The effect of gamma ray energies and volume ratio of micro steel fiber(1 and 1.5%) on attenuation properties of reactive powder concrete(70 MPa compressive strength) was investigated. Different characteristics have been considered such as linear attenuation coefficient,mass attenuation coefficient, and half-value *** iodide crystal with a gamma ray spectrometer and collimated beam of gamma ray has been implemented to perform the experimental test. Three sources(Cs-137, Co-60, and Bi-207) with energies of(0.662, 1.17 1.33, 0.569,and 1.063) MeV were adopted in the test. The results obtained indicated that mass attenuation coefficient is proportioned inversely with gamma ray energies and directly with a volume ratio of micro steel fiber. The linear attenuation coefficient and half-value thickness of the tested samples have been calculated and discussed. The obtained results showed that increasing the volume ratio of steel fiber has modified the adequacy of the reactive powder concrete as a shielding element since it increases the density and reduces the half-value thickness.

Solidification or crystallization of phase change emulsion in the form of fine emulsion drops in a direct contact coolant at temperatures below their freezing point was studied. This work is mainly focused on the size and shape of the generated partides from phase change emulsified fats. Size of the particles is the major or key factor being considered during their formation, however, other factors that govern the particle size and shape were also observed. The operating parameters of the process were optimized in order to obtain particles of smaller size ranges in the window of current operating conditions. The crystallization of complex emulsion maffices is very difficult to control in the bulk at desired requirement. Hence, the emulsion drop to particle formation has advan- tage in comparison with the bulk solidification or crystallization. The main objective of this work is to achieve spherical emulsion particles in a direct contact cooling system. Parameters like： stat）ility, characterization, viscos- ity, and the effect of different energy inputs were examined. Moreover, the effects of the capillary size, interracial tension, temperature of the emulsion on the particle size were also monitrored.

Biosynthesis of silver and other metallic nanoparticles is one of the emerging research area in the field of science and technology due to their potentiality, especially in the field of nano-biotechnology and biomedical sciences in order to develop nanomedicine. In our present study, Penicillium decumbens(MTCC-2494) was brought from Institute of Microbial Technology(IMTECH) Chandigarh and employed for extracellular biological synthesis of silver nanoparticles. Ag-NPs formation was appeared with a dark brown color inside the conical flask. Characterization of Ag-NPs were done by UV-Spectrophotometric analysis which showed absorption peak at 430 nm determines the presence of nanoparticles, Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopic analysis, showed amines and amides are the possible proteins involved in the stabilization of nanoparticles as capping agent. Atomic force Microscopy(AFM) confirmed the particle are spherical, size was around 30 to 60 nm and also the roughness of nanoparticles. Field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM) showed the topology of the nanoparticles and were spherical in shape. The biosynthesis process was found fast, ecofriendly and cost effective. Nano-silver particle was found to have a broad antimicrobial activity and also it showed good enhancement of antimicrobial activity of Carbenicillin, Piperacillin, Cefixime, Amoxicillin, Ofloxacin and Sparfloxacin in a synergistic mode. These Ag-NPs showed good anti-cancer activity at 80 μg·m L^(-1) upon 24 hours of incubation and toxicity increases upon 48 hours of incubation against A-549 human lung cancer cell line and the synergistic formulation of the antibiotic with the synthesized nanoparticles was found more effective against the pathogenic bacteria studied.

Every day,the media reports tons of crimes that are considered by a large number of users and accumulate on a regular *** news exists on the Internet in unstructured formats such as books,websites,documents,and *** such homogeneous data,it is very challenging to extract relevant information which is a time-consuming and critical task for the public and law enforcement ***-based Information Retrieval(IR)systems rely on statistics to retrieve results,making it difficult to obtain relevant *** are unable to understandthe user’s query and thus facewordmismatchesdue to context changes andthe inevitable semanticsof a given ***,such datasets need to be organized in a structured configuration,with the goal of efficiently manipulating the data while respecting the semantics of the *** ontological semantic IR systemis needed that can find the right investigative information and find important clues to solve criminal *** semantic system retrieves information in view of the similarity of the semantics among indexed data and user *** this paper,we develop anontology-based semantic IRsystemthat leverages the latest semantic technologies including resource description framework(RDF),semantic protocol and RDF query language(SPARQL),semantic web rule language(SWRL),and web ontology language(OWL).We have conducted two *** the first experiment,we implemented a keyword-based textual IR systemusing Apache *** the second experiment,we implemented a semantic systemthat uses ontology to store the data and retrieve precise results with high accuracy using SPARQL *** keyword-based system has filtered results with 51%accuracy,while the semantic system has filtered results with 95%accuracy,leading to significant improvements in the field and opening up new horizons for researchers.

