Dear Editor,Infectious bursal disease (IBD) is one of the most important diseases of the poultry. Infectious bursal disease(IBD),caused by IBD virus(IBDV),is one of the most devastating and immunosuppressive diseases of the poultry and has been a constraint on the sustainable poultry production around the globe including Pakistan.While the disease is threatening the poulty industry,the nature of predominant strains of IBDV in Pakistan remained l-defined.In this study,an epidemiology survey was conducted in the main chicken-farming regions of Pakistan.The batch of Pakistan IBDVs genes simultaneously covering both VP1 and VP2 were amplified,sequenced,and analyzed.The unique segment-reassortant IBDVs(vv-A/Uniq-B),carrying segmentA from vvIBDV and segment B from one unique ancestor,were identifed as one important type of circulating strains in Pakistan.The data also discovered the characteristic molecular features of Pakistan IBDVs,which will contribute to scientific vaccine selection and effective prevention of the disease.

Robust zero-watermarking algorithm based on discrete wavelet transform and daisy descriptors for encrypted medical image

In the intricate network environment,the secure transmission of medical images faces challenges such as information leakage and malicious tampering,significantly impacting the accuracy of disease diagnoses by medical professionals.To address this problem,the authors propose a robust feature watermarking algorithm for encrypted medical images based on multi-stage discrete wavelet transform(DWT),Daisy descriptor,and discrete cosine transform(DCT).The algorithm initially encrypts the original medical image through DWT-DCT and Logistic mapping.Subsequently,a 3-stage DWT transformation is applied to the encrypted medical image,with the centre point of the LL3 sub-band within its low-frequency component serving as the sampling point.The Daisy descriptor matrix for this point is then computed.Finally,a DCT transformation is performed on the Daisy descriptor matrix,and the low-frequency portion is processed using the perceptual hashing algorithm to generate a 32-bit binary feature vector for the medical image.This scheme utilises cryptographic knowledge and zero-watermarking technique to embed watermarks without modifying medical images and can extract the watermark from test images without the original image,which meets the basic re-quirements of medical image watermarking.The embedding and extraction of water-marks are accomplished in a mere 0.160 and 0.411s,respectively,with minimal computational overhead.Simulation results demonstrate the robustness of the algorithm against both conventional attacks and geometric attacks,with a notable performance in resisting rotation attacks.

BACKGROUND Lipid treatment practices and levels in post-acute myocardial infarction(AMI)patients,which are crucial for secondary prevention.AIM To evaluate the lipid treatment practices and lipid levels in post-myocardial infarction(MI)patients at a tertiary care hospital in Pakistan.METHODS In this cross-sectional study,we analyzed patients who had experienced their first AMI event in the past 3 years.We assessed fasting and non-fasting lipid profiles,reviewed statin therapy prescriptions,and examined patient compliance.The recommended dose was defined as rosuvastatin≥20 mg or atorvastatin≥40 mg,with target total cholesterol levels set at<160 mg/dL and target low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)at<55 mg/dL.RESULTS Among 195 patients,71.3%were male,and the mean age was 57.1±10.2 years.The median duration since AMI was 36(interquartile range:10-48)months and 60% were diagnosed with ST-segment elevation MI.Only 13.8% of patients were advised to undergo lipid profile testing after AMI,88.7% of patients were on the recommended statin therapy,and 91.8% of patients were compliant with statin therapy.Only 11.5% had LDL-C within the target range and 71.7% had total cholesterol within the target range.Hospital admission in the past 12 months was reported by 14.4%,and the readmission rate was significantly higher among non-compliant patients(37.5%vs 5.6%).Subsequent AMI event rate was also significantly higher among non-compliant patients(43.8%vs 11.7%).CONCLUSION Our study highlights that while most post-AMI patients received the recommended minimum statin therapy dose,the inadequate practice of lipid assessment may compromise therapy optimization and raise the risk of subsequent events.

