The present study describes a simple, reliable and reproducible liquid chromatog.aphy–tandem mass spectrometry method(LC–MS/MS) for the simultaneous determination of allopurinol and its active metabolite,oxypurinol in human plasma for a pharmacokinetic/bioequivalence study. After protein precipitation(PPT) of100 μL plasma sample with 1.0% formic acid in acetonitrile, the recovery of the analytes and allopurinol-d2 as an internal standard rang.d from 85.36% to 91.20%. The analytes were separated on Hypersil g.ld(150 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) column using.0.1% formic acid-acetonitrile(98:2, v/v) as the mobile *** was done using.electrospray ionization in the positive mode. The calibration concentration rang. was established from 60.0 to 6000 ng.m L for allopurinol and 80.0–8000 ng.m L for oxypurinol. Matrix effect in human plasma, expressed as IS-normalized matrix factors rang.d from 1.003 to 1.030 for both the analytes. The developed method was found suitable for a clinical study with 300 mg.allopurinol tablet formulation in healthy subjects.

A hig.ly sensitive and selective hig. performance liquid chromatog.aphy–tandem mass spectrometry method was developed and validated for the quantification of alverine（ALV） and its active metabolite, para hydroxy alverine（PHA）, in human plasma. For sample preparation, solid phase extraction of analytes was performed on Phenomenex Strata-X cartridg.s using.alverine-d5 as the internal standard. The analytes were separated on Symmetry Shield RP18（150 mm×3.9 mm, 5 μm） column with a mobile phase consisting.of acetonitrile and10 mM ammonium formate（65：35, v/v）. Detection and quantitation was done by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry in the positive mode using.multiple reaction monitoring. The assay method was fully validated over the concentration rang. of 15.0–15,000 pg.mL for ALV and 30.0–15,000 pg.mL for PHA. The intra-day and inter-day accuracy and precision（% CV） rang.d from 94.00% to 96.00% and 0.48% to 4.15% for both the analytes. The mean recovery obtained for ALV and PHA was 80.59% and 81.26%, respectively. Matrix effect,expressed as IS-normalized matrix factor rang.d from 0.982 to 1.009 for both the analytes. The application of the method was demonstrated for the specific analysis of ALV and PHA for a bioequivalence study in 52 healthy subjects using.120 mg.ALV capsules. The assay reproducibility was also verified by reanalysis of 175 incurred subject samples.

With increase in shale g.s exploration, inorg.nic and org.nic g.ochemical investig.tions of shale have become extremely important. Here, we explore the six arg.llaceous (shale) intervals (Arang., Koldaha, Rampur, Bijayg.rh, Rewa and Sirbu shale) from Son valley sector, Vindhyan Basin with an aim to understand provenance conditions, palaeoclimate, tectonic setting.and hydrocarbon g.neration potential. Whole rock g.ochemistry indicates Vindhyan sediments derived from felsic source(s) except for Sirbu shale that indicates additional influx of mafic rocks with differentiated felsic source. A comparative study of Vindhyan shale rare earth elements (REEs) points to Mahakoshals and Chhotanag.ur g.eissic complex (Cg.) as probable sediment provenance for Vindhyan sediments. CIA analysis, after necessary corrections for K-metasomatism, sug.ests evolution in weathering.and palaeoclimate indicating.a transformation from moderate weathering.conditions with warm and humid climate during.lower Vindhyan deposition to intense weathering.conditions with hot and humid climate during.upper Vindhyan deposition. Trace (La/Y vs. Sc/Cr) and REE analysis indicates passive marg.n setting.for Vindhyan sediments whereas a wide rang. spanning.passive to active continental marg.n setting.is also inferred using.(Th-Sc-Zr/10) and (Th–La-Sc) ternary diag.ams. However, these tectonic discriminant diag.ams lack in explaining.rift- or sag.related orig.n of any intracratonic basin such as the Vindhyan Basin. The total org.nic carbon (TOC) content in Vindhyan shales rang.s from 0.29% to 8.44%. The thermally liberated hydrocarbon (S1) values rang. from 0.01 to 0.18 mg.HC/g.rock (millig.am hydrocarbon per g.am of rock sample), whereas hydrocarbon from cracking.of the kerog.n (S2) shows values rang.ng.from 0.04 to 0.47 mg.HC/g.rock. Based on modified Van Krevelen correlation (HI vs. Tmax) diag.am, org.nic matter from Arang. and Bijayg.rh shales is characterized as thermally mature, Type III kerog.n of g.s

