Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is an increasingly common and the second leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide with a 5-year survival rate about 12%.Less than 20%of HCC patients are eligible to curative treatment owing to the late ***,there is a need for a readily accessible,early screening *** scoping review critically appraises and synthesizes the current published knowledge about the use of exhaled volatile organic compounds(VOCs)as a potential noninvasive means for HCC detection aiming to advance this nascent field.A systematic electronic search was *** search strategy included all studies published until the 24th of March 2023 using a combination of relevant *** search yielded 9 publications using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses *** of the studies described in vitro experiments,and seven clinical studies were conducted on small groups of ***,42 headspace gases were analyzed in the in vitro ***,the clinical studies included 420 HCC patients and 630 *** studies reported potential role for a combination of VOCs in the diagnosis of ***,there is lack of *** there appears to be promise in VOCs research associated with HCC,there is no single volatile biomarker in exhaled breath attributed to HCC and data from extracted studies indicates a lack of *** multicentre population studies are required to verify the existence of VOCs linked to HCC.

Assessment of ecological risk(ER)is a key approach to adapting and mitigating ecological deterioration in cities of developing *** developing countries,the ecological landscapes such as vegetation cover,water bodies,and wetlands are highly vulnerable due to rapid urban ***,urban ER(UER)assessment and its drivers are crucial to guide ecological protection as well as *** study aims to explore the spatiotemporal pattern of UER and the impact of urban spatial form on UER in the Kolkata Megacity Region(KMR),*** study developed a UER index and used spatial regression models across the urban *** ER has been assessed at city scale as well as grid-scale(2 km x 2 km and 5 km x 5 km)from 2000 to *** results showed that ER has substantially increased over the last 20 *** urban centres with very high and high ER substantially increased,*** 21.95%in 2000 to 31.70%in *** and its surrounding urban centres were mostly characterized by very high and high *** was influenced by spatial variables(such as land use and landscapes pattern).However,remote sensing parameters were weakly related to *** spatial lag model(SLM)(R^(2)=0.8686)was found to be better fit model than spatial error model(SEM)(R^(2)=0.8661)and ordinary linear regression model(OLS)(R^(2)=0.8641).Thus,the findings of the study can improve research and a comprehensive framework for urban ecological resources and provide a scientific basis for urban ecosystem planning and *** addition to this,it will guarantee the sustainable utilization of urban ecosystems.

The present study explores an electroreduced graphene oxide-bismuth nanoparticles composite（ErGOBi） as an electrochemical sensor for the determination of an anticancer drug, gemcitabine hydrochloride（GMB）. The Er-GOBi interface was prepared by drop casting of bismuth nitrate-graphene oxide suspension on a glassy carbon electrode（GCE） followed by electro-reduction in the potential range of 0.6 V to 1.7 V. SEM, FTIR, EDAX and AFM techniques were employed for the characterization of prepared materials. Cyclic voltammetric and electrochemical impedance spectroscopic methods were used to understand the charge transfer properties of stepwise modification of Er-GOBi/GCE. GMB exhibited an irreversible oxidation peak at 1.144 V on Er-GOBi/GCE in phosphate buffer of p H 3. A 100-fold enhanced oxidation peak current was observed at Er-GOBi/GCE when compared to that at bare *** performance of Er GO-Bi/GCE was optimized by varying peak current dependent *** relationship between the peak current and concentration of GMB was observed in the range of 0.1–51.1 mmol/L in differential pulse voltammetric method and 2.1–61.1 mmol/L in linear sweep voltammetric method. The practical utility of the proposed sensor, Er-GOBi/GCE was demonstrated by determining GMB in pharmaceutical formulations and spiked urine samples.

An analysis of the solute dispersion in the liquid flowing through a pipe by means of Aris–Barton's ‘method of moments', under the joint effect of some finite yield stress and irreversible absorption into the wall is presented in this paper. The liquid is considered as a three-layer liquid where the center region is Casson liquid surrounded by Newtonian liquid layer. A significant change from previous modelling exercises in the study of hydrodynamic dispersion, different molecular diffusivity has been considered for the different region yet to be constant. For all time period, finite difference implicit scheme has been adopted to solve the integral moment equation arising from the unsteady convective diffusion equation. The purpose of the study is to find the dependency of solute transport coefficients on absorption parameter, yield stress, viscosity ratio, peripheral layer variation and in addition with various diffusivity coefficients in different liquid layers. This kind of study may be useful for understanding the dispersion process in the blood flow analysis.

