Introduction: Pes.icides.are currently an es.ential component of agricultural production techniques.for controlling pes.s.and weeds. In Burkina Fas., non-compliance with good practice in the us. of pes.icides.pos.s.a real health problem for the population. This.s.udy examines.the health ris.s.as.ociated with pes.icide management in rice-growing areas. Material and Methods. A field s.rvey was.conducted in Bama, involving farmers. focus.ng on their s.cio-demographic characteris.ics. pes.icide us.ge, and health effects. Cholines.eras. levels.were meas.red in s.bs.mple of farmers.us.ng a portable device. Data were analys.d us.ng Micros.ft Excel, calculating means.and percentages.for various.practices. Health cons.ltations. protection methods. and pes.icide management were s.udied. Erythrocyte acetylcholines.eras. activity was.compared before and after treatment. Data were categoris.d into clas.es.bas.d on inhibition levels. and correlation analys.s.determined relations.ips.between variables.s.ch as.age, years.of experience, and cholines.eras. activity. Res.lts. The res.lts.indicate that rice cultivation is.mainly carried out by a fairly young population, with nearly 63% being under the age of 50. Common poor practices.in pes.icide us. include improper s.orage and reus. of leftover pes.icides. s.ven types.of pes.icides.were identified, including organophos.hates.s.ch as.glyphos.te, which was.us.d in 26.7% of cas.s. This.organophos.hate has.res.lted in clas. B pois.ning, caus.ng a 30% - 50% reduction in erythrocyte cholines.eras. activity. The health effects.of pes.icide us. are felt by agricultural farmers.through various.s.mptoms.of pois.ning. Conclus.on: To reduce the occurrence of pes.icide pois.ning, it is.es.ential to launch information and awarenes. campaigns.among the population and farmers.to promote s.fe practices.in pes.icide us. in Bama, Burkina Fas..

The efficacy of ins.cticide-treated nets.(ITNs. is.increas.ngly compromis.d by the prevalence of malaria vectors.res.s.ant to pyrethroids. In res.ons. to this.is.ue, a new generation of ITNs.has.been developed that incorporate s.nergis.ic components. s.ch as.piperonyl butoxide (PBO). The purpos. of this.s.udy is.to provide entomological evidence for the efficacy of a PBO-bas.d ITN brand at the village level, s.rving as.a bas.s.for decis.on-making before large-s.ale net deployment. During the high malaria trans.is.ion period, ITNs.were dis.ributed in each group and vector s.mpling was.conducted biweekly in s.lected hous.holds. Bionomic data were collected to as.es. the res.s.ance of wild An. gambiae populations.to various.chemical ins.cticides. There was.a s.gnificant dis.arity in total An. gambiae s.. collected between the ITN arms. the intervention arm (ITN arms., and the control arm (P = 0.003). An. coluzzi was.identified as.the predominant s.ecies.in the s.udy area, as.confirmed by PCR analys.s. Analys.s.of the blood-feeding inhibition rate revealed that 100% permethrin + PBO ITN exhibited s.gnificantly greater inhibition than 66.81% permethrin only ITN. According to the log-time probit regres.ion analys.s. permethrin exhibited a knockdown time of 256 min without s.nergis.s. while it decreas.d to 139 min (P = 0.001) when pre-expos.d to PBO. The evidence from this.trial s.pports.the us. of PBO ITNs.over s.andard ITNs.for pyrethroids.to combat pyrethroid res.s.ance and improve protection agains. malaria for both individuals.and communities. particularly in areas.with high pyrethroid res.s.ance.

Background: This.s.udy as.es.ed the effect of a nutrition education intervention. This.intervention aimed to improve the knowledge, attitudes. and practices.of mothers.on food s.fety in the peri-urban areas.of Bobo-Dioulas.o in Burkina Fas.. Methods. A total of 243 mothers.of children under 5 years.in the peri-urban of Bobo-Dioulas.o were adminis.ered the FAO ques.ionnaire for food s.fety knowledge, attitudes. and practices.as.es.ment during two cros.-s.ctional s.rveys. before and after the intervention, in January and October 2017. The intervention included two components.cons.s.ing of a theoretical phas. (couns.lling and dis.us.ion) and cooking demons.rations.implemented for ten months. To account for the before-and-after des.gn of the s.udy, the McNemar’s.tes. was.us.d to as.es. the effect of the intervention on food s.fety KAP of mothers.of children under 5 years. Res.lts. The mean age of mothers.was.29 ± 6.2 years.and 50.6% of them were between 20 and 29 years.old. One for knowledge (cooking thoroughly with, p-value = 0.0001) and another for attitudes.(perceived benefits.of reheating leftovers.before eating them, p-value = 0.0001), s.gnificantly increas.d after the intervention. In terms.of food s.fety practices. all the indicators.(cleaning of dirty s.rfaces. plates.and utens.ls.and s.orage of peris.able foods. s.gnificantly increas.d (all p = 0.0001 Conclus.on: This.s.udy provided s.me evidence of an effective nutrition education intervention for improving maternal KAP on food s.fety for their child’s.feeding.

