Effects of Soil and Rock Mineralogy on Soil Erosion Features in the Merek Watershed, Iran

Accelerated soil erosion is anthropogenic phenomenon and a major worldwide environmental problem. It mainly leads to removal of the clay minerals and soil nutrients and thereby reduces soil fertility because of mineralogical influence on the soil. The objectives of this study were to identify the dominant soil and rock minerals and the influences of mineralogical properties on soil erosion features. This study was conducted at the Merek watershed, located in Kermanshah, Iran. There are different geological formations comprising limestone, sandstone, radiolarite, flysch, shale and marl. The border of each formation was mapped based on geology map and was checked in the field, using GPS and digitized by GIS software (ILWIS 3.5). The erosion feature map was prepared through remotely sensed data (Landsat ETM+ 2002, Path/Row and acquired date). About 300 soil and 28 rock samples were collected from the study area for soil and mineralogy analysis. Result shows that inter-rill, rill and snow erosion were occurred mainly at soil from Sarvak, Ilam and Gurpi Formation which are mainly containing calcite, dolomite, quartz and caolinite minerals giving moderate soil erosion intensity (5 - 10 t·ha–1·yr–1). Whereas mica/smectite was dominant clay mineral of soil from Older Terraces resulting in gully erosion and considerable 12.90 t·ha–1·yr–1 soil loss. Furthermore, smectite was found as the dominant clay mineral from both soil and parent material of Kashkan Formation (marls material) contributing to landslide occurrence and severe annual soil erosion (16.6 t·ha–1·yr–1). This study revealed that both soil erosion feature and intensity potentially are affected by mineralogical properties.

Effect of border planting of Eucalyptus citriodora Hook. on the growth and biomass production performance of Cymbopogon winterianus Jowitt ex Bor Grass at Wondo Genet,Southern Ethiopia

The use of Eucalyptus trees, in association with other plants, has the potential to reduce the growth of neighbouring plants or grasses by competing for resources or releasing allelochemicals that may cause other plants to grow slowly. Our purpose here is to assess whether border planting of Eucalyptus is harmful to the establishment,growth, and production of Cymbopogon winterianus at various distances from tree lines in the Wondo Genet Agricultural Research Center in Southern Ethiopia. Several factors were studied: growth performances and yield of aromatic grasses; soil properties, including total nitrogen,organic carbon, and moisture content; and plant leaf nutrient content(NPK) at various distances away from the Eucalyptus citriodora border line were studied. Chemical compositions of hydro-distilled essential oils obtained from selected C. winterianus grasses leaves were analysed by gas chromatography. Plant height, biomass yield, amount of essential oil yield, and essential oil composition all were significantly affected due to Eucalyptus effect in the first10-m distance as compared to beyond 10 m from the tree border line. There were increases in soil total nitrogen,organic carbon, and moisture content with decreasing distances to the Eucalyptus tree border. The result of plant leaf nutrient content(NPK) differed across treatment and distance. The pot experiment(15 cm 9 20 cm), shoot length,and number of leaves of aromatic plants varied in the degree of inhibition based on the concentration of the aqueous extract. Significantly higher inhibitions of the shoot length and number of leaf parameters were observed when using 25% fresh leaf extract compared to other extract levels.

Healthcare is a binding domain for the Internet of Things(IoT)to automate healthcare services for sharing and accumulation patient records at anytime from anywhere through the *** current IP-based Internet architecture suffers from latency,mobility,location dependency,and *** Named Data Networking(NDN)has been projected as a future internet architecture to cope with the limitations of IP-based ***,the NDN infrastructure does not have a secure framework for IoT healthcare *** this paper,we proposed a secure NDN framework for IoTenabled Healthcare(IoTEH).In the proposed work,we adopt the services of Identity-Based Signcryption(IBS)cryptography under the security hardness Hyperelliptic Curve Cryptosystem(HCC)to secure the IoTEH information in *** HCC provides the corresponding level of security using minimal computational and communicational resources as compared to bilinear pairing and Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem(ECC).For the efficiency of the proposed scheme,we simulated the security of the proposed solution using Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications(AVISPA).Besides,we deployed the proposed scheme on the IoTEH in NDN infrastructure and compared it with the recent IBS schemes in terms of computation and communication *** simulation results showed the superiority and improvement of the proposed framework against contemporary related works.

Braille-assistive technologies have helped blind people to write,read,learn,and communicate with sighted individuals for many *** technologies enable blind people to engage with society and help break down communication barriers in their *** Optical Braille Recognition(OBR)system is one example of these *** plays an important role in facilitating communication between sighted and blind people and assists sighted individuals in the reading and understanding of the documents of Braille ***,a clear gap exists in current OBR systems regarding asymmetric multilingual conversion of Braille *** systems allow sighted people to read and understand Braille documents for self-learning *** this study,we propose a deep learning-based approach to convert Braille images into multilingual *** is achieved through a set of effective steps that start with image acquisition and preprocessing and end with a Braille multilingual mapping *** develop a deep convolutional neural network(DCNN)model that takes its inputs from the second step of the approach for recognizing Braille *** experiments are conducted on two datasets of Braille images to evaluate the performance of the DCNN *** rst dataset contains 1,404 labeled images of 27 Braille symbols representing the alphabet *** second dataset consists of 5,420 labeled images of 37 Braille symbols that represent alphabet characters,numbers,and *** proposed model achieved a classication accuracy of 99.28%on the test set of the rst dataset and 98.99%on the test set of the second *** results conrm the applicability of the DCNN model used in our proposed approach for multilingual Braille conversion in communicating with sighted people.

