successfully utilized non-axisymmetric endwalls to enhance turbine efficiencies(aerodynamic and turbine inlet temperatures)by controlling the characteristics of the secondary flow in a blade *** is accomplished by steady-state numerical hydrodynamics and deep knowledge of the field of *** of the interaction between mainstream and purge flow contributing supplementary losses in the stage,non-axisymmetric endwalls are highly susceptible to the inception of purge flow exit compared to the flat and any advantage rapidly *** conclusions reveal that the supreme endwall pattern could yield a lowering of the gross pressure loss at the design stage and is related to the size of the top-loss location being productively *** has led to diminished global thermal exchange lowered in the passage of the vane *** reverse flow adjacent to the suction side corner of the endwall is migrated farther from the vane surface,as the deviated pressure spread on the endwall accelerates the flow and progresses the reverse flow core still *** depleted association between the tornado-like vortex and the corner vortex adjacent to the suction side corner of the endwall is the dominant mechanism of control in the contoured end *** this publication,we show that the non-axisymmetric endwall contouring by selective numerical shape change method at most prominent locations is advantageous in lowering the thermal load in turbines to augment the net heat flux reduction as well as the aerodynamic performance using multi-objective optimization.

Turbine passage secondary Flow Dynamics and Endwall Heat Transfer Under Different Inflow Turbulence

This study presents endwall hydrodynamics and heat transfer in a linear turbine cascade at Re 5×105 at low and high intensities of *** are numerically predicted using the standard ssT model and Reθ-γtransition model as well as using the high-resolution LEs *** major secondary flow components,comprising the horseshoe,corner,and passage vortices are recognized and the impact on heat or mass transfer is *** complicated behavior of turbine passage secondary flow generation and establishment are impacted by the perspective of boundary layer attributes and inflow *** passage vortex concerning the latest big leading-edge vane is generated by the enlargement of the circulation developed at the first instance adjacent to the pressure side becomes powerful and mixes with other vortex systems during its migration towards the suction *** study conclusions reveal that substantial enhancements are attained on the endwall surface,for the entire spanwise blade extension on the pressure surface,and in the highly 3-D region close to the endwall on the suction *** forecasted suction surface thermal exchange depicts great conformity with the measurement values and precisely reproduces the enhanced thermal exchange owing to the development and lateral distribution of the secondary flows along the midspan of the blade passage *** impacts of the different secondary flow structures on the endwall thermal exchange are described in depth.

Understanding human-leopard conflict in the ‘Mid-hill’ region of western nepal

Livestock rearing and agriculture are the main sources of community-based livelihoods in western *** the rural mid-hills region of Gandaki province,leopards are the top predator and frequently depredate livestock and attack *** patterns of human-leopard conflicts(HLC) in nepal are poorly known at the provincial and national scales,which are essential to formulating effective conflict mitigation strategies and implementing them in the *** study aims to analyze the spatiotemporal pattern of HLC by applying Maxent modeling to covariates relating to known and registered conflict cases(n=842) collected from nepalese government *** found that cases of HLC have been increasing significantly over the past five *** also concluded that mid-elevation,south-facing slopes were more susceptible to HLC,but that mean annual temperature was by far the most important predictor of HLC;overall livestock density and proximity to roads were also important,but secondarily *** we found the increase in human fatalities to 2.16/year was significant(pn injuries were down slightly,though not significantly(5.16/year;p>0.05).However,we also found an increasing trend in livestock depredation rates for this same five-year period(png incidents *** also found that winter was the main season when depredations occurred,and that goats were the most depredated of all livestock.A total Us $86,892.25($17,378.45/year) of economic losses were incurred by communities during this time,with 78.57% of the total value reimbursed as compensatory relief through the government’s relief *** recommend that the use of predator-proof livestock corrals,greater awareness in local communities about wildlife behavior,better animal husbandry and security practices,and a more efficient compensation program,can improve coexistence between leopard populations and human communities in western nepal.

Influences of Annealing Temperature and Doping Concentration on Microstructural and Optical properties of CeO_2:sm^(3+) nanocrystals

nanocrystals of CeO2 with different doping concentrations of sm3＋ were synthesized by a novel and cost- effective method. The crystal structure, morphology and particle size were systematically investigated by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Effects of the annealing temperature and doping concentrations on the microstructural properties of the crystals were studied. X-ray diffraction analysis indicates that the cubic structure of the CeO2 is not affected by the doping of sm3＋ up to a doping concentration of 20%. Different structural parameters such as lattice constant, surface area, bulk density and porosity of the crystal were determined and discussed. Microscopic images of the CeO2：sm3＋ suggest that the thermal decomposition of oxalate precursor is a suitable synthesis pathway to produce uniform-sized microparticles and nanoparticles. The influences of annealing temperature and doping concentration of sm3＋ on the optical properties of the nanocrystals were also discussed. The photoluminescence excitation spectra reveal that the charge transfer band is redshifted with increasing annealing temperatures. Emission attains its maximum intensity for sm3＋ concentration of 1%, and higher concentrations lead to emission quenching.

Efficient in vivo delivery of anti-inflammatory proteins to modulate the microenvironment of an injured spinal cord and promote neuroprotection and functional recovery is a great ***-modified messenger RnA(mRnA)has become a promising new modality that can be utilized for the safe and efficient delivery of therapeutic ***,we used lipid nanoparticle(Lnp)-encapsulated human interleukin-10(hIL-10)-encoding nucleoside-modified mRnA to induce neuroprotection and functional recovery following rat spinal cord contusion *** administration of hIL-10 mRnA-Lnp to rats led to a remarkable reduction of the microglia/macrophage reaction in the injured spinal segment and induced significant functional recovery compared to ***,hIL-10 mRnA treatment induced increased expression in tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase 1 and ciliary neurotrophic factor levels in the affected spinal segment indicating a time-delayed secondary effect of IL-105 d after *** results suggest that treatment with nucleoside-modified mRnAs encoding neuroprotective factors is an effective strategy for spinal cord injury repair.
