Coronary arteries supply blood and nutrients to the heart. Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) develops by narrowing of the arteries. Once the inner walls of the arteries are damaged, fatty deposits made of cells, connective tissue elements, lipids and debris decrease their lumens which block blood flow to distal tissues. This process is called arteriosclerosis. This study intends to detect the composition of human coronary atheroma collected from the arteries during bypass surgeries in Bangladesh. It shows that all lesions are present in the advanced types, namely, type 4, 5 and 6. Infrequently thrombotic materials and necrotic debris were found in type 6 plaque. The mean length of plaque was 3.36 ± 1.71 cm and mean weight was 0.13 ± 0.12 gm. Insufficient lipid was obtained from each atheroma. Few raised areas were lipid laden whereas most of the strands were fibrous. Biochemical assessment was formidable. The cholesterol composition of coronary plaque ranged between 0.20% - 9.83% with mean 3.06% ± 2.09% and total fatty acids ranged between 0.47% - 3.04% with mean 1.31% ± 0.63%. The most abundant fatty acid was oleic acid (unsaturated) closely followed by palmitic acid (saturated). The mean calcium content was 41,180.20 ± 34,918.59 ppm and ranged from 1148.00 - 140,311.00 ppm or, 0.115% - 14.031%. This study was undertaken to detect the composition of human coronary atheroma in Bangladesh which revealed that it depended upon the type of lesion.

This work explores the potential of a triple combination of meropenem(MEM),a novel metallo-blactamase(MBL)inhibitor(indole-2-carboxylate 58(InC58)),and a serine-b-lactamase(SBL)inhibitor(avibactam(AVI))for broad-spectrum activity against carbapenemase-producing bacteria.A diverse panel comprising MBL-and SBL-producing strains was used for susceptibility testing of the triple combination using the agar dilution *** frequency of resistance(FoR)to MEM combined with InC58 was *** were sequenced and tested for cross resistance,fitness,and the stability of the resistance *** with the double combinations of MEM plus an SBL or MBL inhibitor,the triple combination extended the spectrum of activity to most of the isolates bearing SBLs(oxacillinase-48(OXA-48)and Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase-2(KPC-2))and MBLs(New Delhi metallo-blactamases(NDMs)),although it was not effective against Verona integron-encoded metallo-blactamase(VIM)-carrying Pseudomonas aeruginosa(***)and OXA-23-carrying Acinetobacter baumannii(***).The FoR to MEM plus InC58 ranged from 2.22×10^(-7)to 1.13×10^(-6).The resistance correlated with mutations to ompC and comR,affecting porin C and copper permeability,*** mutants manifested a fitness cost,a decreased level of resistance during passage without antibiotic pressure,and cross resistance to another carbapenem(imipenem)and a b-lactamase inhibitor(taniborbactam).In conclusion,compared with the dual combinations,the triple combination of MEM with InC58 and AVI showed a much wider spectrum of activity against different carbapenemaseproducing bacteria,revealing a new strategy to combat b-lactamase-mediated antimicrobial resistance.

Two novel improved variants of reptile search algorithm(RSA),RSA with opposition-based learning(ORSA)and hybrid ORSA with pattern search(ORSAPS),are proposed to determine the proportional,integral,and derivative(PID)controller parameters of an automatic voltage regulator(AVR)system using a novel objective function with augmented *** the proposed algorithms,the opposition-based learning technique improves the global search abilities of the original RSA algorithm,while the hybridization with the pattern search(PS)algorithm improves the local search *** algorithms are compared with the original RSA algorithm and have shown to be highly effective algorithms for tuning the PID controller parameters of an AVR system by getting superior *** analyses such as transient,stability,robustness,disturbance rejection,and trajectory tracking are conducted to test the performance of the proposed algorithms,which have validated the good promise of the proposed methods for controller *** performances of the proposed design approaches are also compared with the previously reported PID controller parameter tuning approaches to assess their *** is shown that both proposed approaches obtain excellent and robust results among all compared *** is,with the adjustment of the weight factorα,which is introduced by the proposed objective function,for a system with high bandwitdh(α=1),the proposed ORSAPS-PID system has 2.08%more bandwidth than the proposed ORSA-PID system and 5.1%faster than the fastest algorithm from the *** the other hand,for a system where high phase and gain margins are desired(α=10),the proposed ORSA-PID system has 0.53%more phase margin and 2.18%more gain margin than the proposed ORSAPS-PID system and has 0.71%more phase margin and 2.25%more gain margin than the best performing algorithm from the literature.

