As a bone scaffold,meeting all basic requirements besides dealing with other bone-related issues-bone cancer and accelerated regeneration-is not expected from traditional scaffolds,but a newer class of scaffolds called *** a clinical point of view,being a multifunctional scaffold means reducing in healing time,direct costs-medicine,surgery,and hospitalization-and indirect costs-loss of mobility,losing job,and *** main aim of the present review is following the multifunctional bone scaffolds trend to deal with both bone regeneration and cancer *** consideration is given to different fabrication techniques which have been applied to yield these materials spanning from traditional to modern ***,the hierarchical structure of bone plus bone cancers and available medicines to them are introduced to familiarize the potential reader of review with the pluri-disciplinary essence of the ***,a brief discussion relating to the future trend of these materials is provided.

Recently,the term theragenerative has been proposed for biomaterials capable of inducing therapeutic approaches followed by repairing/regenerating the tissue/*** study is focused on the design of a new theragenerative nanocomposite composed of an amphiphilic non-ionic surfactant(Pluronic F127),bioactive glass(BG),and black phosphorus(BP).The nanocomposite was prepared through a two-step synthetic strategy,including a microwave treatment that turned BP nanosheets(BPNS)into quantum dots(BPQDs)with 5±2 nm dimensions in *** effects of surfactant and microwave treatment were assessed in vitro:the surfactant distributes the ions homogenously throughout the composite and the microwave treatment chemically stabilizes the *** presence of BP enhanced bioactivity and promoted calcium phosphate formation in simulated body *** inherent anticancer activity of BP-containing nanocomposites was tested against osteosarcoma cells in vitro,finding that 150μg mL^(-1)was the lowest concentration which prevented the proliferation of SAOS-2 cells,while the counterpart without BP did not affect the cell growth ***,the apoptosis pathways were evaluated and a mechanism of action was *** irradiation was applied to induce further proliferation suppression on SAOS-2 cells through *** inhibitory effects of bare BP nanomaterials and nanocomposites on the migration and invasion of bone cancer,breast cancer,and prostate cancer cells were assessed in vitro to determine the anticancer potential of nanomaterials against primary and secondary bone *** regenerative behavior of the nanocomposites was tested with healthy osteoblasts and human mesenchymal stem cells;the BPQDs-incorporated nanocomposite significantly promoted the proliferation of osteoblast cells and induced the osteogenic differentiation of stem *** study introduces a new multifunctional theragenerative platform with promising potential for simultaneous bone cancer t

Bones are organs of the skeletal system, providing shape, mechanical support, and protection to the body and facilitating the movement. In addition, bones contribute to the mineral homeostasis of the body and have recently been found to participate in endocrine regulation of energy metabolism. The well-known limitations associated with clinical use of autografts and allografts continue to drive efforts to develop bone graft substitutes, using the principles of biomaterials and tissue engineering. In dry flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems the sorbent (usually slaked lime,limestone ordolomite) is injected directly into the furnace,into the ductwork after the furnace an lower temperature.,or into a spray dryer *** these processes produce a dry by-product which is removed in theparticulate control equipment,as opposed to wet scrubber system in which the by-product is a slurrycollected separately from the fly *** FGD scrubber by-products from lime or limestone injected directly into the furnace such asthird bed combustion (FBC) and LIMB (lime injected multistage burners) systems,have neutralization,sorption,and cementation propertics that make them potential reagents for hazardous and non-hazardouswaste stabilization because the dry sorbent by-products have high free quicklime (CaO) contents andanhydrous calcium sulfate (CaSO) *** solidification reactions can take place,includinghydration,carbonation,pozzolanic activity and ettringite *** lime injection scrubber by-products such as from duct injection or spray dryer processes maynot be as effective for solidification because the free lime and calcium sulfite and sulfate are hydrateddue to humidification of the gas *** and physical properness of dry by-products from a number of sources for use asstabilization reagents are discussed as well as the reasons for differences among various *** will be made with other by-products,including class C and class F coal fly ash,cementkiln dust and lime kiln *** clean coal technologies using high sulfur coal reacted with lime or limestone had TCLPleachate concentrations of the 8 RCRA toxic metal elements that were low and very close to USEP Adrinking water *** stories involving the use of these materials for stabilization of toxic metals and some oilywastes have been reported and further suggestions are made for beneficial re-use.
