Different strategies can be used to perform reparations and reinforcements of ancient bolted and riveted metallic bridges. As the riveting process is not currently a common practice, it requires proper equipment and skilled workers. Another solution is the use of welding. However, the weldability of old steels is poor. Bolts are very attractive alternative solutions, and are most commonly used to repair old metallic bridges. Fitted bolts are expensive solutions; the alternative is the use of resin-injected bolts. The behavior of bolted joints with preloaded resin-injected bolts has been studied using quasi-static and creep tests; however, few studies on the slip and fatigue behavior of these joints can be found in the literature. This paper presents an overview of a few experimental programs that were carried out by several authors aiming at evaluating the fatigue behavior of single and double shear resin-injected bolted connections. A comparison between the experimental data of joints with preloaded standard bolts and preloaded resin- injected bolts shows a fatigue strength reduction in the latter. Since Eurocode 3 （EC3） suggests the same fatigue strength curve for joints made of resin-injected bolts and standard bolts, this may raise some con- cerns. Furthermore, research on the feasibility of using both bonded and bolted connections is shown. This last study was performed with high-strength low-alloy structural steel plates and an acrylic struc- tural adhesive for metal bonding. For both case studies, a statistical analysis is performed on fatigue experimental data using linearized boundaries and the Castillo and Fernandez-Canteli model. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of an individualized remote exercise program on the improvement of body composition and physical fitness of a heterogeneous group of patients who completed breast cancer *** prospective study included 107 women aged 18 to 60,shortly after curative treatment for localized breast cancer,at the Erasto Gaertner Cancer Hospital(HEG)in Curitiba,PR,*** composition,maximal oxygen consumption,and muscle resistance were evaluated after nine months of intervention while considering adherence to the program,level of physical activity,presence of binge eating disorder,tumor classification,and treatment ***-eight women(72.8%)adhered to the training *** participants showed significant changes in body mass([-4.3±3.6]kg;p<0.0001),body mass index([-1.6±1.5]kg·m^(−2);p<0.0001),body fat(−3.4%±3.1%;p<0.0001),maximal oxygen consumption([7.5±2.0]ml·kg^(−1)·min^(−1));p<0.0001),and abdominal resistance([11.2±2.8]reps;p<0.0001).In contrast,these variables did not change significantly in the non-adherent *** the adherent participants,those subclassified in the severe binge group showed a more noticeable reduction in body mass,body mass index,and body fat(p<0.05)than those in the non-binge *** remotely-guided physical exercise programs can improve the body composition and physical fitness of women undergoing post-breast cancer surveillance,regardless of pathological history or treatment.

As a Nature-Based Solution,urban forests deliver a number of environmental ecosystem services(EESs).To quantify these EESs,well-defined,reliable,quantifiable and stable indicators are *** literature analysis and expert knowledge gathered within COST Action FP1204 GreenInUrbs,we proposed a classification of urban forest EESs into three categories:(A)regulation of air,water,soil and climate;(B)provisioning of habitat quality;and(C)provisioning of other goods and *** category is divided into EES types:(a)amelioration of air quality;restoration of soil and water;amelioration of the microclimate;removal of CO2 from the air;(b)provision of habitat for biodiversity;support for resilient urban ecosystems;provision of genetic diversity;and(c)provision of energy and nutrients;provision of grey infrastructure *** EES type provides one or more *** each of these 12 benefits,we propose a set of indicators to be used when analyzing the impacts on the identified *** half of the 36 indicators are relevant to more than one single benefit,which highlights complex *** indicators of wider applicability are tree and stand characteristics,followed by leaf physical traits and tree species *** knowledge is needed for the optimization of the EESs delivered by urban forests,now and in the future.

为缩短竹材生物脱胶时间,得到能够满足后道加工的工艺纤维(竹束),并提高成品质量,探索了温水沤竹过程中细菌菌群结构的演替规律及作用机制。采用高通量测序与传统可培养技术相结合的方法,确定了沤竹过程中的优势菌;并结合水沤过程中竹块的形态变化以及竹块与竹束的化学成分差异,分析了菌群在水沤脱胶过程中的作用。结果表明:竹材的水沤脱胶过程以木质素的降解为主,以竹粉为唯一碳源筛选得到的5株菌株,在属水平上仅占总菌群的0.70%~3.21%,优势可培养菌种为黏质沙雷氏菌(Serratia marcescens)和枯草芽孢杆菌枯草亚种(Bacillus subtilis ***)。筛选获得的可培养菌种中缺少起发酵作用使竹块膨胀的菌种,因此,预处理-优势菌种复配的联合工艺可以作为一种提高竹脱胶效率的手段。

There is a link between high lipopolysaccharide(LPS)levels in the blood and the metabolic syndrome,and metabolic syndrome predisposes patients to severe ***,we define an interaction between SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)protein and LPS,leading to aggravated inflammation in vitro and in *** gel electrophoresis demonstrated that SARS-CoV-2 S protein binds to *** thermophoresis yielded a of〜47 nM for the *** modeling and all-atom molecular dynamics simulations further substantiated the experimental results,identifying a main LPS-binding site in SARS-CoV-2 S protein.S protein,when combined with low levels of LPS,boosted nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-k B)activation in monocytic THP-1 cells and cytokine responses in human blood and peripheral blood mononuclear cells,*** in vitro inflammatory response was further validated by employing NF-kB reporter mice and in vivo *** light scattering,transmission electron microscopy,and LPS-FITC analyses demonstrated that S protein modulated the aggregation state of LPS,providing a molecular explanation for the observed boosting *** together,our results provide an interesting molecular link between excessive inflammation during infection with SARS-CoV-2 and comorbidities involving increased levels of bacterial endotoxins.