Graph-Based Feature Learning for Cross-Project Software Defect Prediction

Cross-project software defect prediction(CPDP)aims to enhance defect prediction in target projects with limited or no historical data by leveraging information from related source *** existing CPDP approaches rely on static metrics or dynamic syntactic features,which have shown limited effectiveness in CPDP due to their inability to capture higher-level system properties,such as complex design patterns,relationships between multiple functions,and dependencies in different software projects,that are important for *** paper introduces a novel approach,a graph-based feature learning model for CPDP(GB-CPDP),that utilizes NetworkX to extract features and learn representations of program entities from control flow graphs(CFGs)and data dependency graphs(DDGs).These graphs capture the structural and data dependencies within the source *** proposed approach employs Node2Vec to transform CFGs and DDGs into numerical vectors and leverages Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)networks to learn predictive *** process involves graph construction,feature learning through graph embedding and LSTM,and defect *** evaluation using nine open-source Java projects from the PROMISE dataset demonstrates that GB-CPDP outperforms state-of-the-art CPDP methods in terms of F1-measure and Area Under the Curve(AUC).The results showcase the effectiveness of GB-CPDP in improving the performance of cross-project defect prediction.

Coconut oil nanoemulsion attenuates methotrexate-induced hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity in Ehrlich ascites carcinoma-bearing mice

Objective:To evaluate the protective effect of the coconut oil nanoemulsion against methotrexate-induced hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity in Ehrlich ascites carcinoma-bearing Swiss albino ***:Forty mice were divided into four ***Ⅰserved as the untreated Ehrlich ascites carcinoma-bearing mice while Ehrlich ascites carcinoma-bearing mice in groupsⅡ–Ⅳreceived an intraperitoneal injection of 0.2 m L/kg coconut oil nanoemulsion,20 mg/kg methotrexate as well as 0.2 m L/kg coconut oil nanoemulsion mixed with 20 mg/kg methotrexate,*** toxicities of the treatments were assessed by determining the complete blood count,performing the serum analysis for liver and kidney functions,evaluating the oxidative status and visualizing histological changes in the liver and kidney ***:Treatment with methotrexate and coconut oil nanoemulsion markedly diminished the liver parameters including aspartate aminotransferase,alanine aminotransferase,alkaline phosphatase,total protein,direct bilirubin and total bilirubin which were raised by methotrexate treatment(P<0.05).Similarly,creatinine and blood urea nitrogen,as the indicators of kidney function,were dramatically lowered in the combination treatment group compared to the methotrexate group(P<0.05).In addition,treatment with methotrexate and coconut oil nanoemulsion reduced the malondialdehyde and increased catalase,glutathione reductase and superoxide dismutase,in the liver and kidney tissues(P<0.05).The treatment with methotrexate and coconut oil nanoemulsion reduced white blood cell count and increased the hemoglobin amount(P<0.05),but did not cause any change in platelets and red blood cell ***:Coconut oil nanoemulsion as a nanocarrier has great potential in reducing the adverse side effects induced by methotrexate.

The Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is regarded as the fastest expanding technological trend in recent years due its application in a variety of *** the monitoring region,several sensor nodes with various sensing capabilities are installed to gather appropriate data and communicate it to the *** proposed system of the heterogeneous WSN employing LoRaWAN-Zigbee based hybrid communication is explored in this research *** communicate in a network,two Long–Range Wide Area Network(LoRaWAN)sensor clusters and two Zigbee sensor clusters are employed,together with two Zigbee and LoRaWAN *** suggested Golden eagle shepherd optimization(GESO)method then forms Zigbee as well as LoRaWAN networking ***,depending on energy usage and data packet size,the fitness of each sensor node is assessed using the Dynamic Intelligent Reasoning Based Neural(DIRN)*** software is used to implement and execute this *** the Zigbee network’s transmission distance is 650 m and the LoRaWAN network’s transmission range is 3.5 km,the system can function with a packet loss rate of less than 0.04 *** study shows significant gains in the performance of the system when compared to traditional approaches based on digital findings obtained on software solutions.

During the experimental work, our main focus was to develop a novel and efficient synthetic approach for gem-dialkylthiovinylallenes through Fe（III）-catalyzed tandem rearrangement/C（sp2）-C（sp2） coupling reaction of tertiary propargyl alcohols and a-oxo ketene dithioacetals, giving a variety of gem-dialkylthiovinylallenes in good to excellent yields. We use different compounds with the optimal conditions established, we explored the scope of our reaction for substrate suitability. This currently rapid and step-economic procedure is functionally straightforward and utilizes economically benign, low cost and readily available reagents and catalysts. Under Fe（III） salts catalysis, tertiary propargyl alcohols reacted expediently with electron-rich a-oxo ketene dithioacetals to furnish the desired functionalized gem-dialkylthiovinylallenes. Regardless of whether the substituents are electron-withdrawing or electron-releasing, the transformations proceeded smoothly providing the corresponding gem-dialkylthiovinylallenesin good to high yields. The results are verified by the TLC following by’H-NMR and crystallography. The scope of this reaction is still to unveiled and the applications of the reaction are in wide range.