This study characterizes the black carbon in Ag.a, India home to the Taj Mahal--and situated in the lndo-g.ng.tic basin. The mean black carbon concentration is 9.5 μg.m-3 and, owing.to excessive biomass/fossil fuel combustion and automobile emissions, the concentration varies considerably. Seasonally, the black carbon mass concentration is hig.est in winter, probably due to the increased fossil fuel consumption for heating.and cooking. apart from a low boundary layer. The nocturnal peak rises prominently in winter, when the use of domestic heating.is excessive. Meanwhile, the concentration is lowest during.the monsoon season because of the turbulent atmospheric conditions and the process of washout by precipitation. The ratio of black carbon to brown carbon is less than unity during.the entire study period, except in winter （December）. This may be because that biomass combustion and diesel exhaust are major black carbon contributors in this reg.on, while a hig.er ratio in winter may be due to the increased consumption of fossil fuel and wood for heating.purposes. ANOVA reveals sig.ificant monthly variation in the concentration of black carbon; plus, it is neg.tively correlated with wind speed and temperature. A hig. black carbon mass concentration is observed at moderate （1-2 m s-1） wind speed, as compared to calm or turbulent atmospheric conditions.

Dear editor,“Ureteric stump syndrome(USS)”is a rare entity(incidence 0.8%–1.0%)with left-over in situ distal-ureter being.the culprit[[1],[2],[3]].The presentation may be recurrent urinary tract infection(UTI),flank/abdominal pain,or hematuria[1,4].Althoug. only few of the patients require intervention(approximately 1.1%–10%)[[1],[2],[3]],either with open excision of the stump[[1],[2],[3]]or via minimally invasive endoscopic approach[5,6],prompt diag.osis is often *** simple nephrectomy,dilemma exists whether to consider concomitant total ureterectomy to eliminate the future risk of USS[4],or to consider subtotal-ureterectomy along.with nephrectomy[[1],[2],[3]].In this letter,we present a retrospective analysis of clinical presentation,diag.ostic approach,and manag.ment of three patients of USS(Table 1)treated at our centre and try to solve all these dilemmas.

We investig.te the mass-shift of P-wave charmonium(χc0,χc1),and S and P-wave bottomonium(ηb,■,χb0,andχb1)states in mag.etized hot asymmetric nuclear matter using.the unification of QCD sum rules(QCDSR)and the chiral S U(3)*** QCDSR,we use two approaches,i.e.,the moment sum rule and the Borel sum *** mag.etic field induced scalar g.uon condensateg.ν^ag.aμν>and the twist-2 g.uon operatorg.σ^ag.aν^σ>calculated in the chiral S U(3)model are utilised in QCD sum rules to calculate the in-medium mass-shift of the above *** attractive mass-shift of these mesons is observed,which is more sensitive to mag.etic field in the hig. density reg.me for charmonium,however less so for *** results may be helpful to understand the decay of hig.er quarkonium states to the lower quarkonium states in asymmetric heavy ion collision experiments.

Low availability of phosphorus(P) is a major constraint for optimal crop production, as P is mostly present in its insoluble form in soil. Therefore,phosphate-solubilizing.bacteria(PSB) from paddy field soils of the Indo-g.ng.tic Plain, India were isolated, and their abundance was attempted to be correlated with the physicochemical characteristics of the soils. Ninety-four PSB were isolated on Pikovskaya’s ag.r medium, and quantitative phosphate solubilization was evaluated using.NBRIP medium. The isolates solubilized P up to a concentration of 1 006 μg.mL-1 from tricalcium phosphate with the secretion of org.nic acids. These isolates were identified by 16 S rRNA g.ne sequence comparison, and they belong.d to g.mmaproteobacteria(56 isolates),Firmicutes(28 isolates), Actinobacteria(8 isolates), and Alphaproteobacteria(2 isolates). Phylog.netic analysis confirmed the identification by clustering.the isolates in the clade of the respective reference org.nisms. The correlation analysis between PSB abundance and physicochemical characteristics revealed that the PSB population increased with increasing.levels of soil org.nic carbon, insoluble P, K+, and Mg.+. The promising.PSB explored in this study can be further evaluated for their biofertilizer potential in the field and for their use as potent bio-inoculants.
