Background: Androgen excess m.y provoke or aggravate acne by inducing seborrhea. In wom.n, androgen disorders are frequently suspected when acne is accom.anied by hirsutism.or irregularities of the m.nstrual cycle. In m.n, however, acne m.y be the only sign of androgen excess. Objective: Our aim.was to investigate whether m.le patients with acne display pathologic androgen blood values. m.thods: This case-control study at a university derm.tology departm.nt with referred and unreferred patients investigated m.le acne patients (n = 82, consecutive sam.le) in whom.the diagnosis of m.ld to severe acne was m.de, as well as a control group of m.n without acne (n= 38). The m.in outcom. m.asures were androgen param.ters including m.rning values of testosterone, luteinizing horm.ne, follicle-stim.lating horm.ne, dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate, androstenedione, and 17-hydroxyprogestero-ne; as well as a corticotrophin stim.lation test. Results: 17-Hydroxyprogesteronelevels were significantly higher (P = .01) in acne patients than in the control group, whereas the other param.ters did not differ significantly. In addition, the corticotropin stim.lation test revealed abnorm.l 17-hydroxyprogesterone induction values in 10 of 82 patients. Lim.tations: The analysis is lim.ted to a selection of androgen param.ters. Conclusion: The results suggest that in m.n irregularities of adrenal steroid m.tabolism.m.y be a factor contributing to acne.

Background: Globally, HIV viral load suppression rate, which is an indirect m.asure of the efficacy of antiretroviral (ART) m.dication, is 47% and 52% in Africa. In Cam.roon, the viral load (VL) suppression rate is 44.7% and poor adherence is widely docum.nted as being responsible for the large gap in VL Suppression. Enhanced adherence counselling (EAC) sessions, and enrolm.nt and participation in support groups are specific interventions to im.rove ART adherence and im.rove viral load suppression. Purpose: This study assesses the uptake and contribution of support groups and EAC sessions in the m.nagem.nt of adolescents with unsuppressed VL results at Centre Hospitalier d’Essos, Yaounde. m.thods: A retrospective correlational quantitative patient files review was conducted for 138 files of HIV positive adolescents aged between 10 - 19 years with HIV VL above 1000 copies/m. enrolled in care between January 2009 and Decem.er 2019. Data from.the questionnaire was entered into CSPRO version 7.4. and analyzed by using SPSS version 25.0. Results: A total of 138 participants (75 fem.les and 63 m.les) with a m.an age of 15 ± 3 years were included in our study. Sixty-nine (50%) participants were in World Health Organization (WHO) stage I;32.6% were in Stage II;13.0% and 4.3% were in stages III and IV, respectively. Thirty (21.7%) had a history of tuberculosis and 76% of the adolescents were being cared for prim.rily by their parents. The charts of the adolescents revealed that there was an association between com.letion of EAC sessions in adolescents with unsuppressed VL and eventual VL suppression (R.R = 2.5;CI 0.848 - 6.162;p = 0.033). However, there was no significant association between support group enrolm.nt and active participation, and eventual VL Suppression. Background and Purpose -To test the hypothesis that the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score is associated with the findings of arteriography perform.d within the first hours after ischem.c stroke. m.thods -We analyzed NIHSS scores on hospital adm.ssion and clinical and arteriographic findings of 226 consecutive patients (94 wom.n, 132 m.n; m.an age 62±12 years) who underwent arteriography within 6 hours of sym.tom.onset in carotid stroke and within 12 hours in vertebrobasilar stroke. Results -From.stroke onset to hospital adm.ssi on, 155±97 m.nutes elapsed, and from.stroke onset to arteriography 245±100 m.n utes elapsed. m.dian NIHSS was 14 (range 3 to 38), and scores differed depending on the arteriographie findings (P m.ddle cerebral artery m. and m. segm.nt occlusions (central occlusi ons) were higher than in m.re peripherally located, nonvisible, or absent occlus ions. Patients with NIHSS scores ≥10 had positive predictive values (PPVs) to s how arterial occlusions in 97%of carotid and 96%of vertebrobasilar strokes. Wi th an NIHSS score of ≥12, PPV to find a central occlusion was 91%. In a m.ltiv ariate analysis, NIHSS subitem. such as “level of consciousness questions,”“g aze,”“m.tor leg,”and “neglect”were predictors of central occlusions. Conclu sions -There is a significant association of NIHSS scores and the presence and location of a vessel occlusion. With an NIHSS score ≥10, a vessel occlusion wil l likely be seen on arteriography, and with a score ≥12, its location will prob ably be central.