Cerium oxide（CeO）based catalyst have emerged as promising materials for the catalytic hydrogenation of carbon dioxide（CO）,a vital process in the quest to mitigate climate change and produce valuable chemicals and fuels.It provides a critical development in CeO-based catalysts for COhydrogenation.The unique specification of CeO,such as high oxygen storage capacity,redox properties,and surface oxygen vacancies,make it an excellent candidate for COhydrogenation.The interplay between CeOand COpromotes the activation of CO,facilitating its conversion to valuable products.Additionally,the synergistic effects of metal nanoparticles,typically supported on CeO,further enhance catalytic performance.The crucial factors influencing CeO-based catalyst activity include metal loading,type,support morphology,and reaction conditions.It highlights the various reaction pathways,such as the hydrogenation of carbon dioxide（CO）to methane（CH）and Ethane（CH）,elucidating the role of CeOin promoting specific product selectivity.Furthermore,the abstract touches upon the challenges and prospects of CeO-based catalysts for COhydrogenation,including catalyst stability,poisoning,and potential applications in renewable energy and chemical synthesis.Innovative techniques,such as advanced characterization methods and catalyst design,are essential to address these challenges and unlock the full potential of CeO-based catalysts.In conclusion,CeO-based catalysts have shown great promise in COhydrogenation,with their exceptional properties and tenability offering a path towards sustainable carbon utilization.Further R&D in this area is essential to harness the full potential of CeO-based catalysts and contribute to a greener and more sustainable future.

Point-of-care ultrasonography(POCUS),particularly venous excess ultrasound(VExUS)is emerging as a valuable bedside tool to gain real-time hemodynamic insights.This modality,derived from hepatic vein,portal vein,and intrarenal vessel Doppler patterns,offers a scoring system for dynamic venous congestion assessment.Such an assessment can be crucial in effective management of patients with heart failure exacerbation.It facilitates diagnosis,quantification of congestion,prognostication,and monitoring the efficacy of decongestive therapy.As such,it can effectively help to manage cardiorenal syndromes in various clinical settings.Extended or eVExUS explores additional veins,potentially broadening its applications.While VExUS demonstrates promising outcomes,challenges persist,particularly in cases involving renal and liver parenchymal disease,arrhythmias,and situations of pressure and volume overload overlap.Proficiency in utilizing spectral Doppler is pivotal for clinicians to effectively employ this tool.Hence,the integration of POCUS,especially advanced applications like VExUS,into routine clinical practice necessitates enhanced training across medical specialties.

芒果MiERF3基因的克隆及表达分析

芒果(Mangifera indica L.)是海南省重要的热带水果之一，呼吸跃变型水果，乙烯在芒果后熟过程中扮演着至关重要的角色。研究指出，ERF转录因子是乙烯信号通路的关键下游成分，作为最大的转录因子家族之一，起到调节信号传导和生理反应的作用。为了探究ERF转录因子对采后芒果果皮色泽的影响，本研究以‘贵妃’芒果为研究对象，通过PCR克隆得到MiERF3基因，利用生物信息学方法分析MiERF3的基本理化特征、保守结构域、蛋白质结构、进化关系等；利用实时荧光定量PCR(qRT-PCR)技术分别对MiERF3基因在芒果不同组织部位和采后贮藏时期的特异性表达进行分析。结果可得，MiERF3长度为717 bp，编码238个氨基酸，蛋白分子式为C1130H1763N339O355S9，分子量为26.066 kDa，理论等电点为8.62，带30个正电残基，带27个负电残基，蛋白具有亲水性，结构不稳定；MiERF3蛋白不含信号肽，不含跨膜区域，磷酸化修饰以苏氨酸为主，包含一个AP2保守结构域，二级结构以61.67%的无规卷曲为主，还含有27.75%的α螺旋、3.96%的β折叠、6.61%的延长链，其三维结构模型包含有β折叠3个和α螺旋1个，符合AP2结构域的特征；多序列比对和motif分析结果表明MiERF3蛋白属于ERF亚家族成员；系统进化树分析结果表明与MiERF3蛋白亲缘关系最近的是同为漆树科植物的阿月浑子PvERF3-like；洋葱亚细胞定位及转录自激活检测结果显示MiERF3蛋白定位于细胞核且具有转录自激活活性；实时荧光定量分析表明，MiERF3基因的表达量在不同芒果部位表达情况不同，其中在芒果果实阳面果皮的表达量最高；且在芒果贮藏期间，其表达量有明显的先增后减的趋势，故而猜测MiERF3在果实成熟转色过程中起正调控作用。本研究为揭示ERF转录因子在芒果采后成熟衰老过程中的调控作用提供理论依据。

