection of metal centers,auxiliary ligands,or bridging *** recent years,both one-dimensional and two-dimensional polymetallaynes have attracted considerable attention owing to their excellent electronic,optical and magnetic ***,the studies on molecular metallaynes provide substantial insights for the exploration of the structure-property-activity relationships in these organometallic acetylide-containing *** recent research progress of polymeric and molecular metallaynes containing platinum,mercury and gold is discussed in this article.A series of functional properties have been realized in these acetylide-containing compounds by the rational structural design and refined synthetic strategies,leading to their emerging applications including energy conversion,nonlinear optics,data storage and memory,as well as chemo/biosensing.