Our analysis presents an explanation of the Sun–Earth coupling mechanism during declining phase of a solar cycle,and how the dominant 13.5 and 27 day periods play roles in the coupling mechanism which led to intense terrestrial magnetic storms during this declining phase compared to the rising phase of a solar ***,it is observed that while the 27 day period gets strongly modulated in the rising phase,the 13.5 day period modulation is more prominent during the declining *** is suggested that out of the 27 and 13.5 day periods of Sun–Earth interaction,the preferred period of modulation happens to be the one which is more dominant for the less random or quieter system participating in the *** is reported for the first time that the 13.5 day period is more prominent in the Sun–Earth interaction during the declining phase of a solar cycle,as it is the most dominant period of Earth's magnetic system,which happens to be more persistent as a dynamical system and hence quieter or more receptive than the Sun.

Zero correlation zone(ZCZ) sequences and Golay complementary sequences are two kinds of sequences with different preferable correlation ***-ZCZ sequences are special kinds of complementary sequences which also possess a large ZCZ and are good candidates for pilots in OFDM systems. Known GolayZCZ sequences reported in the literature have a limitation in the length which is the form of a power of 2. In this paper, we propose two constructions of Golay-ZCZ sequence sets with new parameters which generalize the constructions of Gong et al.(IEEE Trans. Commun., 61(9),2013) and Chen et al.(IEEE Trans. Commun., 66(11), 2018).Notably, one of the two constructions generates optimal binary Golay-ZCZ sequences, while the other generates asymptotically optimal polyphase Golay-ZCZ sequences as the number of sequences increases. We also show, through numerical simulations, the applicability of the proposed Golay-ZCZ sequences in inter-symbol interference channel estimation. Interestingly, in certain application scenarios, the proposed Golay-ZCZ sequences performs better as compared to the existing state-of-the-art sequences.

Influence of Organic and Inorganic Fertilizers on Floating Bed Cultivation of Okra and Cucumber during Summer Season in Southern Part of Bangladesh

Some trails were carried out with a view to evaluate the performances of organic and inorganic fertilizers on growth and yield of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) and cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) in floating bed cultivation applying water hyacinth in 2014 and 2015 at Gopalpur union under Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj district in Bangladesh. The single factor experiment was conducted following Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) involving four treatments with three replications viz. T1: control (without organic and inorganic fertilizer), T2: cow dung, T3: recommended dose of NPK and T4: 50% cow dung + 50% recommended dose of NPK. Different growth parameters in respect of okra grown in 2014 and 2015, the longest plant height (171.73 cm and 164.03 cm), maximum number of branches (5.67 and 5.67) and leaves (60.33 and 69.67) were found in the treatment T3. Regarding yield parameters, significantly higher number of fruits plant-1, fruit length (cm), fruit diameter (cm), individual fruit weight (g), fruits weight plant-1 (g) and yield (t·ha-1) were 24.00 & 23.33, 16.61 & 16.59 cm, 6.01 & 6.17 cm, 23.47 & 24.74 g, 617.33 & 660.33 g, 13.01 & 13.21 t·ha-1 obtained respectively grown in 2014 and 2015 by applying the treatment T3 were identically similar with those in receiving the treatment T4. The lowest output was recorded in control in both seasons for all the cases. Similar trend of growth and yield were also observed during the cultivation of cucumber under the same treatment conditions in both the seasons. Results revealed that there was no identical differences in growth and yield attributes in between the treatments T3 and T4, where as the production cost was subjected to lower in T4 compare to T3. Objective:To evaluate the effect of Shilajit,a medicine of Ayurveda,on the serum changes in cytokines and adipokines caused by non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods:After establishing fatty liver models by feeding a high-fat diet(HFD)for 12 weeks,35 Wistar male rats were randomly divided into5 groups,including control(standard diet),Veh(HFD+vehicle),high-dose Shilajit[H-Sh,HFD+250 mg/(kg·d)Shilajit],low-dose Shilajit[L-Sh,HFD+150 mg/(kg·d)Shilajit],and pioglitazone[HFD+10 mg/(kg·d)pioglitazone]groups,7 rats in each *** 2-week of gavage administration,serum levels of glucose,insulin,interleukin1 beta(IL-1β),IL-6,IL-10,tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),adiponectin,and resistin were measured,and insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR)was ***:After NAFLD induction,the serum level of IL-10 significantly increased and serum IL-1β,TNF-αlevels significantly decreased by injection of both doses of Shilajit and pioglitazone(P<0.05).Increases in serum glucose level and homeostasis model of HOMA-IR were reduced by L-Sh and H-Sh treatment in NAFLD rats(P<0.05).Both doses of Shilajit increased adiponectin and decreased serum resistin levels(P<0.05).Conclusion:The probable protective role of Shilajit in NAFLD model rats may be via modulating the serum levels of IL-1β,TNF-α,IL-10,adipokine and resistin,and reducing of HOMA-IR.