荔枝（Litchi chinensis Sonn.）是亚热带地区重要的经济作物之一，但荔枝采后难贮存、易褐变，是目前保鲜过程中存在的最大问题之一。WRKY家族是植物中常见的一类转录因子，主要调控植物的逆境胁迫响应以及成熟衰老等生理过程。为了探究WRKY对采后荔枝果实成熟衰老的影响，本研究以‘妃子笑’荔枝为试验对象，克隆出LcWRKY47基因，长度为1077 bp;LcWRKY47蛋白中含有WRKY保守结构域，二级结构以无规则卷曲为主，占比65.64%，三级结构主要为无规则卷曲和α螺旋。通过motif分析及多序列比对，发现LcWRKY47蛋白属于第Ⅱ类WRKY转录因子；系统进化分析树表明荔枝LcWRKY47与同为无患子科的龙眼DlWRKY47亲缘关系最近；亚细胞定位实验表明，LcWRKY47蛋白定位在细胞核中；RTqPCR分析表明，2 mmol/L草酸处理后LcWRKY47基因在荔枝果皮和果肉中的表达趋势相同，均先升后降，后期处理组表达量均显著高于对照组，推测草酸处理后该转录因子在荔枝果实成熟衰老过程中起正调控作用。过表达LcWRKY47基因发现，转基因果实中LcWRKY47的表达量显著高于对照果实，且转基因荔枝衰老褐变情况明显优于处理组。综上推测，LcWRKY47转录因子可能在荔枝衰老与褐变过程中起着一定的调节作用。

The investigation of exact solitary wave solutions to the nonlinear partial differential equation plays an important role to understand any physical phenomena in diverse applied fields.The current work is re-lated to the most prominent nonlinear model named as the van der Waals normal form that appeared naturally and also industrially for the granular materials.In oceanography,the sea ice,sand and snow are some examples of aforesaid matter among others.We employ two novel integration approaches named as the simplest equation method and the exp a function method to explore the above mentioned van der Waals model.As a backlash,many new solitary waves and other exact solutions are retrieved.The ob-tained results depict that the used approaches are simple and effective to deal with nonlinear models.Also,the numerical simulation of some solutions via two and three dimension graphical configurations are presented for certainty and exactness.

BACKGROUND In severe cases of coronary artery disease,percutaneous coronary intervention provide promising results.The stent used could be a drug-eluting stent(DES)or a titanium-nitride-oxide coated stent(TiNOS).AIM To compare the 5-year effectiveness and safety of the two stent types.METHODS The following systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted in accordance with the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis guidelines,and PubMed/MEDLINE,Scopus,and Cochrane Central were searched from inception till August 2023.Primary outcomes were major adverse cardiac events(MACE),cardiac death,myocardial infarction(MI),cardiac death or MI,and ischemia-driven total lesion revascularization(ID-TLR).RESULTS Four randomized controlled trials(RCT),which analyzed a sum total of 3045 patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS)after a median follow-up time of 5 years were included.Though statistically insignificant,an increase in the ID-TLR was observed in patients receiving TiNOSs vs DESs.In addition,MI,cardiac death and MI,and definite stent thrombosis(DST)were significantly decreased in the TiNOS arm.Baseline analysis revealed no significant results with meta-regression presenting non-ST elevated MI(NSTEMI)as a statistically significant covariate in the outcome of MACE.CONCLUSION TiNOS was found to be superior to DES in terms of MI,cardiac death or MI,and DST outcomes,however,the effect of the two stent types on ID-TLR and MACE was not significant.A greater number of studies are required to establish an accurate comparison of patient outcomes in TiNOS and DES.
