This study presents a rapid and versatile low-cost sample-to-answer system for SARS-CoV-2 *** system integrates the extraction and purification of nucleic acids,followed by amplification via either reverse transcriptionquantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT–qPCR)or reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification(RT–LAmP).By meeting diverse diagnostic and reagent needs,the platform yields testing results that closely align with those of commercial RT-LAmP and RT‒qPCR *** advantages of our system include its speed and *** assay is completed within 28 min,including sample loading(5 min),ribonucleic acid(RNA)extraction(3 min),and RT-LAmP(20 min).The cost of each assay is≈$9.5,and this pricing is competitive against that of Food and Drug Administration(FDA)-approved commercial *** some RNA loss during on-chip extraction is observed,the platform maintains a potential limit of detection lower than 297 *** makes the system particularly useful in environments where centralized laboratories are either unavailable or inconveniently *** key feature is the platform’s versatility,allowing users to choose between RT‒qPCR or RT‒LAmP tests based on specific requirements.

试验旨在研究有机硒、无机硒及维生素E对肉鸡免疫系统的影响。试验选用130只1日龄肉鸡分为3个组,其中A和B组为试验组,各60只鸡,C组为对照组,10只鸡。A组日粮中添加有机硒和维生素E,A组又细分为A1、A2、A3、A4、A5和A6组,其中有机硒的添加量分别为0.25、0.25、0.5、0.5、1.0和1.0 mg/kg,维生素E的添加量为0、200、0、200、0和200 IU/kg。B组日粮中添加无机硒和维生素E,也分为B1、B2、B3、B4、B5和B6组,其中无机硒的添加量分别为0.25、0.25、0.5、0.5、1.0和1.0 mg/kg,维生素E的添加量为0、200、0、200、0和200 IU/kg。C组为对照组,饲料中不添加硒和维生素E。检测指标包括新城疫病毒(HI)抗体滴度、免疫器官的病理变化、免疫器官指数和生长性能。试验结果表明,日粮中加入有机硒后,能提高肉鸡免疫力,效果优于添加无机硒;同时,硒与维生素E配合使用的效果优于单一添加硒。

Secondary forests and human-made forest gaps are conspicuous features of tropical ***,behavioral responses to these aspects of anthropogenically modified forests remain poorly ***,we analyze the effects of small human-made clearings and secondary forests on tropical bats by examining the guild-and species-level activity patterns of phyllostomids sampled in the Central Amazon,***,we contrast the temporal activity patterns and degree of temporal overlap of 6 frugivorous and 4 gleaning animalivorous species in old-growth forest and second-growth forest and of 4 frugivores in old-growth forest and forest *** activity patterns of frugivores and gleaning animalivores did not change between old-growth forest and second-growth,nor did the activity patterns of frugivores between old-growth forest and ***,at the species level,we detected significant differences for Artibeus obscurus(old-growth forest ***-growth)and ***(old-growth forest ***).The degree of temporal overlap was greater than random in all sampled ***,for frugivorous species,the degree of temporal overlap was similar between old-growth forest and second-growth;whereas for gleaning animalivores,it was lower in second-growth than in old-growth *** the contrary,forest clearings were characterized by increased temporal overlap between *** in activity patterns and temporal overlap may result from differential foraging opportunities and dissimilar predation ***,our analyses suggest that activity patterns of bats in second-growth and small forest clearings,2 of the most prominent habitats in humanized tropical landscapes,varies little from the activity patterns in old-growth forest.

All-optical forward-viewing photoacoustic probe for high-resolution 3D endoscopy

A miniature forward-viewing endoscopic probe that provides high-resolution 3D photoacoustic images is *** probe is of outer diameter 3.2mm and comprised of a transparent Fabry-Pérot(FP)polymer-film ultrasound sensor that is located at the distal end of a rigid optical fiber *** laser pulses are coupled simultaneously into all cores of the bundle and are transmitted through the FP sensor to provide wide-field tissue illumination at the distal *** resulting photoacoustic waves are mapped in 2D by sequentially scanning the input end of the bundle with an interrogation laser beam in order to individually address different points on the FP *** this way,the sensor acts as a high-density ultrasound array that is comprised of 50,000 individual elements,each of which is 12μm in diameter,within the 3.2mm diameter footprint of the *** fine spatial sampling that this affords,along with the wide bandwidth(f_(-3dB)=34 mHz)of the sensor,enables a high-resolution photoacoustic image to be *** measured on-axis lateral resolution of the probe was depth-dependent and ranged from 45-170μm for depths between 1 and 7 mm,and the vertical resolution was 31μm over the same depth *** system was evaluated by acquiring 3D images of absorbing phantoms and the microvascular anatomies of a duck embryo and mouse *** image fidelity was *** is anticipated that this type of probe could find application as a tool for guiding laparoscopic procedures,fetal surgery and other minimally invasive interventions that require a millimeter-scale forward-viewing 3D photoacoustic imaging probe.

High-frequency ultrasound imaging can provide exquisite visualizations of tissue to guide minimally invasive ***,we demonstrate that an all-optical ultrasound transducer,through which light guided by optical fibers is used to generate and receive ultrasound,is suitable for real-time invasive medical imaging in ***-bandwidth ultrasound generation was achieved through the photoacoustic excitation of a multiwalled carbon nanotube-polydimethylsiloxane composite coating on the distal end of a 300-μm multi-mode optical fiber by a pulsed *** interrogation of a high-finesse Fabry–Pérot cavity on a single-mode optical fiber by a wavelength-tunable continuous-wave laser was applied for ultrasound *** transducer was integrated within a custom inner transseptal needle(diameter 1.08 mm;length 78 cm)that included a metallic septum to acoustically isolate the two optical *** use of this needle within the beating heart of a pig provided unprecedented realtime views(50 Hz scan rate)of cardiac tissue(depth:2.5 cm;axial resolution:64μm)and revealed the critical anatomical structures required to safely perform a transseptal crossing:the right and left atrial walls,the right atrial appendage,and the limbus fossae *** new paradigm will allow ultrasound imaging to be integrated into a broad range of minimally invasive devices in different clinical contexts.

Optical and Infrared Photometric Study of Old Open Star Cluster Berkeley 39

In this paper we present astrophysical parameters of the very old open star cluster Berkeley 39 using 2mASS JHK data and observation of BV CCD photometry (V ~ 21.5 mag) in Johnson-Cousin filters. We have derived reddening, distance, metallicity and age etc. using two color diagrams in near-infrared and optical bands. We have found EB-V = 0.099 ± 0.02, ej-H = 0.018 ± 0.001 and ej-Ks = 0.016 ± 0.001 mag, and the distance modulus of (m-m) 0 = 13.24 ± 0.03 mag, which give a distance of 4.2 ± 0.04 Kpc, and the age of the cluster is 5.6 Gyr with metallicity;z = 0.008 (obtained from fitting of the observed CmDs with Padova iso-chrones). The radius of the cluster obtained from the analysis of 2mASS data is equal 9.0 ± 0.13 arc minutes;it reflects that the cluster have large radius with new cluster center. Luminosity and mass functions have been investigated as well as the dynamical relaxation time of the cluster Berkeley 39.