NPBMT: A Novel and Proficient Buffer Management Technique for Internet of Vehicle-Based DTNs

Delay Tolerant Networks(DTNs)have the major problem of message delay in the network due to a lack of endto-end connectivity between the nodes,especially when the nodes are *** nodes in DTNs have limited buffer storage for storing delayed *** instantaneous sharing of data creates a low buffer/shortage ***,buffer congestion would occur and there would be no more space available in the buffer for the upcoming *** address this problem a buffer management policy is proposed named“A Novel and Proficient Buffer Management Technique(NPBMT)for the Internet of Vehicle-Based DTNs”.NPBMT combines appropriate-size messages with the lowest Time-to-Live(TTL)and then drops a combination of the appropriate messages to accommodate the newly arrived *** evaluate the performance of the proposed technique comparison is done with Drop Oldest(DOL),Size Aware Drop(SAD),and Drop Larges(DLA).The proposed technique is implemented in the Opportunistic Network Environment(ONE)*** shortest path mapbased movement model has been used as the movement path model for the nodes with the epidemic routing *** the simulation results,a significant change has been observed in the delivery probability as the proposed policy delivered 380 messages,DOL delivered 186 messages,SAD delivered 190 messages,and DLA delivered only 95 messages.A significant decrease has been observed in the overhead ratio,as the SAD overhead ratio is 324.37,DLA overhead ratio is 266.74,and DOL and NPBMT overhead ratios are 141.89 and 52.85,respectively,which reveals a significant reduction of overhead ratio in NPBMT as compared to existing *** network latency average of DOL is 7785.5,DLA is 5898.42,and SAD is 5789.43 whereas the NPBMT latency average is *** reveals that the proposed policy keeps the messages for a short time in the network,which reduces the overhead ratio.

Theoretical analysis of the electromagnetic field distribution in the focal region of a long metallic parabolic reflector that has its surface covered with a magnetized plasma layer is derived. The incident wave is considered to be with a general oblique incidence for both parallel and perpendicular polarizations. The electromagnetic field intensity expressions along the focal region are obtained accurately using Maslov＇s method. The effects of plasma thickness on the reflected and transmitted field distributions are investigated. The effects of other physi- cal parameters such as the angle of incidence and the plasma and cyclotron frequencies on the transmitted field- intensity distribution along the focal region are also studied. The results obtained by Maslov＇s method and Kirchhoff＇s approximation are found to be in a good agreement.

Graphene has become a worldwide admired material among researchers and scientists equally due to its unique richness in mechanical strength, electrical conductivity, optical and thermal properties. Re- searchers have explored that the composite materials based on graphene and metal/metal oxide nanostructures possess excellent potential for energy storage technologies. In particular, supercapacitors based on such composite materials have engrossed the extreme interest of researchers for its rapid charging/discharging time, safe operation and longer cyclic constancy. Till now, several fabrication techniques for composite materials and their energy storage applications have been explored. Here, specially, we have concentrated on the hottest research progress for the fabrication of graphene oxide and metal/metal oxide nanocomposites. We also emphasized on the characteristics and properties of supercapacitors fabricated using these composite materials. Moreover, our study is focused on the specific capacitance and cyclic stability of various composites to haul out the most efficient material for supercapacitor applications.

The motivation for this research comes from the gap found in discovering the common ground for medical context learning through analytics for different purposes of diagnosing,recommending,prescribing,or treating patients for uniform phenotype features from patients’*** authors of this paper while searching for possible solutions for medical context learning found that unified corpora tagged with medical nomenclature was missing to train the analytics for medical context ***,here we demonstrated a mechanism to come up with uniform NER(Named Entity Recognition)tagged medical corpora that is fed with 14407 endocrine patients’data set in Comma Separated Values(CSV)format diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and comorbidity *** other corpus is of ICD-10-CM coding scheme in text format taken from ***-10-CM corpus is to be tagged for understanding the medical context with uniformity for which we are conducting different experiments using common natural language programming(NLP)techniques and frameworks like TensorFlow,Keras,Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM),and *** our preliminary experiments,albeit label sets in form of(instance,label)pair were tagged with Sequential()model formed on *** and Bi-LSTM NLP *** maximum accuracy achieved for model validation was 0.8846.

Impact of renewable power market penetration on coal power generation capacity growth

Since renewable energy sources are growing in importance, how well they can penetrate the energy market for power generation will be a very important factor in the role the coal industry will play in the future. This paper examined the displacement of coal power plant capacity from 2010 to 2050 by renewables with respect to three drivers assumed under various conditions： the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act （ARRA）, Greenhouse Gas （GItG） policy, and varying plant capital cost cases. The results by 2050 illustrate that renewable market penetration captures anywhere from 1.9% to 6.4% of potential coal power generation capacity additions. Renewable power generation capacity additions is expected to outpace coal power plant additions by 89% with respect to ARRA in 2050, however with no GHG policy coal power generation capacity build-outs will outpace renewables by as high as 809%. Finally, coal power generation is still projected to be the largest single energy source contributor to the electricity market making up 28.0% of total available capacity, while renewables are expected to only make up 16.3% of total available capacity.