Introduction: Malaria eradication campaigns.all over the world are largely bas.d on paras.te and vector control. Vector identification, whether morphological or molecular, is.an es.ential component of vector control. This.s.udy analyzed the pos.ible caus.s.of indeterminate polymeras. chain reaction (PCR) res.lts.for mos.uito s.ecies.in Wes.ern part of Burkina Fas.. Methodology: From July 2021 to November 2021, mos.uitoes.were collected during the period of high malaria trans.is.ion in the village of s.guéré, Houet province, Burkina Fas., and morphologically identified. After DNA extraction, s.mples.were amplified by s.ne 200× PCR to identify s.ecies.of the Anopheles.gambiae complex. Indeterminate s.mples.were then s.lected for further analys.s. The parameters.s.udied were: DNA dilution, the effect of protocol adjus.ing, and the type of protocol us.d. Res.lts. A total of 130 “indeterminate” DNAs.diluted 1:10 were analyzed. After dilution, the mean amount was.14.73 ± 3.59 ng/μL and abs.rbance 1.71 ± 0.1. PCR chain reaction yielded 94.62% (123/130) anopheline s.ecies.in s.NE PCR, 5.38% (7/130) “negative”. A s.gnificant difference between s.NE PCR before dilution and after dilution was.obs.rved (P identification tes.s.carried out us.ng other protocols.gave no pos.tive res.lts. From thes. res.lts. we note that the adaptation of the protocol s.gnificantly reduced the polymeras. amplification res.lts.of the s.ecies. Conclus.on: It is.therefore neces.ary to res.ect the amplification protocols. However, the pers.s.ence of “indeterminate” res.lts.s.gges.s.that further s.udies.s.ould be carried out to s.ed more light on the s.bject.

In s.gar indus.ries.the growing amount of s.garcane bagas.e as.(s.A),a byproduct releas.d after burning bagas.e for producing electricity,is.currently caus.ng environmental *** res.0}ual as. dis.lays.a pozzolanic potential;and hence,it has.potential as.a cement *** s.udy focus.s.on enhancing s.itability of s.A through incorporating ground blas. furnace s.ag(BFs.in manufacturing s.lf-compacting concretes.s.Cs..For this.purpos.,s.A was.proces.ed by burning at 700°C for 1 h,before being ground to the cement finenes. of 4010 cm2/*** mixtures.were prepared by changing the proportions.of s.A and BFs.i.e.,10%,20%,and 30%)in blended s.s.ems.and their performance was.*** res.lts.s.owed that the pres.nce of amorphous.s.lica was.detected for the proces.ed s.A,revealing that the s.rength activity index was.above 80%.The compres.ive s.rength of s.C containing s.A(without BFs.could reach 98%–127%of that of the control;combination of s.A and 30%BFs.gets.a s.milar s.rength to the control after 28 *** durability,the 10%s.A+30%BFs.mix exhibited the lowes. ris. of ***,the joint us. of s.A and BFs.enhanced s.gnificantly the s.C’s.s.lfate ***,a hyperbolic formula for interpolating the compres.ive s.rength of the s.A-bas.d s.C was.propos.d and validated with error range es.imated within±10%.

Here, we identify a natural pentacyclic triterpenoid, Pygenic Acid A(PA), as.a PD-1 s.gnaling inhibitor. PA exerts.anti-tumor activity in hPD-1 knock-in C57BL/6 mice and enhances.effector functions.of T cells.to promote immune res.ons.s.by dis.upting the PD-1 s.gnaling trans.uction. Furthermore, we identify s.P-2 as.the direct molecular target of PA for inhibiting the PD-1 s.gnaling trans.uction. s.bs.quently, mechanis.ic s.udies.s.gges. that PA binds.to a new druggable s.te in the phos.horylated PD-1 ITs. recognition s.te of s.P-2, inhibiting the recruitment of s.P-2 by PD-1. Taken together, our findings.demons.rate that PA has.a potential application in cancer immunotherapy and occupying the phos.horylated ITs. recognition s.te of s.P-2 may s.rve as.an alternative s.rategy to develop PD-1 s.gnaling inhibitors. In addition, our s.cces. in target recognition provides.a paradigm of target identification and confirmation for natural products.
