IoT usage in healthcare is one of the fastest growing domains all over the world which applies to every age *** of Medical Things(IoMT)bridges the gap between the medical and IoT field where medical devices communicate with each other through a wireless communication *** in IoMT makes human lives easy and *** paper provides a comprehensive detailed literature survey to investigate different IoMT-driven applications,methodologies,and techniques to ensure the sustainability of IoMT-driven *** limitations of existing IoMTframeworks are also analyzed concerning their applicability in real-time driven systems or *** addition to this,various issues(gaps),challenges,and needs in the context of such systems are *** purpose of this paper is to interpret a rigorous review concept related to IoMT and present significant contributions in the field across the research ***,this paper discusses the opportunities and prospects of IoMT and discusses various open research problems.

In the United States, approximately 40 million adults over the age 65 are affected by one or more forms of cardiovascular disease and it remains the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in this population. Among older adults, therapeutic goals for cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are often confounded by comorbid diseases and/or conditions that dominate their overall sense of health and well-being. Thus, even while CVD is usually considered a principal concern, management is often complicated by concomitant medical challenges. Whereas, evidence-based care is often premised primarily on goals to increase longevity, the circumstances associated with multimorbidities [e.g., cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Parkinson disease, dementia, and chronic kidney disease] may undercut the perceived value of prolonging life. Thus, in addition to mortality benefit, other effects of cardiovascular (CV) therapy and/or management processes are important as well.

Engineering a folic acid-decorated ultrasmall gemcitabine nanocarrier for breast cancer therapy: Dual targeting of tumor cells and tumor-associated macrophages

Combination of passive targeting with active targeting is a promising approach to improve the therapeutic efficacy of ***,most reported polymeric systems have sizes above100 nm,which limits effective extravasation into tumors that are poorly vascularized and have dense *** will,in turn,limit the overall effectiveness of the subsequent uptake by tumor cells via active *** this study,we combined the passive targeting via ultra-small-sized gemcitabine(GEM)-based nanoparticles(NPs)with the active targeting provided by folic acid(FA)conjugation for enhanced dual targeted delivery to tumor cells and tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs).We developed an FAmodified prodrug carrier based on GEM(PGEM)to load doxorubicin(DOX),for co-delivery of GEM and DOX to *** co-delivery system showed small particle size of~10 nm in *** ligand-free and FA-targeted micelles showed comparable drug loading efficiency and a sustained DOX release *** FA-conjugated micelles effectively increased DOX uptake in cultured KB cancer cells that express a high level of folate receptor(FR),but no obvious increase was observed in 4T1.2 breast cancer cells that have a low-level expression of ***,in vivo,systemic delivery of FAPGEM/DOX led to enhanced accumulation of the NPs in tumor and drastic reduction of tumor growth in a murine 4T1.2 breast cancer *** study showed that 4T1.2 tumor grown in mice expressed a significantly higher level of FOLR2,which was selectively expressed on ***,targeting of TAM may also contribute to the improved in vivo targeted delivery and therapeutic efficacy.

The microstructure determines the photovoltaic performance of a thin film organic semiconductor *** relationship between microstructure and performance is usually highly non-linear and expensive to evaluate,thus making microstructure optimization ***,we show a data-driven approach for mapping the microstructure to photovoltaic performance using deep convolutional neural *** characterize this approach in terms of two critical metrics,its generalizability(has it learnt a reasonable map?),and its intepretability(can it produce meaningful microstructure characteristics that influence its prediction?).A surrogate model that exhibits these two features of generalizability and intepretability is particularly useful for subsequent design *** illustrate this by using the surrogate model for both manual exploration(that verifies known domain insight)as well as automated microstructure *** envision such approaches to be widely applicable to a wide variety of microstructure-sensitive design problems.

Ni-Ti-based shape memory alloys(SMAs)have found widespread use in the last 70 years,but improving their functional stability remains a key quest for more robust and advanced *** for their ability to retain their processed shape as a result of a reversible martensitic transformation,SMAs are highly sensitive to compositional *** with ternary and quaternary elements to finetune the lattice parameters and the thermal hysteresis of an SMA,therefore,becomes a challenge in materials *** materials science allows streamlining of the synthesis process and data management from multiple characterization *** this study,a composition spread of Ni-Ti-Cu-V thin-film library was synthesized by magnetron co-sputtering on a thermally oxidized Si ***-dependent phase transformation temperature and microstructure were investigated and determined using high-throughput wavelength dispersive spectroscopy,synchrotron X-ray diffraction,and temperature-dependent resistance *** the 177 compositions in the materials library,32 were observed to have shape memory effect,of which five had zero or near-zero thermal *** compositions provide flexibility in the operating temperature regimes that they can be used in.A phase map for the quaternary system and correlations of functional properties are discussed w让h respect to the local microstructure and composition of the thin-film library.

Atrial fibrillation(AF) is the most common type of sustained arrhythmia,which is now on course to reach epidemic proportions in the elderly population. AF is a commonly encountered comorbidity in patients with cardiac and major non-cardiac diseases. Morbidity and mortality associated with AF makes it a major healthcare burden. The objective of our article is to determine the prognostic impact of AF on acute coronary syndromes,heart failure and chronic kidney disease. Multiple studies have been conducted to determine if AF has an independent role in the overall mortality of such patients. Our review suggests that AF has an independent adverse prognostic impact on the clinical outcomes of acute coronary syndromes,heart failure and chronic kidney disease.

A major part of world is facing water shortages today. While the world’s population has grown to more than 7.75 billion, the quantity of sweet water has remained the same. The ever increasing use of water by such a large population has resulted in pollution of many water sources. The developing world where a large fraction of total world population is located faces water scarcity in a more severe manner than the developed world. The developed world has managed to control human population and preserve natural water resources more effectively. As a result of this and also due to stabilized population, they face lesser problems for water availability. Indian population stands at 1.386 billion as nowadays. The erratic monsoon rains over last few years have resulted in floods and subsequent water shortages in summer months in major part of the country. A similar situation is faced by many Asian and African countries. The means of recycling and using every possible source of water are always welcome in these countries. Since many of these countries lie in tropical or semitropical zone, the average relative humidity is more than 50% for most of the year. Changing life styles in these countries and spread of information technology based sectors have resulted in a growth spurt in air conditioning facilities. An air conditioner draws heat from surrounding air and cools the premises to desired temperature. During this process, a large amount of moisture in the atmosphere gets condensed and is drained out. There are no efforts made to recover this water in India and neighbouring countries. We have undertaken studies to check the quality of this water and see the feasibility of its use in a decentralized but effective manner. The results show that this water condensate from air conditioners is highly pure, substantial and available almost round the year. This can help in recovering millions of litres of good quality water daily. This water would find uses in industries, laborato