A carbon paste modified sensor based on a novel composite of zinc oxide nanoparticles deposited on reduced graphene oxide(ZnO-rGrO) and Prussian blue(PB) was drop-cast(ZnO-rGrO-PB/MCPE) for the sensitive estimation of Rutin(Rtn) at pH *** high surface area of ZnO-rGrO and electrocatalytic property of PB promotes the oxidation of Rtn. Field emission scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX) techniques were employed to confirm the deposition of ZnO-rGrO and PB on carbon paste electrode(CPE). The ability of ZnO-rGrO-PB/MCPE in charge transfer at the interface was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS). The heterogeneous rate constant(ks) and the charge transfer coefficient(α) have been calculated as 6.08 s^(-1) and 0.74 respectively. This sensor showed a wide linear response for Rtn from 7.0×10^(-8)to 7.0×10^(-6) M and 7.0×10^(-6) to 1.0×10^(-4) M with a limit of detection(2.05±0.04)×10^(-8) M(S/N=3). The application of ZnO-rGrO-PB/MCPE was found in the analysis of Rtn in fruit juice samples using standard addition method. This sensor showed good reproducibility, stability, selectivity and sensitivity.

Coastal regions are highly susceptible to the effects of global warming,including rising atmospheric and sea surface temperatures,increased cyclone frequency,and sea level ***,it is imperative to examine coastal vulnerability to minimize the impact of multiple hazards and protect coastal resources,such as *** in India studying the vulnerability of coastal zones of Andaman and Nicobar Islands which fall in seismic zone V is critical for conservation *** conducted a vulnerability analysis of coastal zones impacted by the 2004 earthquake,causing varying degrees of ground upliftment and *** compared coastal vulnerability among sites that experienced uplift,no change,and subsidence(the southern portion).Our analysis utilized the Coastal and Mangrove Vulnerability Index(CVI and MVI)to measure and compare vulnerability in six zones distributed along uplift and subsidence ***-resolution satellite imagery including WorldView-2,3,and GeoEye-1 from year 2022 are utilized on this *** CVI and MVI offers a good way to measure and compare vulnerabilities across sites and offer insights for better *** CVI and MVI results indicate that approximately 34%of coastal grids and over 23%of mangrove grids across all zones are highly to extremely highly *** zones were found to be more vulnerable than uplifted *** findings suggest that large-scale natural disturbances such as tectonic displacement have the potential to impact coastal vegetation and mangrove cover can become even more *** conclusion,our study emphasizes the importance of vulnerability analyses in coastal regions,especially in areas prone to seismic *** findings have direct implications for conservation and restoration efforts and underscore the need for continued monitoring and mitigation efforts to safeguard coastal resources for long-term sustainability.

The impact of northern Indian Ocean rivers on the Bay of Bengal using NEMO global ocean model

The effect of river runoff over the northern Indian Ocean(NIO) especially over the Bay of Bengal(Bo B) has been studied using global Nucleus for European Modelling of the Ocean(NEMO). Two sensitivity experiments, with and without river runoff are conducted and the influence of river runoff on the Indian Ocean hydrography,stratification and circulation features are studied. It is found that due to river runoff surface salinity over the northern Bo B decreases by more than 5 and the East India Coastal Current strengthens by 2 cm/s during post monsoon season. The fresh river water reaches up to 15°N in the Bo B and is the main cause for low salinity *** surface temperature in the northwestern Bo B increases by more than 0.2℃ due to the river runoff in summer monsoon while surface cooling upto 0.2℃ is seen in north-west part of Bo B in winter season. The seasonal mixed layer depth in the region is found to be dependent on river runoff. The effect of vertical shear and Brunt Vaisala frequency on stratification is also examined. The ocean water becomes highly stratified up to 3 035 m due to the river runoff. It is found that the energy required for mixing is high in the northern and coastal Bo B.

Our understanding of the microbial involvement in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) pathogenesis has increased exponentially over the past decade. The development of newer molecular tools for the global assessment of the gut microbiome and the identification of nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-containing protein 2 in 2001 and other susceptibility genes for Crohn’s disease in particular has led to better understanding of the aetiopathogenesis of IBD. The microbial studies have elaborated the normal composition of the gut microbiome and its perturbations in the setting of IBD. This altered microbiome or “dysbiosis” is a key player in the protracted course of inflammation in IBD. Numerous genome-wide association studies have identified further genes involved in gastrointestinal innate immunity (including polymorphisms in genes involved in autophagy: ATG16L1 and IGRM), which have helped elucidate the relationship of the local innate immunity with the adjacent luminal bacteria. These developments have also spurred the search for specific pathogens which may have a role in the metamorphosis of the gut microbiome from a symbiotic entity to a putative pathogenic one. Here we review advances in our understanding of microbial involvement in IBD pathogenesis over the past 10 years and offer insight into how this will shape our therapeutic management of the disease in the coming years.