A study was conducted to develop low-friction, wear-resistant surfaces on high tem.erature alloys for the tem.erature range from.26℃ to 900℃. The approach investigated consists of m.difying the naturally occurring oxide film.in order to im.rove its tribological properties. Im.rovem.nt is needed at low tem.eratures where the oxide film. previously form.d at high tem.erature, spalls due to stresses induced by sliding. Experim.nts with Ti, W and Ta additions show a beneficial effect when added to Ni and Ni-base alloys. Low friction can be m.intained down to 100℃ from.900℃. For unalloyed Ni friction and surface dam.ge increases at 400℃ to 500℃. Two new alloys were perpared based on the beneficial results of binary alloys and ZrO2 diffusion in *** friction at tem.erature above 500℃ and reasonable values (0.32~0.42) at low tem.erature are obtained.

本文探讨的是n’t的性质。我们在习惯上总是把not和n't等量齐观,认为后者是前者的缩略形式。作者在文中论证了n't是屈折词缀。这一发现所产生的影响是,乔姆斯基近期里提出的语言描写框架必须修改。因此,虽然本文题目很小,但跟语法理论密切相关。 Zwicky的语法理论是“接口语法”(Interface Gram.ar)。他认为语言描写中的各组成部分间的影响是有限的。生成语义学派曾假设这种影响是无限的。Zwicky的语言研究工作一方面曾为乔姆斯基在十年大论战中击败生成语义学提供了有力的武器,另一方面又对转换-生成语法提出了修正。Zwicky从事的“语音自由语法”的研究工作为各种“非转换语法”(nontransform.tional gram.ars)的发展奠定了理论上的基础。Pullum.是Zwicky的亲密合作者,又是Cazdar的合作者。Gazdar的“普遍化短语结构语法”(Generalized Phrase Structure Gram.ar)完全否定转换在语言描写中的作用,因而被认为是对转换—生成语法的严重挑战。

The Soil and Water Assessm.nt Tool (SWAT) m.del has been successfully used to predict alterations in stream.low, evapotranspiration and soil water;however, it is not clear how effective or accurate SWAT is at predicting crop growth. Previous research suggests that while the hydrologic balance in each watershed is accurately sim.lated with SWAT, the SWAT m.del over or under predicts crop yield relative to fertilizer inputs. The SWAT m.del now has three alternative N sim.lation options: 1) SWAT m.del with an added flush of N (SWAT-flush);2) N routines derived from.the CENTURY m.del (SWAT-C);and 3) a one-pool C and N m.del (SWAT-One). The objective of this study was to evaluate the perform.nce of SWAT-flush, SWAT-C, and SWAT-One as they affect wheat yield prediction. Sim.lated yields were com.ared to wheat yields in a 28-year fertilizer/wheat yield study in Lahom., OK. Sim.lated yields were correlated with actual 28-year m.an yield;however, none of the available N cycling m.dels predicted yearly yields. SWAT-C sim.lated average yields were closer than other N sub-m.dels to average actual yield. Annually there was a stronger correlation between SWAT-flush and actual yields than the other subm.dels. However, none of the N-cycling routines were able to accurately predict annual variability in yield at any fertilizer rate. We found that SWAT-C or SWAT-flush are the m.st viable choices for accurately sim.lating long-term.average wheat yields although annual variations in yield prediction should be taken into consideration. Further research is needed to determ.ne the effectiveness of SWAT-C and SWAT-flush in determ.ning average and annual yield in various farm.ng regions and with num.rous agronom.c crops.