Physical and Quality Characteristics of Jupi Pineapple Fruits on Macronutrient and Boron Deficiency

The deficiencies of mineral elements, change the development of plants in a broad sense, and therefore may alter the growth and fruit quality. The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of macronutrient and boron deficiencies on morphological characteristics of “Jupi” pineapple fruits. The treatments complete, -N, -P, -K, -Ca, -Mg, -S and -B were applied as nutrient solutions in plastic pots with 14 kg of purified beach sand and one pineapple plant as the experimental unit. The trial was set up a randomized complete blocks design with six replicate. Nitrogen deficiency reduced fruit mass with and without crown, fruit length and diameter and peduncle diameter, increased TA, TSS and vitamin C, reduced TSS/TA, pH, pulp coloration and sensory acceptance of the fruits;phosphorus deficiency reduced fruit mass with and without crown, fruit and crown length, potassium deficiency reduced fruit mass with and without crown, length and diameter peduncle and calcium deficiency reduced peduncle diameter. Peel thickness was not affected by any deficiency. Nitrogen is the nutrient that most influenced the fruits quality of pineapple “Jupi”.

AIM： TO evaluate the impact of hepatitis C virus （HCV） infection with genotype 1 or 3 and the presence or absence of liver cirrhosis （LC） in the early viral kinetics response to treatment. METHODS： Naive patients （n = 46） treated with interferon-α （IFN-α） and ribavirin and followed up with frequent early HCV-RNA determinations were analysed. Patients were infected with genotype 1 （n = 28, 7 with LC） or 3 （n = 18, 5 with LC）. RESULTS： The first phase decline was larger in genotype 3 patients than in genotype 1 patients （1.72 vs 0.95 log IU/mL, P 〈 0.001）. The second phase slope decline was also larger in genotype 3 patients than in genotype 1 patients （0.87 vs 0.15 log/wk, P 〈 0.001）. Differences were found in both cirrhotic and non-cirrhotic patients. Genotype 1 cirrhotic patients had a slower 2^nd phase slope than non-cirrhotic patients （0.06 vs 0.18 log/wk, P 〈 0,02）. None of genotype 1 cirrhotic patients had a 1^st phase decline larger than 1 log （non-cirrhotic patients： 55%, P 〈 0.02）. A similar trend toward a slower 2nd phase slope was observed in genotype 3 cirrhotic patients but the 1^st phase slope decline was not different. Sustained viral response was higher in genotype 3 patients than in genotype 1 patients ,（72% vs 14%, P 〈 0.001） and in genotype 1 non-cirrhotic patients than in genotype 1 cirrhotic patients （19% vs 0%）. A second phase decline slower than 0.3 log per week was predictive of non-response in all groups. CONCLUSION： Genotype 3 has faster early viral decline than genotype 1. Cirrhosis correlates with a slower 2nd phase decline and possibly with a lower 1^st phase slope decline in genotype 1 patients.

Vibratory driving is the most efficient method of sheet pile installation. The elimination or at least reduction of harmful consequences of sheet pile vibratory driving becomes an increasingly important and often the decisive factor in the selection of the excavation protection technology. In difficult soil conditions with strength soil parameters, pressure water jetting precedes sheet pile driving. This technique changes the soil properties, destroying its existing structure near the installed sheet pile. Unfortunately, the results and achievements of contractors using this technique are very often held confidential or simply remain in the records and it is difficult to find papers on this subject. This article features a detailed description of jet-assisted sheet pile driving, including a prefabrication description for the sheet pile toe used to jet water through, water pressure and quantity data and the results with regard to reduce vibrations and noise, as well as to the increase in sheet pile vibratory driving performance.

Protease activated receptor 2 and epidermal growth factor receptor are involved in the regulation of human sperm motility

Aim： To investigate mechanisms of tryptase-induced reduction of sperm motility and explore whether epidermal growth factor receptor （EGF-R） and protease activated receptor 2 （PAR-2）- associated pathways are involved. Methods： Fresh semen was collected from healthy donors （n = 15）. Semen parameters and quality were assessed in accordance with the World Health Organization （WHO） criteria. Swim-up sperm were fixed and subjected to immunocytochemistry and immunoelectronmicroscopy with specific antibodies directed against PAR-2 and EGF-R. Protein extractions from swim-up spermatozoa were analyzed by Western blotting with antibodies for both receptors. Motility of spermatozoa was evaluated by computer-assisted semen analysis. Results： Immunocytochemistry found PAR-2 and EGF-R in approximately 30% of examined human ejaculated spermatozoa. Both receptors were localized in the plasma membrane. Like tryptase, the PAR-2 synthetic agonist SLIGKV reduced sperm motility, and this effect was inhibited by application of two specific EGF-R pathway blockers （AG1478 and PD168393）. Conclusion： The observed reduction of sperm motility by tryptase through the PAR-2 receptor involves EGF-R pathways.
