Suppression of starch synthase I(SSI) by RNA interference alters starch biosynthesis and amylopectin chain distribution in rice plants subjected to high temperature

Based on known cDNAs of rice starch synthase isoforms,we constructed dsRNA interference vectors for starch synthase I(SSI)to produce transgenic plants containing starch with a moderately high amylose *** investigated the effect of SSI suppression on grain quality traits,starch biosynthesis,and amylopectin chain distribution in rice plants exposed to two different temperature *** activities and transcripts of BEs,DBEs,and other SS isoforms were further investigated to clarify the effect of SSI suppression on these key enzymes and their specific isoforms under different temperature *** of SSI by RNAi altered grain starch component and amylopectin chain distribution,but it exerted only a slight effect on total starch content(%)and accumulation amount(mg kernel?1)and on starch granule morphology and particle size *** normal temperature(NT),insignificant differences in kernel weight,chalky kernel proportion,chalky degree,and starch granule morphology between SSI-RNAi line and its wild type(WT)were ***,amylose content(AC)level and granule-bound starch synthase(GBSS)activity in rice endosperms were markedly increased by SSI-RNAi *** chalky kernel proportion and chalky degree of SSIRNAi lines were significantly higher than those of WT under high temperature(HT)exposure at filling *** of SSI by RNAi affected amylopectin chain distribution and raised starch gelatinization temperature(GT)in two ways:directly from the SSI deficiency itself and indirectly by reducing BEIIb amounts in an SSI-deficient *** deficiency of SSI expression led to an alteration in the susceptibility of grain chalkiness occurrence and starch gelatinization temperature to HT exposure,owing to a pleiotropic effect of SSI deficiency on the expression of other genes associated with starch biosynthesis.

This article attempts to underscore the extraordinary significance of Special Eco-nomic Zones(SEZs)in the industrialization and economic growth of Pakistan as well as the development and consolidation of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC)-which is a core component of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI).Though Pakistan has previously experimented with SEZs,its scale,outreach and impact on the country's economy and society remained very ***,the proposed SEZs under the CPEC offer new opportunities for mutual economic cooperation,investment,human resource development,sustained industrialization and,above all,the consolidation of ***,there are several challenges ranging from structural issues to security problems that the proposed SEZs,in particular,and CPEC,in general,*** article,thus,provides a comprehensive set of strategies to convert challenges into capabilities.

ZnO and Cr-doped ZnO thin films are grown on to glass substrates using reactive electron beam(e-beam) evaporation *** of structural,morphological,and optical properties with Cr doping is investigated.X-ray diffraction(XRD) studies show that the films are polycrystalline in nature with single *** dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) results demonstrate that Cr ions are substitutionally incorporated into *** force microscopy(AFM) reveals that the films present a compact surface and root mean squared(RMS) roughness increased with Cr *** optical band gap energy Eg of the films has been determined using Transmission data by spectrophotometer and *** band gap energy found to be decreased with increasing Cr doping *** optical constants(refractive index,extinction coefficient) are calculated using ellipsometry and found to increase with Cr doping concentration.

Background:This study aims to investigate the extent to which the conditional volatilities of both Shari’ah compliant stock and conventional stock are related to those of interest rate and exchange rate in the emerging economy of ***:We used KMI 30 and KSE 100 indices for Islamic and conventional stock for the period of July 2008 to November *** employed Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedastic in the mean(GARCH-M)*** framework relaxes constancy assumption of classical linear regression(CLRM)model and allows exchange rate and interest rate volatility to evolve over *** GARCHM framework also reveals results about risk-return trade-off in the context of both Islamic and conventional stock ***:The findings show positive and statistically significant effect of interest rate volatility on KSE-100,whereas KMI-30 remains unaffected by the *** rate volatility is found to be significant for both conventional and Islamic *** relationship of risk coefficient(γ)and stocks returns,as expected,is positive and statistically significant for both KMI-30 and *** result is consistent with the theory of risk-return *** results of parametric t-test show significant difference between returns of both *** implies that Shari’ah compliant stock index(KMI-30)of Pakistan underperforms its conventional ***:By using different performance measures(Sharp ratio,Jensen alpha,Treynor ratio),this study also investigates the hypothesis that Islamic stock index has inferior performance compared with unscreened conventional counterparts due to availability of a smaller investment universe,increased monitoring costs,and limited diversification.

In this study,a harmonic oscillator with position-dependent mass is ***,as an introduction,we give a full description of the system by constructing its classical Lagrangian;thereupon,we derive the related classical equations of motion such as the classical Euler–Lagrange ***,we fractionalize the classical Lagrangian of the system,and then we obtain the corresponding fractional Euler–Lagrange equations(FELEs).As a final step,we give the numerical simulations corresponding to the FELEs within different fractional *** results based on the Caputo and the Atangana-Baleanu-Caputo(ABC)fractional derivatives are given to verify the theoretical analysis.

Color transfer between images uses the statistics information of image effectively. We present a novel approach of local color transfer between images based on the simple statistics and locally linear embedding. A sketching interface is proposed for quickly and easily specifying the color correspondences between target and source image. The user can specify the corre- spondences of local region using scribes, which more accurately transfers the target color to the source image while smoothly preserving the boundaries, and exhibits more natural output results. Our algorithm is not restricted to one-to-one image color transfer and can make use of more than one target images to transfer the color in different regions in the source image. Moreover, our algorithm does not require to choose the same color style and image size between source and target images. We propose the sub-sampling to reduce the computational load. Comparing with other approaches, our algorithm is much better in color blending in the input data. Our approach preserves the other color details in the source image. Various experimental results show that our approach specifies the correspondences of local color region in source and target images. And it expresses the intention of users and generates more actual and natural results of visual effect.
